I'm new to trading I have spent hours researching watching CZcams, Iv been on practice mode for 2 weeks and Iv got myself to a good standing of understanding the market, reading into how the prices push against each other and finding my entrance and exit !
Well for the first time today I went live with my own money and tried to trade today's horse racing and completely cocked it up!!!
I wish I would of seen this video before I did my first day of trading my own money!

It is a whole different ball game when you put real money on the line. Anxiety levels go up, clear thinking goes out the window :)

Don't expect to gain an understanding of the markets in 2 weeks. 2 years, maybe

Spot on Caan. I also skip Mondays because of the lack of quality racing. I wish everyday was like saturdays racing.

Right, Im certainly no Caan Berry, far from it, I struggle mostly on looking at other prices moving and tend to fix my attention on the horse I choose to trade, Im sure Im not alone there, I do now think trading horse racing it a nutshell is youre own opinion, if the price is too high or too low. I have also come to the conclusion the market knows the form horses and other indicators such as days since last run, trainer jockey form, class, going, running style. I know people say you can just trade the money indicators but if you can see a vastly over rated horse with low odds there is a very good chance its odds will drift, entry point of course is critical, only you can make that call but I do believe having knowledge on the sport is a must for someone like me who struggles with just looking at order flow

Not everything can drift. If it was that simple we would all be jumping on and laying everything on mondays :D

It could be any day reading the form guide gives a picture for the day sometimes they just group those shitty horses that haven't won, maiden horses together, ran at bad timings for some reason for the past few starts still they make him the favourite for today cos more shitty horses are in competition it becomes so hard to either back him lay him weather the price will move up or down just not a day for anything......

Yes but if you are betting smaller stakes on Sunday/Monday there are swings if youre scalping but they work either way, as long as youre entry point is correct in youre own opinion you should still be able to trade without much damage, I would say the maidens and novice races are just as hard to trade on any day never mind Monday, btw the other day at Lingfield were there seemed to be a strike on with some trainers over prize money was an absolute shocker, on many races there was only 2 or 3 runners, at first I thought this will be a piece of cake, wrong, markets were all over the place, with Cheletenham coming up its a different animal again, personally I find it as boring as trading pre match football, is there a thing as too much money in the market?
