I love how SUSD applies this level of analysis and care to a game that most board game hobbyists would dismiss without a second thought.
"We cannot resist any game that looks like it doesn't actually exist?" Oh good, I am glad I am not the only one who thought this was a fictional product.
Seen it in hmv
08:05 But what about the “non dominant hand” Matt?
He puts Loki and Coyote to shame with his tricks.
Draw three cards for next term.
get em!
You bake Jenga bread and people talk about your HANDS, what is the point of CZcams dot com
@@shutupandsitdown Internets man....you cannot win them.
If it helps. I did send a screencap of the bread with the caption "difference between you're everyday board game reviewer and an artist"
"Competitive bonsai with alien peas." Would be the greatest box quote of all time.
"It was a multipack I'm not a tory" made me cry laugh
🤣
I don't get it. 🤔
@@QuantumCuttlefish "A Tory" is British slang for a member of the Conservative political party. "I'm not a Tory" means something between, "I'm not rich" and "I'm not a monster."
@@QuantumCuttlefish Those San pellegrino drinks are sometimes described as "Tory fanta" and someone else explained what a Tory is
@@QuantumCuttlefish You have to be British to understand
"Look at me here with my fancy lemon drink. It was a multi-pack, I'm not a Tory." Matt at his most relatable and hilarious.
Looked for this comment. LOL
They did mention in the Kickstarter that these are washable so getting wet is only a temporary setback
When we got ours, the wife and kids and I played for about 2 hours. It was always laughing and cheering when it fell over, and "let's play again!"
“Competitive bonsai with alien peas” should be on the box
It was a very good piece of writing.
When you immediately forget you just moved the tweezers to your non-dominant hand because you need to use that hand.
13:45 was so ready for a "shut up and sit down" line here. a shame Lees insists on rudely being a better writer than me.
I made the most *DISGUSTING* laugh when the Max Gland splash showed up. EVERYTHING on and about it is perfect, and I think he might somehow be my new favourite character on the show. But possibly only in that exact pose.
may I recommend a small length of something like a rope... perhaps the belt from a dressing gown... you just plop that down as a sort of ring around the play area (an it can fit any sized area because its flexible) and then if the tower falls, the fuzzies don't go a-rolling. Furthermore you can tie it around the box as a lovely soft carry handle! :D
Guess we know where matt got the croutons from Tuesday's playthrough with tom over on Twitch
When you got the fuzzies wet, I thought for sure a Gremlins reference was afoot.
I actually laughed out loud at drippy damp, dip damp, and "Oh, it's a sinker..." Just fantastic stuff
This game has a "shut up and sit down" rule? It's literally against the rules to get out of your chair?! How could you not give the your coveted 🍐 award?
The Jenga bread tower was very impressive
but is it recyling, upcyling or just puttin your snackbread in order on the table because of laking bowls?
I resolve to start every morning with a tower of jenga toast.
I want it.
Quinns 2017-spends 13 minutes talking about a game that he describes as the biggest game of the year.
Matt 2021-spends 17 minutes talking about a game that “doesn’t even exist”
Lol
I work in a hospital and we genuinely (staff and patients) all went "Wheeey!" when someone dropped a full bedpan. Its in our genes.
I need to buy three copies of this and make a giant fuzzy tower of doom
“Do it.”
-Emperor Palpatine
"it was a multipack; i'm not a tory" oh dear i love this line so much
2 years later, and I'm STILL glad I bought this game as soon as this video came out. Everyone loves this game, even my grandparents. It's not often that you can put a game in front of literally anyone, and everyone will have a great time.
That flash of existential dread in the eyes of Matt's Fuzzy Conscience when he denies its existence past 7:40...
Yes!
I'm surprised Matt didn't show himself tasting the fuzzies given how much susd loves tasting game components.
Damn I was beaten to the first, but first the worst, second the best. Matt, at 8:16, you used your RIGHT HAND!
Im glad someone else noticed! I’m not the only one.
We are not alone!
Is Matt not left handed?
Ooh, just in time for night shift breakfast! Thank you!
Edit: Oh, "hand over one eye" is less of a severe punishment than I thought at first glance. Had me worried for a sec...
gimme yer eyes!
This game would never fly in my dusty, cat haired covered house, but does look fun. Got to love the home made Jenga tower, but the top notch bit was the smirk at 15:02
You can clean them with a lint roller, I've got a multi-cat house
I imagine it's great on a felt table with an edge.
Possibly the best review Matt has ever put out there. Fuzzing brilliant.
Brave of you to say that in a post-pipeline review world
Guaranteed that you'll have a fuzzing good time.
I’m so happy Max Gland has returned
Same. I audibly cheered.
I would never look twice at a game like this, but after this review I need this game in my life
Wow, Matt did a bit about Germany and didn't even mention ze war, he really isn't a Tory.
For such a simple game it's amazing how you can talk about it for 17 minutes in an interesting way.
I think it took 3 of us less than that long to play it tbh.
“I’m not a Tory” is officially the greatest sentence uttered in a SUSD review.
Guess I get this game now.... in the voice of Dr. Doofenschmirtz: "Curse you, Matt the boardgamereviwer"😃
audibly said holy shit when matt revealed what was on the back of the cards
If it has one set of rules it’s definitely a game.
If it has no rules, it’s definitely a toy.
If it has multiple sets of rules and isn’t a deck of cards, I think it’s fair to refer to it as either a game or as a toy, depending on how much fun it is to mess with with no rules and on whether or not you personally find “toy” demeaning.
Darth Vader is clearly *lawful* evil.
Could I be pedantic in a more geeky way? Oh yes, oh yes I can.
Okay, he works for the lawful Empire, yeh. However, he also rages out and also murdered women and children sand people on a whim, and refuses to consistently work within the empires rules. So, personally, I can see it either way.
@@AutumnReel4444 yeah - Tarkin is LE.
Fuzzy Tom's existential dread moment is brilliant, great review guys!
This strikes me as a thing someone would buy for young kids, they'd play for one afternoon and the parents will be finding the individual fuzzies periodically around the house for years afterwords.
This is why im buying this for adults.
If they then hand it to kids that's off my conscience.
I think it would be impossible to play in my home. They look just like the pompoms my cat plays with. Or that’s just the challenge version.
My cat's favourite game is to wake up and mess up our board games just after we've started playing. She would love this...
His response to the semantics question is my favorite.
I hope talking fuzzy ball becomes a reoccurring character in the SUSD cineMATTic universe
I like that this review went full 'Look Around You' for a water experiment. Write that down in your copy book.
The office chair lowering transition. 😆👌
Oh man, thanks for mentioning how it's called in German, no joke, it helped a lot. I wanted to get it as a light game for playing with my mother, and failed to find any copies here in a Central European country. But I remembered it's also called Die Knuffies, and I actually found it and bought it this way. Super weird that your random trivia bit actually helped me, but I'm glad it did!
The Good: This is a wonderful video!
The Bad: Every time I watch one of your reviews I want to buy new games!!! :'(
The Ugly: That Fuzzy face will haunt my nightmares from now on!!! ARGH!
Missed opportunity to do a gremlins bit with getting them wet!
"competitive bonsai with colorful peas" :)
I love how genuinely happy Matt looks at 12:25 🖤
Matt "put them back into the jug of shame, it's not called that...."
Me "nope, that is exactly what that is going to be called now"
Pigs In Spaaaaace
HAHAAHA look at my fancy lemon drink. It's a multipack I'm not a Tory. I love this.
10:41 i'm screaminggggg what a reference hahaha
You have no idea how much I appreciate the Australian link.
"Non-dominant hand. That's my left." ....Immediately uses right hand.
I'm not sure exactly why, but the board game fact from Max Gland is what it took for me to pause the video and finally go to the SU&SD webpage and make a donation.
You completely missed an opportunity for a Gremlins gag when you talked about getting them wet!
You didn't use your non-dominant hand. You put the tweezers in your left and then used your right.
Was looking for this comment
Stumbled across the fuzzies at Target (big box retailer) today and this was a Black Friday sale item they had. Instantly remembered this video. Checked the price, $7.50, instant purchase. 🤔 A fine move.
Watching a review of a new game (Fuzzies), and learning more than I ever understood about the dynamics of a game already on my shelf (Jenga). Thank you, SUSD.
so THAT's what he was baking bread for.
So, hypothecially, if every turn two fizzies fell off the tower until there were less than ten left, the game would be unending?
Yes. You now have an obligation to sit in that same chair until the day you die. Its the riskiest board game on earth. It could very well be your undoing, it might dramatically change the course of your life. It probably won't happen, but the risk is always there.
Oh the horror. The first result for "Fuzzies" on Amazon is literal frozen Mice (for Reptiles... apparently)
This is why I support you guys; I wouldn't have even glanced at this game and now I want to have it 😁
PSA to my fellow UK SU&SD enjoyers, if you're looking for this boardgame do NOT Google "The Fuzzies UK" - you will quickly learn about a cutesy name used for product involved in the feeding of pet snakes - pictures will appear.
How do Britons get their protein?
Wheeeeeeeeeey!
Curds you for that terrible pun!
The answer to the age old grognard hobby horse "is this a game or is this a toy/activity" was perfect.
bought game at about the half way point of this video. the quick setup and simple rules make it great for a kid. honestly surprised Haba didn't make something like this.
Honestly bread jenga sounds like it has it's own interesting maneuvering to deliver.
"Competitive bonsai with alien peas" has pretty much been me and my partner's experience so far. It's hard to find a quiet raucous game and this is definitely one.
Lwaxana Troi = Miss Piggy damn near killed me
Me patiently waiting for SUSD’s review of Descent…me getting a review of a silly family game, and ordering it within the first 3 minutes of the video. Thanks Matt! Love you guys.
Leaving the "gives me the fuzzies" for the comment section like a gentleman.
1:35 An excellent point- well argued Mr Lees
A toy is something you entertain yourself with. A game is something that entertains you.
I would invite for a costume party, wear an alien outfit, put the fuzzie tower on top of your head. At some point tellin ppl "play with me!"
Take cotton swabs. Dye them. Put them in a cup with a cap. Grab a pair of tweezers! Basically the game in a nut shell.
Appears not to be available in Britain
Matt, serving soup during a gaming session - just like all food servings during a gaming session - is Chaotic Neutral. You're doing a good act, but the outcomes are potentially frustrating and harmful. Chaotic Evil would throw the soup at everyone involved and then maybe start a little fire.
10:00 - I was POSITIVE they were going to multiply when they got wet...
Was totally expecting a Gremlins reference, don't let your Fuzzies near the bread Jenga after midnight
Data as Fozzy Bear? Sam the eagle is Warf?
Nice, seems like it would be good for families or as a drinking game - or a good game for drinking families (please family responsibly).
At 4:48 ever since I was a child, whenever we went to a restaurant and you hear the unmistakable sound of glass breaking or a ceramic plate with someone’s dinner hitting the floor I always yelled YAHTZEE! I generally get a couple laughs. I live in California btw, I know your thinking Ha crazy yanks
(so true lol)
i played this game rather drunk and i swore at my friends for making me play it for they were relatively sober. But then... I embraced the fear, went with the flow, became supremely confident, and even with multiple forfeits became one with the game and to their amazement I was a god at removing tribbles and handing over the tweezers with a dramatic flourish.
Was drawn to this as soon as the video started! When you showed the penalty cards? Instantly sold! Just ordered it, thanks for the review!!
Fun fact: the 'k' in "Knuffies" isn't silent.
& Kn-UH-fees = better pronunciation ... 🧐
I'd seen the comments before it happened so was waiting for the Tory comment and safe to say it DID NOT dissapoint haha
What a coincidence! We Mexicanos also say 'waaaaaay' a lot, like, in every sentence
14:10 Matt made me spit coffee all over the room.
I think it's more like "die k'nooffies", which is similar to how you say "knuffel" (vowels like strudel) which means hug. So it's called 'the huggies' or 'the huggables'.
I had written this one off as a weird party game but now I just want to give it a go
Now >this< is something surprising and interesting that I like seeing SUSD cover. 👀🐍
we love you too. Greetings from Germany! Get the Knuffies
The one thing I wish Shut Up and Sit Down did more of were recommendations for games similar to the ones they've reviewed in an episode.
Jenga and Operation in this case, I guess?
Oh god Max Gland is back
The link to buy the fuzzies in the uk doesn’t work
What the heck I got an ad with shut up and sit down on a video for shut up and sit down now that's how you do ad
I was in a gamestore today and saw this game.. I was like.. what a cute janga alternative… now I’m thinking: oh wow I was wrong! Really funny to see you post this Video today. Thanks!
