- I'm trying Electric Revelation as a way to consolidate slots in ruby storm! Is it the real deal?

I love seeing cards I’ve never read/played doing stuff!
@@HarborMastr yeah a neat find!
You made me comeback to Storm after more then 7 years xD, thx for the brainstorming hHahaahh
@@h8reset194 haha love it! Let me know if you perfect the list :)
You missed Galvanic Relay... Good times!
@@matthewmagda4971 yeah and Chatterstorm also xD, but sure we will be back storming soon hahaha
i like the name ruby storm. stick to your guns!
@@salemthomasmtg7415 haha thanks
Revelation looks sweet, it being an instant and discard fodder is prettyy nice. My testing been going well too, back to back 4-1's since my video. Etali's Favours been working very well.
@@CosmicCharles466 wow nice!
@@kalikaiz I mean only 2 leagues total, but still, it feels really strong.
@@CosmicCharles466 I have had a lot of success but also a lot of fails. I keep trying a ton of stuff. Affinity and heavy removal decks are hard
@@kalikaiz I haven't had the same experience with affinity or ub, but I might be getting lucky. The mu I've been struggling the most with is burn, but I think I just haven't figured out the right keeps for them yet.
@@CosmicCharles466 we need more videos :)
We love this deck!! Keep the hard work
@@superpepo98 awesome thank you!
When your opponent is on removal, you need to hold back Burning Prophet until you can get value out of it or just overwhelm them.
@@matthewmagda4971 okay
Definitely stick with calling it Pauper Ruby Storm! It's very similar to actual Ruby Storm with the red rituals and cost reducers, and it's good for getting clicks!
@@runthetrap10 gotta get the clicks!!!
Haha thanks for the support
This might be the thing to make me play monored(ish). I love my poison storm deck and I like the sadistic broodscale combo deck, but I do really like this "We have ruby storm at home" build.
@@ValerieEnriquez heck yeah! It's just so fun
I know it's been suggested before - but what are your thoughts on Apostle's blessing in place of the mutagenic growths? It's slower (unless you have a thornscape on the field), but would provide protection from snuff outs / targeted removal.
The obvious counter argument is that mutagenic growth can also work to get you to lethal in matchups where you side it in. I don't know which is better, but match 1 made me wonder about it. What do you think?
Super sick deck in any case. Love all the videos of you testing it out.
@@fuzzylumpkinsclassic thanks a lot! Blessing seems good in some cases but overall I'm not happy with that plan regardless. I need a way to go more over the top. Love this deck though! I'm glad you liked it
You are hands down the best pauper content creator! Always love your brews.
@@magicsnaffo3661 thank you that's very nice of you!
I've been loving watching the evolution of this deck, it's awesome. I keep wondering whether a one-of Fling might work?
That's fine and all but I think it's worse than crash through tbh. Crash is going to do more damage on average I think. Really appreciate you checking it out and suggesting stuff 🙂
That's fair enough! I just can't help thinking that Fling could potentially play around things like KCS, or Snuff Out, or even Weather if you have lethal and could respond to the cast. It would also allow you to make use of a Prophet with summoning sickness if you don't have the Bitter Reunion (I think you had one game where you pumped two Prophets but could only attack with one). I wondered whether you could run both Crash Through and Fling?
Anyways, I know nothing about deck-building so I don't know how feasible this would be or whether it would work, but it was just a thought.
BTW, can I say thanks for all the fantastic content. You are by far my favourite MTG channel.
@@user-ze6su9ti6u thank you very much! Don't be afraid to shoot out ideas 😀
Any idea why there isn’t a faeries list playing sneaking snacker? Brainstorm summoning one snacker into a spellstutter counter a two drop seems dope, especially if it’s izzet fae and you play faithless
@@devangoad I think that fae lists are too tight already to just have a body. I have seen people trying it but it kinda was mid overall. I think the best deck for it is madness where it's basically just another great discard payoff and gives the deck even more oomf.
In fae it's diluting your normal plan imo
@@kalikaiz fair, I’ve never been a fae pilot so I don’t know the ins and outs but they’ve always been my nemesis as a skyfisher pilot and I miss my best enemy lol
@@devangoad haha yeah. Right now it seems blue is nearly just banned in Pauper
Modern: Ruby Storm
Pauper: Buby Storm
Haha fair enough!
have you tested/considered etali's favor?
@@leonamfernandesdasilva9012 yeah it was cool! I just think the crash through is better as a Singleton overall
I'm thinking about building this in paper, it looks Hella fun.
But since lotus petal is kinda expensive, what would you recommend as replacement? Desperate ritual? Or maybe wild chorist?
@@AulaGeschrabbel ah man petal is pretty important. Definitely at a minimum 4 desperate ritual
@@AulaGeschrabbel I think you'd have to add color fixing too which makes it even harder
@@kalikaiz Hm. I see. Maybe I'll try wild Cantor then too. Sure it makes the deck 1 turn slower and it's a creature, but on the upside it can block in a pinch and provides the fixing.
Or maybe seize the spoils 🤔
Feels like you should have more guttersnipes and protection in SB instead of interaction
@@krlbcn yeah that's something I have also considered too
On electric revelation, why not a single faithless looting? Imo it’s one of paupers tier zero cards though I understand holding cards in hand is a problem I think a single one could come in handy
@@devangoad we basically can't use looters because we go hellbent so fast. All of our draw spells exile cards not put them in hand
Can you clarify 0:30 "this goes up +2 cards if you cast everything", you mean card advantage? It's neutral on the first cast, +1 from flashback. What am I missing 🤔
@@david_s5693 so basically it can "draw" you four cards (at the cost of 2 discards) vs highway robbery which only does half of that. The assumption is that now we can get two cards in just one, allowing for more slots for other cards
@@kalikaiz By "get two cards in just one" you are referring to deck slot compression, not what happens when you cast the spell. 👍 I understand you now. That also explains why you're not running four. Cause as far as card advantage goes, it synergizes with itself ("ERev pitching ERev"). But you're not doing card advantage with them
why not faithless looting over electric revelation?
@@jeffreyfontecha5611 looting is card negative, but the main problem is we go hellbent from the card draw so any loots are risky
@@kalikaiz This reasoning doesn't make sense to me as a differentiator, if you're hellbent you can't cast Electric Rev either
@@david_s5693 yeah I think that's why revelation is already a big risk. It's hard enough to keep one single card in hand let alone two. Looting is great for flooding out but prophet is what I'm trying to use in that way
@@kalikaiz ok I kind of see what you mean because at the end of the sequence, Electric Rev you have two *new* cards. But I think it's just a different way of saying "Looting is card disadvantage."
You're not wrong fwiw, Looting is worse imo because it's disadvantage, and because its power increases with hand size and your hand is usually small
@@david_s5693 yeah I don't really like rev all that much in total but I think looting is just even worse due to hand emptying
have you tested tinder wall?
@@horvathsogranfume658 what are you cutting? What is the reason for it?
@@kalikaiz as an extra 1 mana ritual, not sure if this iteration needs it
@@kalikaizalso it lets you filter woodlot mana into RR
@@horvathsogranfume658 I think for that you would probably go with desperate ritual tbh
Do you think this deck is worse in paper?
@@highonpi in what way?
@@kalikaiz Mainly due to time concerns or mental load of tracking floating mana, etc. I haven't played MTGO myself, so idk if decks with this style are better suited to that digital format.
@@highonpi tracking floating Mana should not be that difficult. You can use chips or something.
Resolving triggers I think would be a bit easier. You can shortcut like "cast, take 2, 3 scrys" and if you too the first you don't have to click through the rest.
I think the hard thing might be putting multiple cards on the bottom and keeping track of the piles for use this turn, next turn, and glimpse. Making some tokens for piles could help
@@kalikaiz Thanks! As a new MTG player in general, I look forward to all of your videos.
just call it red storm or something. ruby storm literally makes no sense.
