- I took ČD Rychlík (Fast train) Berounka, connecting Bayerisch Eisenstein / Železná Ruda and Prague. This service is a connection between the capital city of the Czech Republic and border with Germany. This train still consists of locomotive and classic coaches in regular composition.

God, I'm in love with Eisenstein station. The fact that you have a maintained and manned station in small village of 993 people. In most other places in Germany you are lucky if a village-station has a shelter on the platform. The house plants gives it that "granny's house" vibe.
Me too, it was my second visit/transfer at this station and it's amazing there.
My 89 year old Dad will making that trip when we leave Prague in late August. We'll be driving and meeting him in Belgium if he makes it!

Skvělé video! Čekal jsem že sedačky v první třídě budou klasické červené a né moc pohodlné, ale ČD překvapili
Díky moc :-) U převzatých vozů od ÖBB se sedačky v 1. třídě nechávaly s původním čalouněním (vozy ABmz346 a Amz138), což je dobře. Ty Siemensy jsou opravdu pohodlné :-)
Bayerisch Eisenstein - laut wikipedia: "Am 21. Februar 1951 wurde der Gemeindename amtlich von Eisenstein in Bayerisch Eisenstein geändert.[6] Die Gemeinde entwickelte sich wegen ihrer Abgeschiedenheit, der Nähe zum Großen Arber und des Schneereichtums zu einem beliebten Urlaubsort. Bundespräsident Theodor Heuss verbrachte 1954 seinen Urlaub dort."

Nice train ride, and some very nice scenery on a very nice sunny day. I am glad you went through PLzen, I will take Regiojet from Ostrava to Prague and then CD to Plezen for a few days next April. Thanks for the ride.

Thanks so much! A Class 754 is my favorite diesel locomotive and also a part of my childhood. Otherwise, this railway line is one of the very nice routes, especially in winter there are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

The electric locomotive of the 362 series is one of many locomotives that runs on two voltage systems, because from Klatovy to Beroun there is alternating voltage and from Beroun to Prague there is direct current

Yo bruh! That's another wonderful trip report that you have shown here. Honestly, I'm so caught up with the scenery along the route. It is absolutely picturesque with some great-looking stations as well. 🤩 In comparison with the Yes/No list with the price, I think it is still reasonable since this is an intercity service. Despite being an old coach, the quality and looks still look good as new. I really missed the loc-hauled services here in my home country because loco passenger service has been fully replaced by EMUs or DMUs, the only loco-hauled service left available is the Oriental Express which isn't for regular service and it bypasses my country from Bangkok to Singapore. All in all, your video quality is getting much better :)

I took loads of pictures of the classic Prague Station when it was undergoing massive restoration in 2009. I'd like see your video with a detailed look inside and out since renovations were completed. I absolutely love the rotunda and the intricate details inside the dome.
Reconstruction of Prague hl.n. was only partially completed, some interiors of the historic building have still not been opened. But the main part under the dome is already done, I have it in almost every video that starts at Prague hl.n. (e.g. EuroNight Slovakia or RegioJet Praha to Krakow).

Pete, I'm truly happy that I came across your channel! You take such videos that are delight for people like me, who are in love with trains! Thank you and keep it up! One thing more, could you tell me what are the models of the gimbal and the phone that you use for taking your videos (I can't recognize if it is 13 or 14 Pro Max), what parameters (I mean resolution) do you set for the videos and also, is there something that allows you to prevent your phone and/or gimbal from falling when you take videos from the windows? 😅
Thanks so much! I'm currently using the 13 Pro and a Baseus gimbal. Most of my footage is 1080 full HD / 60 fps. Btw. I don't have any special equipment for filming from an open window (but I don't use a gimbal for these footages) :-D

I traversed the stretch from Plattling via Bayerisches Eisenstein / Zelezna Ruda - Klatowy (loco exchange) - Pilzen and on to prague in the easter of 2011 ! B (249)? coaches in green-white livery with "old-school" toilets.. The old line from Pizen and not through the tunnel ! Back the my train in the late evening also made a stop att Karlstejn !
This is a very nice route, I traveled with agilis from Regensburg to Plattling and then with waldbahn to Bayerisch Eisenstein. B249 coaches were originally dark green, then had green-white livery, which corresponds to the time of your journey :-) Btw. one B249 was still occasionally seen in these colors 2 years ago on Rychlík Vysočina :-D

Thanks so much! In the past, the last train stop was Železná Ruda - město, traffic to the border was resumed again in 1991.

Pěkné video. Už dobu se tam chci vydat, ale jediný problém co mě vždycky tak nějak odradí je 5 a půl hodinová cesta od nás. Tak snad někdy.
Díky moc! Já už to jel podruhé, jednou ještě v zimě, ale to jsem si dával okruh Praha - Cheb - Hof - Regensburg - Plattling - Bayerisch Eisenstein / Železná Ruda - Plzeň - Praha. Pamatuju si že minule se nedalo ani dojet do Prahy, protože se to postupně narvalo lidmi a v Plzni jsem si raději počkal na InterJet :-D
Is Plzen railway station undergoing restoration? It looks like historical gem.
Yes, from 2021 the station is under reconstruction, it should be completed in the middle of 2024.
Rychlík, který využívám v ČR nejvíc. Ale vždycky je to většinou historický Bautzen zážitek v podobě Béček nebo českobudějovických Bee243 😀😀
My měli jen jedno B249, druhé nám měli připojit v Klatovech, ale nakonec se jelo jen ve 4 vozech, přestože aplikace celou cestu ukazovala že máme 5 vozů :-D

Jo a ještě jedna věc, zrovna bydlím v Libčicích, takže tam tudy i Krušnohoří projíždí - taky tam jezdí S4 kterou jsi taky jel
Natočil by jsi prosím někdy video trip z Prahy Masarykova n. Třeba do Slaného spěšným Válkem (R44)? Právě tenhle spěšný vlak zastavuje i v Libčicích
To je ten Sp co dříve jezdil až do Loun, ne? Ten jsem už sledoval že bych mohl zkusit, teď tam tuším jezdí Hydra.
how was the temperture on the train
I think around 22 Celsius degrees. Air conditioning worked well..otherwise it was about 30 Celsius degrees that day.

Až si říkám, jestli to není škoda na tenhle rychlík , co nahoře staví skoro všude dávat takovouto soupravu, kde až na to zatoulané béčko to jsou vozy IC/EC kategorie. Pak se podíváš třeba na soupravu R10, 11, nebo 12 a to je nebe a dudy (co depo dá).
Celkem ano, on je to spíše spěšný vlak než rychlík, co se týče počtu zastávek. Zrovna na té Berounce bohatě postačovaly vozy ABpee347.. Ale bude to spíše tím, že ABmz vozy byly původně pod Chebem, takže vlastně pod Plzní, co samé vozy Bmz229 s oddílem pro minibar, které jsou pozůstatky z Krušnohoru a Západních expresů. Zrovna na Krakonoše by se tato souprava hodila více.
@@PeteBrandy Minimálně to ABmz a Bbdgmee, zbytek doplnit o Bmz, Bpee a Bdpee co mají v Hradci.
Za mě jediný místo kam patří ABpee je do soupravy se syslem, protože takový sysel-ABpee- 3xBdmpee si dovedu představit na nějakých rychlenkách Praha- Kolín apod.
Is there a date of retirement for gdr coaches ?
The expectation is after the deployment of the new ComfortJet units (so around 2025). But I think that some Bautzen type Y coaches will still remain as backup.
Škoda že chybí záběr jízdy ve špičáckém tunelu
Schválně jsem ještě znovu prošel natočené záběry a bohužel skoro nic nebylo vidět, protože tam dělala odraz ta bílá opěrka hlavy protějšího sedadla, proto jsem to nakonec do videa nedal.
To ta klimatizace tak hučí, nebo mikrofon jen zkresluje? :D
Ona má výdech přímo pod oknem, jinak v těch ABmz je ta klima celkem výkonná.. hlavně jsem to jel zrovna v červenci v den kdy byly ty největší vedra :-D

Ano, a to jsem měl nastavenu klimatizaci aby tolik nechladila. Těmito vozy jsem jezdil často ještě na Krušnohorech a pamatuju si že jsem si v létě bral vždycky do batohu mikinu :-D Jinak hluk tam byl vždy.. myslím že podobně to mají i některé Bmz.
