Ushabti have some of the coolest animations in the game. Sucky melee attack is a minor problem in light of the sheer cool factor.
It is still a shame when you realize that after that beautiful charge attack followed by a couple cool animations you realize they barely did any damage and are losing against peasant spearmen...
@@gustavosanches3454 In fairness to the ushabti, those peasants brought pointy sticks to the fight. Scary stuff.
Animations? They are cool when standing still and posing, like The Fonz. Hey....
I wish I could like their animations. But I get really annoyed that they stand still with their arms crossed for a few seconds after every attack.
Agreed
"You probably want only 2-3 units per army anyways."
But nothing feels better than having a full front line of Ushabti with Great bows supporting them. One of my fav stacks in the game to create.
Im having an army of Ushabti-only right now facing Grimgor. And I just cant beat his ass, tried multiple times already.
sebbienator bring more ushabti
@@mattward4916 Full stack :S
Archers and melee
@@sebbienator bring another full stack army :D
Ah yes, the doggo death pigeon statue.
Kroxigors seeing ushabti: Are you mocking me?
Ushabti: yes
That meele attack is ridiculously low. Holy moly.
Yeah they rely a lot on that bonus vs infantry. If they fight Cav they're gonna take a long time to slice through them
@@jerec1267 You'd think they would have a better chance to hit larger targets like cav.
I think they should have bonus vs both, or at least a great weapon version. They’re wielding scythes the size of a man, I don’t think a horse would be able to resist that
@@johndane9754 Most cav have really low melee defense. It's not uncommon to see low tier sword cav or shock cav with 21 MD. Ushabti aren't going to win against any elite cav though.
In my opinion, the real issue is low leadership and charge bonus. They usually die to crumbling if they get focused for a bit, meaning their good armor and decent Melee Defense does not offer sufficient protection. And Monstrous Infantry really should have a base of 20+ Charge bonus. I mean, all that momentum and the charge bonus is only as good as some infantry units.
Ushabti in 3 seconds:
Don't bother. Bring Ushabti with great bows!
Ushabti greatbows have arrows that split into fragments before hitting the targets. Didn't see that until recently
@@caketakeshh
The RoR one actually, the regular one does not have that.
Yes of enemy is dwarves, has giant monsters. They so work for you. if you micro them and right to do flanking attacks they'll destroy entire units.
@@Asraeks Why shoot over walls when you can just shoot the walls!
With TKs you don't have much choice - you have lots of armies for free and your struggle is to keep them stocked with sensible units. You can put ushabti gbs in one army but then in your 5th army you will have a choice: put skeleton spearmen or ushabti (that you unlocked anyway). You will choose ushabti cause even if they suck as monstrous infantry, they are still better than the free chaff skeletons.
Necrotect in 100 seconds.
I can tell i'm going to love this "in 100 seconds" series.
Well, i always put a full stack of them in lamizashs army, plus 3 or 4 great bows, and attach the two heralds that give frenzy and hawkish precision to the whole army. For me, thats the most fun to play army in the whole game.
I just realised that they have lizard men heads
Some have crocodilian heads. Some Hawk heads, some Jackal, and a fourth i can not think of now.
They don't.
Love these soldier's 5 type vids. Keep em coming lad!
I like this style of single unit videos! Concise and to the point!
Really enjoying these videos. Keep them coming
I died at that "OooAAahaarrR!"😂😂
YES. This series is gold :)
I love Ushabti, and this video was good to see some ways I could be more conscious about improving them in campaign. Their MA is just abysmal my god. Great video Zerk
I love this kind of videos ❤️
This are perfect videos to see to cool donw my nerves before a meeting at work
I just love the concept of living statues fighting at your command
I use them as support for the frontline and specially on the weakest enemy side. Break that side with the ushabtis, then let en charge from behind. Never use them as defensive units and I say never cause they hold well at the beginning but all of the sudden they start to lose a lot of hp after about 15/20 secs of fighting. They're good at defending gates though
I always saw them as t-34 of monstrous infantry, good mobility, ok defence, and mediocre offence, so you need crapton of them
That last part lmao
"Only two or three in an army" - laughs in a whole army of Ushabti and a few Necrotects, with the Ushabti herald attached. Yeah, that's no doomstack, but oh boy does it wreck the enemy infantry-based armies into oblivion.
Use the tomb king that has buffs to Ushabti on top of that and they can put out some hurt
Oh, I do. Forget to mention that.
When you have a stack of 13 Ushabti with 60-70 MA and 6 Bow Ushabti, yeah it's pretty much a doomstack.
At 0:08 bird guy just had a belt fart. Woah.
Love those videos they are soooo helpfull :D
My will be done is another good way to get that melee attack up.
Y'know, maybe it's just me, but personally, I think these guys would be a whole lot better if they simply swapped the melee attack/defense stats... 23 base Melee Attack on a supposed "damage dealer" unit is utterly pitiful.
Maybe, but they still do well in their intended role. Killing swathes of low and mid-tier infantry and acting as a bulwark. For killing higher tier stuff, you rely more on other constructs. Personally I would love a leadership buff so that they wont crumble as fast. That and a bit more charge bonus(this is true for most monstrous infantry. I dont get why a lot of them have below 20).
It's Tomb Kings, they are on the weakest spot since I can remember. They will probably be OP again with new, expensive DLC... as always in TW2
@@maciejglowacki1997 Uh, I don't think WH2 will have much more DLCs. We are already heading to WH3.
If anything WH2 will receive only one more DLC (or two at best) before WH3 release.
@@victuz Everyone thought the Warden and the Paunch was going to be the last DLC too. I'm sure CA is paying attention to how well these late-life DLCs are doing, and considering wether to keep adding more, or to just wait until TW3
@@afroskivanpunchapig5256 I bet WH3 will be announced in April 2021, if not, then on E3 or the second half of 2021.
This is all good, tonight I start my first TK campaign, Thanks Zerko
That Necrotect introduction is immaculate.
Such a pain in the ass starting off in the tomb king campaigns. But they are awesome once you FINALLY get to tier 3 units Such a pain though
I have a doomstack army that is 4 bone giants, 14 ushabti greatbows 1 necrotect and I believe 3rd dynasty general that slays all.
THATSUSHABTIINONEHUNDREDSECONDS
Live and learn.. Live and learn! 🙂
We need more 100second videos
I love doing full Ushabti stack and reanact Anubis army from Mummy :D :D
Pretty sure you want as many necrotects as possible when playing as tomb kings and not just as a support for construct units as they increase army capacity after lvl 10.
Keept hese videos up pls!!
Coolest TK unit
This units can round up to a couple hundred kills, they are good in my book. They have good endurance too, not super squishy like chaos spawns and the sort.
i don't use the necrotech enough
King Lahmizash likes this!
did the ushapti get their charge bonus when charging trough the front line @ 1:20 ?
Now do the blood knight and dragon in 100 second
What did he say in the last part of the video
Yes the melee attack sucks but their attack has a huge cone space, in a tight formation they will cut through enemy like grass.
You do know how splash attacks work, right?
@@fendelphi you didn't know how to read right?
@@venox3811 It does not matter how big "cone space"-attack is, since there is a maximum number of targets that can take damage per attack, and the damage done is your total damage divided by potential targets. A bigger cone makes it easier to reach max splash targets, but it wont increase your theoretical damage output.
@@fendelphi the fact of the matter is that when an Ushabiti swings in on tight formation infantry multiple heads roll and that's what I mean.
@@venox3811 As does other monstrous infantry. The fact of the matter is, Ushabti has very low Melee Attack and Charge bonus compared to most other Monstrous Infantry(with only Treekin being worse). They kind of make up for it with high Melee Defense(for Monstrous Infantry), armor and the fact that they will never run away.
It is still a fairly decent unit with a role within a Tombking army. But that does not change their offense is lower than most Monstrous units and that they perform bad against anything other than tier 1-3 infantry.
Low melee attack is not an issue. You put them with Lamizzash, buff them to the hilt & give them frenzy with the herald. That plus the dynasty tree buffs and the melee attack issue is *gone*. If you really want to go overkill, throw birona's timewarp in there and watch the high-speed whirlwind meat grinder punch through whatever you direct it at.
That's all well & good in campaign... sadly doesn't change the fact that in multiplayer, they're pretty much deadweight..!
@@PeteTheGrouch And on top of that, it is unique to 1 lord. And other units gets comparable offense or defense buffs, so it is still low by comparison.
That being said, they still fulfil the role of cutting through tier 1-3 infantry and helps stabilize the frontline.
Ushabti the unit I refer to as not as good as actual trolls which stand alongside skeletons aka not as good as real infantry, skeleton cav aka not as good as real cav, Necropolis Knights aka not as good as Demigryphs and the big kitty, the Warsphinx aka not as good as a Mammoth.
But, they never run away.
Has anyone ever told you you sound almost exactly like Korg from Thor Ragnarok? xD
What was the last sentence?
_"That's Ushabtiinonehundredseconds."_
Ushabti are the units with the worst ratio look - performance. They are so scary to look at, but for the look you'd expect they would pack a bigger punch.
*happy bone clicking noises*
xd
Ushabti are (some of) the coolest looking units, who are sadly rather shit. Mediocre defenses, mediocre damage output capability. Their respectable speed and the cool semi-ability shared by all TK constructs, which is the ability to seamlessly charge and retreat through their skeleton line, makes them a decent medium cavalry with a twist, but nothing more. The most annoying thing about them is that the necrotect's heal is mostly wasted on them because it doesn't resurrect models (and ushabti are the only multi-model construct of TKs). Their redeeming grace is the fact they are the only construct with a tier 3 "dwelling", so you can increase their cap a lot with minor settlements, although I still don't know why you would choose a single ushabti above 4 chariots and a the amazing artillery. The main reason to field ushabti is because you want ushabti greatbows, the premiere armor-piercing artillery of TKs (bone giant is only truly effective against big, slow single entities), and you get ushabti by the way of getting these, although when we're talking province capitals, I always choose to get Warsphinx, Necrosphinx or Scorpions and I will only think of ushabti gbs as an alternative to necropolis knights or bone giant.
Damn it's such a shame that one of the weakest factions in game is also one of the coolest (graphic style speaking)
They are perfectly fine in multiplayer. Campaign tho...
