    We often get asked for coordinates to the amazing campsites we find, but I'm a firm believer that it's better to teach someone how to fish than .... well, you know how the saying goes. So, I decided to put together this video sharing all my "secrets" when it comes to how I go about finding epic campsites. Hope you all find this helpful, and if you have any questions ... drop them here in the comments and I'll make sure to answer them!

    This is probably one of the best videos I’ve seen that covers how to do your own research on finding a good spot. Very well done sir and thank you for putting this together!

    Really nice breakdown of how to use some mouse clicks to find some great spots. And some good advice about if people aren’t sure to get out and look ( or pop a drone up if they have one) before proceeding. Definitely need to be comfortable with backing down narrow roads that don’t work out and also doing those mid road turnarounds where panicked passengers shakily jump out of the rig. Also have some alternatives sites picked out cause new gates are getting put up every year due to asshats not respecting the lands.

    Also on Google maps, if you right click the coordinates are on the top of pop-up menu and by left clicking on it will auto copy to clipboard.

    I’m very new to this , would love either an explanation or video on where we can camp I.e you’re always good to camp at xyz places and how to figure that out . For me it’s very tough to know yes I can go overland and camp there or no I cannot

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  Před rokem +2

      Ahh yes, thanks for bringing this up! That could make a great video topic so perhaps I'll put a video together explaining that.
      The brief explanation of how I figure it out is by using the 'public lands' map layer in Gaia. Some other mapping softwares have this layer as well....but it's very helpful.
      Generally speaking, you're good to dispersed camp in national forest land and BLM land ... so I'll usually look at that map layer to get confirmation that the spot we're gonna set up camp is indeed public land.

    Thanks for this, very well organized and useful info! Your channel is chock full of quality content and deserves more views and subscribers. I guess you need more clickbait, deceptive titles, thirst traps, dialogue that hurts everyone's ears, annoying music, etc. (\sarcasm)

      Hahaha, thanks man! Glad you're digging the channel and I'll get to work on those thirst traps immediately! 😄
