@@EsmaaBe sadly I don't know :( if you find out please tell me!!
Yess, they seem so interesting
Right.
Lmao you people are so gullible
It's really saddening to see how much artists struggle to make the money they deserve. I've been trying for months to make money off my designs and it's really discouraging when you don't see a lot of traffic on your work while others make so many sales off of rushed designs or copyrighted material. Or when you do see a lot of traffic on your work, it's just a bunch of people favouriting it but not actually buying it.
*Edit since some people seem to think that I'm a starving artist with no money. Lmao so obviously I have a full time job and have food. My post was referring to my online shops and artists in general (graphic designers, illustrators, fine artists, etc)
I went to college in 2010 for drawing. I already knew then that traditional art was in danger of being snuffed out. It devastates me so much. The only thing I have spent money on period is art. Original paintings and prints from a brilliant friend and my favorite Etsy artists. All of them end up costing at least $350 with the frames. Some almost $500. I spare no expense when it comes to art and I canât stand when others steal peopleâs pieces. Something I hate about this generation is stealing peopleâs art and tattooing it on themselves in masses. I wonât show my art to anyone except people I am close to. I couldnât deal with the fine art world, I didnât want to put myself in a box. I couldnât stand commissions. I did two and it wasnât worth the time or money for me to draw someoneâs dog, son, or what have you. Same goes with tattooing that I had an offer for. Iâd rather do it for myself not for the world and I am damn glad I decided that before we entered this age of thievery. Long nonsensical rant. I havenât slept in almost two days.
You need to work on your marketing and sales skills. If you can sell well, you can sell anything.
I feel that. I would have rather gone to school for art but realistically, only thing thatâs plentiful of job opportunities out there for art degrees are art teachers. Decided to keep it as a hobby and pursue business where my second passion lies. Able to fund my hobbies through it fortunately.
@@MollyHuffle I am very glad you pursued your second passion in business. I was a dual major in psychology and art. I would never give up on getting my degree in art. I both learned so much and it was such a brilliant experience. I ultimately wanted to be a therapist, but it didnât work out for reasons unrelated to this. I also had a spot in the BFA program, but had to leave school and only got my BA. You truly can succeed in the art world if you go to grad school quite often if you are truly dedicated. Like I already said though, I didnât want to put myself in that fine art box. I would have loved to do a year more of it at graduate level. I went to a beautiful college, full of beautiful people. I did get great grades and especially succeeded in art. If you are an artist and it is your passion, go to school for it. You wonât regret it. Be a double major for backup and pour your everything into art.

I really resonated with the stay at home mom and how she got her money. My father passed to, and left his money for my college expenses, and I get the rest when Iâm 21. Itâs one of those things where I feel so guilty about having it, especially since itâs not like I necessarily earned it. I feel like I need to struggle like my sisters did, but Iâm getting off free which feels not good..
You don't need to feel bad. I doubt your father would want you to, and there's no shame in not struggling. Besides you are struggling - you lost your Dad at a young age, and that's tough at any age. I'm sorry for your loss. Take that money, live your best life, and look forward.
Don't feel bad. Everything works for a reason. Your father had you in mind when his time was up. He wanted to make sure you were taking care of. Sucks that all parents don't do that but you are blessed.
don't feel guilty... you are his daughter and if you didn't even deserve it in your eyes, nobody else would more than you...
I honestly canât tell you how to feel. Have the comfort in knowing your father worked hard so that you wouldnât have to. Itâs not free. Just make sure that you are able to do the same for your children.

I think also though a lot may have come from tips as well.
I paused before I heard her speak to find a comment on her. I was shocked when I saw her at $20k. I assumed she was a trust fund baby. Now I already have my answer.
