  • Having my hallway modernized, and bought some ceiling mounted spotlights, really cheap,, so decided I wanted 11 spots in that small hallway.
And then decided I wanted smart bulbs in them,, so to keep the prices down I am going with IKEA TrådFri GU10 bulbs, instead of Philips hue,, ½ prices. Bu I want to control them with the hue App and connect them to the Philips hue HUB.

You can actually take a knife and cut the tape for getting into the packaging. Highly recommended! I also recommend for your channel and channel viewers to get some knowledge on the Google Assistant. I know it’s probably not an appletastic opinion but both the Trådfri and the hue is applicable on the GA. Bonus info. IKEA is now on the board of Zigbee and in the future integration between different manufacturers is expected to better.

So I have recently refurbished my house and went a little crazy. Some areas use "dumb" LED but others use lamps with hue bulbs, hue being.
I also purchased 2 whole boxes of the previous gu10 tradfri bulbs from IKEA. I had to pair with touch link. But their brightness was more. The 3rd gen version which you have are better for pairing now the software has been sorted. You can't update the IKEA bulbs without their hub
I also have gledopto gu10 RGB in lots of rooms and I purchased 3 rgbcwww led controllers for led strip.
I must say they were easier to pair than IKEA bulbs. All work fine with Alexa and the hue sensors I have.
For white gu10s I will always recommend IKEA ones. For RGB j recommend gledopto and for e27 or b22 it's hue bulbs.
Keep in mind i can only use hue entertainment with hue bulbs only. I have to use 3rd party software for other brands.
Personally I purchased the cheapest IKEA floor standing lamp and used e27 hue around the room with my Philips TV with amb light.

Morten, you can spend a lot of money, when you install an Iobroker as a virtual machine and control the Tradfry-bulbs over the IoBroker Hue-Adapter together wit the IoBroker yahka-adapter (Homekit-Adapter).
All the devices they not work with Siri you can put in and control over a self-made HomeKit-bridge.
Also you tiny mini plugs (WR01W or OT06, if there have power monitor) can be controlled with IoBroker without any chinese cloud-solutions, also with Siri😉

Great idea to make a simple wire so you can easy pair the bulbs. Nowadays IKEA does have a Tradfri COLOR GU10 bulb (part number 804.392.28) for a very good price. Gracias!
