For any Sony NEX owner using old manual focus lenses (Canon, Nikon, Minolta, etc), be sure to use the "Focus Peaking" feature in you camera to help get sharp focus on your subject. This is a bit of an oversight in this video.
Hopefully you can help me out here as I'm still new to older lenses being used on my Nex. I bought Tokina 70-210 lens that has the C/FD mount. I just received the lens, but still waiting for my FD adapter. My question to you is, the aperture blades will not open or close when I look into the lens as I turn the aperture. Is this because the lens needs to be mounted onto the adapter and then locked in order for the aperture to then be adjusted? The previous Minolta 50mm MD lens I bought did not need to be mounted onto the adapter for the aperture to open n close. So I'm a bit confused why the Tokina's aperture doesn't open n close.
Thanks for putting this video together, I was curious about the FD adapter!
nice thanks for the video very straight forward. got this set up for my nex7 can't wait to try it out
