It should be noted that by the end of the movie, Beast is only 21, and the curse lasted 10 years. So he was ONLY 11 when he was cursed by the Enchantress
That enchantress is pretty heartless to curse a child for being rude or selfish
@@SebasTian58323 or the prince didn't age during his beast period
We also see Beast as a kid with long hair in the old sequel animated movie.
@@SebasTian58323 I mean he was 11, if you were a child and a random old lady went to your house and asked to come in, you would say no cause yk “stranger danger?”
@@gwyngwyn_2416 it was France in the 1700s I dont think stranger danger was a common knowledge thing
Beast isn't just handsome and white, he's royalty. That's basically like being a celebrity in a Podunk place in France.
Nah being royalty means he gets the guillotine.
The Beast needs to get 15 years
The Beast never kidnapped Belle, she offered to stay there. The actual kidnapping was of Maurice and so on this technicality, case dismissed
*slams hands on table and points aggressively*
Objection!!
Sorry, had to do it.
Still doesn't negate the abuse, but you're right.
Technically speaking, it would be the False Imprisonment charge that is dropped, since the initial kidnapping charge is still (possibly) on the table.
# 001 I mean all things considered, Beast nearly getting mauled to death by a pack of wolves whilst trying to save Belle pretty much negates all the bad things he's done to both her and Maurice. But that's just me.
@@bulbasaur15 Not legally. There isn't a oh after committing a crime against this person I saved there life so it doesn't count clause.
It could also be argued that Jafar could be slapped w/ a charge relating to him being creepy an attracted to Jasmine (who is canonically under 18). He DID attempt to wish that Jasmine was in love with him and didn't object to her fake flirting and kissing him.
Even the Dad (who was desperate to marry off his Daughter) was disturbed by that. “…but you’re so OLD!”
@Buff That crime would be either pedophilia, forced child marriage, and possible statutory rape (thankfully, it never seek to fruition since Aladdin is a family-friendly movie). 🤢🤮😱
@@egeorgiades93 And yet the Sultan allowed that ugly creepy faker to marry his underaged daughter?! Talk about 'Father-of-the-Year' award, am I right. 👏🏼👏🏼🏆👆🏼👎🏼🚫🙅🏽♀️😒
Dude, not only is he in an Islamic country, he's in a _medieval_ Islamic country. They're still marrying adult men to kids over there, let alone all the gross shit that was happening all over the developed half of the world in medieval times...
"He shall smite the wicked, and plunge them into the fiery depths of hell"
He couldn't be more right
Yeah the true criminal in Beauty and the Beast was the sorceress who turned the Beast into a beast simply because he was an asshole. Not helped by the fact that the timeline of the original story the prince was like 11 when he got cursed. Like seriously, and that terrible woman not only cursed him but turned all of the people in the castle into objects? (We actually see Beast as a kid getting cursed in the sequel animated movie from what I know.)
Wickedbinge should have given the Aladdin character penalties according to Sharia Law, because canonically the penalty for stealing in Agrabah is to have the hand with which you stole something cut off.
But there is rules of the hands cutting. Like 30 of them. but the mean ones are: the things stolen must be more than 50 dollars, He must be not in need for the food so If he needs it he will not get punished...which Aladdin didn't achieve so he will not get punished
I'm actually curious how many years in prison they would give The Coachman from Pinocchio you know the dude who's been kidnapping children for God knows how many years
@@morgothable wouldn't they be a little short on evidence though seeing as how he sells them after he makes them into donkeys and they only takes the ones that can't turn his ass into the cops
John Smith is called John Smith because that's the name of the real guy lol
He was also like 40 when Pocahontas was in her teens and a real crewp. He's lucky the FBI didn't exist back then.
Jafar looked at the book of crimes and said yes
I want someone to go through the movies and do an assessment of what, if any, crimes were committed and what the sentencing would be based on the laws of the time and country in which they occurred.
Lafou = La Fou = La Fool = The Fool. I was today years old when I realized this.
Uh......so we’re just supposed to ignore the historically inaccurate statement about the film of Beauty & The Beast taking place in the late 1700s when there were witch trials in France? The last recorded witch trial in any part of France was in 1745 and they were also trials regarding theft of church property. There were multiple people involved in the thefts and those that couldn’t be found guilty of theft directly, but had admitted to being involved, were sentenced to witch craft. Some were executed, some were exiled, and some were just given fines. 1745 isn’t exactly what most people would consider “the late 1700s”. Usually when dividing up a century early is the 00s and 10s and 20s and 30s, middle is the 40s and 50s and 60s, and late is the 70s and 80s and 90s. By the late 1700s in France the nation was either struggling economically, politically, or was in all out revolution. The authorities weren’t killing people due to witch craft (though there certainly was still a lot of executions for many other reasons). Also if this is the late 1700s, then Gaston’s attempt to murder a member of the First Estate would’ve resulted in the death penalty. The courts were literally run by the First Estate and Gaston isn’t a prince or holder of any peerages whereas the Beast is literally a prince.
Then we get to Gazeem and apparently the narrator says he’s using US states’ laws? Umm...okay, then no state currently has laws making witch craft illegal and there are states that don’t have the death penalty. Also most states with the death penalty limit it to lethal injection, gas chamber, electric chair, or firing squad (or in my state we also have the use of nitrogen hypoxia although we’re the only state to have that). Also in the US, if a pet is involved in the commission of a crime, it’s euthanized. So not sure why this person thinks we would put a bird in prison. In the US, treason is punishable by death and treason is clearly defined in the US Constitution. Jafar wouldn’t get a life sentence and even if he just tried to overthrow a state’s government, he’d be tried in federal court because treason (of any government within the boundaries of the United States) is a federal offense.
Since Ratcliff was a real person, you can actually learn about him. He definitely was not well liked by colonists and was viewed as being unnecessarily aggressive with the natives and mismanagement of resources, food, and money. Disney opting to make him a villain in Pocahontas is definitely taking a page from history itself. Ratcliff does die, but not at the hands of the colonists. He’s captured by a native tribe whom surviving colonists who escaped wrote had his clothing removed, he was tied to a large stake, he had his skin slowly cut off little by little from his body and put into a nearby fire, and then once they had removed all his outer layers of skin, they threw him the fire. Some historians aren’t sure how accurately we should take these accounts due to how negatively the colonists viewed him and how seemingly gleeful they told of his demise. But he was killed by a native tribe that he had broken promises with, been in conflict with, etc numerous times.
Why is John Smith called John Smith? Because that was his actual name. He’s most well known in history for 1) mapping a lot of Virginia and the region of the US that’s called New England and 2) for advocating that England adopt the measures the French had with regards to the native tribes in the Americas by setting up trading posts and simply trading with them. Instead the English would adopt the Spanish model of aggression, enslavement, and land theft. Thus ultimately ignoring Smith, who at the time had had the most contact with the natives and took the time to learn from them about them and the New World.
As for the sentencing of Frollo. Again, I guess we’re not going to be consistent with punishment, the narrator again makes a historical inaccuracy. He says that as the story takes place in the medieval period then Frollo could be punished by guillotine. Ummm....Dr. Joseph Guillotine wouldn’t invent the guillotine until 1789....which is part of the modern era, not the medieval era. The most common methods of capital punishment in medieval France were hanging or burning. Decapitation by sword was another method, but it was reserved only for the First Estate. Frollo is an archdeacon and thus a member of the Second Estate so couldn’t be decapitated this way.
I really enjoyed your reaction to this video. You made it through it without much issue, though I agree that some sentences seemed too harsh or too light for the crimes. You seemed to have a better grasp at proscribing justice to these characters than the person who made the original. I think the film would’ve been better if the video author stuck to a standard for proscribing punishment and had researched a bit of history so as to not make historical errors in statements or having punishments seem haphazard. Like why would any of the US’s legal systems be used to proscribe punishment on characters that aren’t Americans nor committing their crimes when and where the US would have jurisdiction? Really strange to me. And since he’s using states’ laws...which states? And why those states?
Great video reaction! Thanks for making and sharing it!!!
Lifetime prison is way harder than the easy exit of death.
Pretty sure regicide and treason are punishable by death penalty, so I frankly disagree with the allegations and sentencing of Gaston... especially given the time period: can anyone say "Gunpowder Treason"?
Well, they did say Gaston theoretically SHOULD recieve a harsher sentence, but he also holds a lot of influence and sway over his general public. Unfortunate as it is he could most likely weasel his way into a lighter sentence; and even the Beast would probably just imprison him (seeing how he had a perfect opportunity to kill Gaston and chose not to).
I can say it, but I dunno what it means.
life in prison seems so much worse than the death sentence
True but Jafar is a Magic Man and crafty one at that. He will find a way to escape with or without the staff.
This feels like something MatPat would do, that would be very interesting actually seeing him try this for a few movies, maybe can even be a multi part thing, something to do ever so often
I absolutely love that idea also have him add up there crimes if there was in all real world
The enchantress not only transformed the castle staff but erased the memories of the townsfolk.
What about Alladin's crimes? He is a thief and faked his own identity
# 001 Well that's why he and the palace guards aren't exactly buddy-buddy with each other, even if married to Jasmine. Heck the 3rd movie with Aladdin's dad Caseem in the mix made things somewhat interesting.
What are you talking about all Disney villains are sentenced for their crimes…
Sentenced to death that is.
I mean your not wrong
Prince John didn't die.
Jafar was made immortal and trapped in a lamp.
99% of them are
Great reaction! We're working on Part 2 😀
Please get better writers and do more research instead of this garbage
That Guy reacted to your videos 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Jafar should've had an additional charge of s**ual harassment for his treatment and behavior towards Jasmine.
Frollo also
I love your channel keep up the great stuff!
Treason is only a crime If you fail
They forgot Excommunication for frolo
Did anyone else notice Frollo's inmate number was 666? Lol!
Keep making great videos pat!!
I write for WickedBinge and a couple of their side channels! Glad to see it get more recognition especially from channels as big as yours!
I carried chat to 2 wins tbh.
Noticed when I wasn't in the first 2 streams chat failed but when I was in the next one they won twice?
You were throwing tbh. Noticed when you joined chat still lost?
@@CR1MSONACE I threw the second match not gonna lie. I was praying on chat's downfall since I forgot to turn on allow Gifted subs🗿
@@AsinfulParadox one does not simply "forget" to turn them on. They're off by default, I need to find how to change default to yes if you can
There's a channel called popcross studios. He has a series drawing Pokémon as SCPs. It's really fun and would make a cool watch.
Just from live, we caught a shiny and I dont know how we pulled that 😆
Everyone in beauty and the beast should get the max sentence for being French
In the case of Gazeem, in the US court system, 25 years is actually considered a "life sentence"
I have the feeling the makers of that video didn't really know how to use the word 'monsieur'.
Jafar was also a SORCERER IN THE MIDDLE EAST. Magic is a big no-no over there. Definitely death.
In french monsieur d'arque is pronounced monsieur dark
In some countries there are still laws against magic
I’m surprised Aladdin didn’t make the list considering he’s literally thief, but compared to most of the other crimes on this list I guess it makes sense it didn’t make the cut
Ummm, missing some sexual harassment there for Frollo
@Venom Unfortunately, sexual abuse wasn't considered a crime in the 15th century. But I agree with you, what Frollo did to Esmeralda was beyond sexual harassment. It was FREAKIN ATTEMPTED RAPE!!
This was really good
well beast being turned into a beast was his punishment for how terrible he was, idk if that was the enchantress's goal but it for sure was a way of teching him to become better
Came from the stream, I can't believe we actually found a shiny haha
Disney bad that stream was mad
Bee bad
Putting Iago on trial? What is this phoenix wright?
Frollo did not go splat, he fell DIRECTLY into Hell
Iago looks to be based off a macaw parrot which means it can live up to 90yrs. Most of those in the "parrot" family can like like 20+ years defending on the species.
great vid pat
Who's here after the stream. That darned Beedrill
sucks, i chose him for the win but then I realized about the 2 factors that determined it
1 I knew we should have submitted weedle or carterpie
I'm still mad I missclicked to keep it
I really thought i would have won but i didn't know the factors
@@levilouislaelsvideos8225 ya sure?
Maybe it's not magic but I heard Canada still has some laws against witchcraft
If we're trying this as if it went to court of law 2022 you would have to be able to find the bodies that the first guy in The Aladdin movie killed to prove that he killed them and more than likely they were buried in shallow Graves some animal came along ate up all the fun bits
I mean, wasn't the beast a 12 year old when he got cursed? That'd probably pardone him of wrongly treating his subjects while in power right?
and since there no king or queen objects I assume he was without parents to teach him and just had his servants
10000 years in the cave of wonders should be enough to cool down!
The Beast should've go to jail
Throughout this you sound like a lawyer ❤❤😂
If you believe Matt Pat's theory at the very oldest that the beast could have been when the enchantress came to him he was 11 years old that would be ausalt against a minor
D’arque makes sense for a death penalty. His name is basically mr dark.
Im not sure but i think the asylum owner and frollo from hond have the same voice actor tony jay
I feel like a lawyer should have made this video, not these people..
Patterrz: Only 25 years?!
Me: My cousins wife killed their infant daughter and got 2 years dude. American justice system sucks ass
Yeah, it's extremely biased and women more often than not get off easy.
