  • The REFRESHED Santa Fe has an ALL NEW trim for 2021 and Hyundai is not messing around. Under the hood is the new 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 that is producing 277HP & mated to an 8-speed DCT transmission. Getting power to the ground is the H-TRAC AWD system. On the outside you will find a unique grill, wheels, and finished. On the inside luxury is the name of the game with Nappa leather seating, 12in digital display, and new center console layout. Is the NEW 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy a midsize luxury SUV to BUY?

I just got the Sonata N-Line in stormy sea blue and boy do I love this car. Where Hyundai has come from and what they are today, it's amazing. Same thing applies to KIA. People are missing out because they may not like the name attached to it, but KIA is not what is was known years ago, same as Hyundai. Hyundai did wonders bringing in Albert Biermann from BMW as he was at the helm of their M Division.

I wanted to thank you so much for your reviews on this vehicle! I was on the fence between the Palisade and the Calligraphy. I love the Palisade, but I couldn't justify the price when I don't need the third row! I bought the Calligraphy 2.5T AWD today and I LOVE it! I got the Portofino Gray with Coquina Beige interior! Very sexy!!! This is my second Santa Fe. I had a 2008 Santa Fe with 150k miles but I had to replace it because it had a 2" inch hole in the frame due to corrosion. The frame couldn't be repaired so Hyundai did the right thing and bought it back from me. What an awesome company! Again, thanks so much for the reviews and advice!

I like how you also point out other things in the vehicles such as “hydraulic struts” for the hood and also important are AC Seats. I agree and like how you point out that the rear wipers should be hidden under the rear spoilers like the new Sorentos. Always thankful for your reviews + teamwork with your wife. I agree with your perspective on the zonks/price points. It would've been nice for a dual or dual tip exhaust, pocket for behind the driver's seat, rear zone climate, and truthfully just not a fan of the way Hyundai and Kia do some of the rear turn signals for select vehicles. Everything else in incredible for what they're offering. I think little things like that + maybe better mpg overall on their vehicles would make them top tier with everything they're offering with purchases right now. Strong builds nonetheless.

Your videos were a huge deciding factor from upgrading from my 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T AWD sport. What i don’t like about the 2021 is the the huge button layout between the driver and passenger. That put me off of the 2021 along with not having a shift lever. The 235 hp is more than adequate. DO i wish i had the 2.5? Absolutely, but i got a pretty solid deal on the 2020 that i couldn’t pass up!

Bought a 2022 in Limited trim and absolutely love it. The fit, finish and overall build quality reminds me of what Lexus was putting out a decade ago. I looked at a couple pre-owned Lexus SUVs prior to buying my Santa Fe and wasn’t very impressed, it seems they’re built to a lower standard than decades ago.
Every time I drive the Santa Fe I’m absolutely amazed by the quality and tech one gets for the price, even at MSRP, which nearly every buyer is forced to pay these days. Even the headliner and carpet are more akin to what you’d find in a luxury vehicle. Allegedly, Hyundai can offer their vehicles for such low prices because they supply their own steel. Whatever the case, it blows my mind that buyers were paying similar money for a Lexus RX330 in the year 2005. Here we are 17 years later and $42K buys a vehicle that’s better in every regard, maybe with exception of resale value.
I agree the single exhaust outlet is a zonk but I can respect that Hyundai isn’t playing pretend by splitting the exhaust of a 4-cylinder. Splitting the exhaust of a 4-cylinder seems almost as silly as fake hood scoops and simulated exhaust rumble.
I didn’t much care for the front-end styling of the Santa Fe at first. In fact, I thought it rather ugly, but it has grown on me quite a lot, it’s sort of an “attractive ugly.”

I must say that I love all of your reviews. They are useful unlike most others. But you can maybe point out how wide the back doors open and how easy it is to get the to car seats latches in the cars? It is important for us mommas when finding a vehicle that fits car seats. Thank you 😊.

Great Channel Sir!! Nothing like a Cup of Coffee and a Zonk or 2, with Joe in the morning. As for this Hyundai I give it a
7 out of 10. Change the wheels and add fog lights, might help......

I recently purchased the 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy after doing my research for about a year or more. I was looking at 8-10 different vehicles including the Genesis GV70. Having sold cars for over 20 years and owning at least 20 new vehicles I have to say I'm impressed with this one.
It has a ton of power, especially considering it's a 4 cylinder turbo, 281 horsepower is plenty for me with 311 torque, wow!
With gas prices going thru the roof I wanted something that used regular instead of high test, and I wanted AWD, and tons of tech....the calligraphy has more features than the GV70 with the same engine and it's about 10k less....I know it doesn't look as good but I'm OK with that. Anyway I think it's a great value and I plan to keep it longer than most of the others I have owned, at least thru the warranty period, 5 years 60k.

Loving the blacked out grille and the wheels looks great (homage to AMG?). Trading in my Mazda CX-5 for a Genesis GV70 or GV80 in a few years hopefully.. Keep up the amazing work!

Although it's only a refresh, this Santa Fe is actually riding on a brand new platform shared with the all new Sorento. They did this so that going forward, the two can be on the same generation cycle.

No danke da wveells. My wife has the palisade limited, and I don’t like those wheels either. But it’s our first Hyundai and after a year continues to impress us. I’m watching this for my new car shopping. She got her turn...

Been waiting on you to review this Calligraphy trim, especially since no dealer within 100 miles of me even has one in stock yet for me to sit in myself! I'm really liking this Santa Fe but for not much more I can get myself RDX A-Spec or even the 2021 Buick Envision Avenir. I've always driven Hyundai mainly due to their awesome warranty and the care I've gotten at my local dealers but I feel like I'm at that point in my life where I want a more luxurious car. I feel like I've earned it. This car looks the part but at the end of the day you're still sporting a Hyundai badge (and a Chrome one on a black grill at that! LOL).
