    I absolutely look forward to these videos and your experiences! I found when I read the cases in the case book, I watch Quimbee videos of the case. It helps so much!

    Hey Macy! Does NWCU report to clearinghouse that students are half time? I’m wondering if I’ll have to pay my loans will enrolled at this school since I wouldn’t be taking out loans and paying out of pocket

    May I ask, outside of the one-time payment of $495.00 for the school’s recorded and online materials, what should I anticipate cost wise for the actual physical books you show in this video? Appreciate your help.

    Thanks 👍 how does the yearly calendar look for a first-year law student? Like how many classes and for how long is there a break in between like a month or 2 weeks before the second or third session of the year

    • @MacyySuee
      @MacyySuee  Před 2 měsíci

      1L students take 4 classes over the course of 52 weeks. There are no breaks during the course of the school year, but if you stay on top of your assignments and the rest of the workload then it is easy to take a short break here and there as needed. You then have approximately a month off in between years as you await finals to be graded and your enrollment paperwork to be processed.

    • @MacyySuee
      @MacyySuee  Před 2 lety

      The casebooks are almost entirely cases with very little definitions/rules on anything. I like to describe the casebooks as working examples of the topics we learn in class. They’re more supplementive .

    Do we need to get the EXACT edition of the textbooks? Is one edition before good enough? Like if they ask for the 14th ed can we get the 13th one?

    • @MacyySuee
      @MacyySuee  Před rokem +1

      Usually within one edition is okay. Occasionally that may mean there is a case you have to brief that is not in there, but you can use lexis nexus to look up those ones!

    I have a few questions for the creator of this video. Have you ever used the Examples and Explanations series? If you have how does it compare to the Gilbert,s series you showed in this video? If you have used both of these series to study in law school do you believe they can be used effectively in combination?

    Hi Macy,
    Thanks for your video. I am in Florida. I have been looking at Northwestern ca.
    Your video was helpful in regards to the textbooks. I was considering getting a head start before my first year, to take some of the pressure off. I was considering purchasing the books and working through them on my own for 6 mos or a year and then enrolling, as if I were a law student. In other words, creating a situation were one year of study is stretched out over two unofficially. I am interested in getting ahold of some sort of law school syllabus or standard curriculum, to help guide the process. Many 1Y programs are structured similarly. Torts, Contracts…
    Do you have any knowledge of where I can find an outline like this?
    Also, where did you purchase your books? I spoke with a former Northwestern Grad this week, and he told me to start reading on Wikipedia. Wiki has a reputation in academic circles, but he swears by it, and I have learned quite a bit. One case leads to another, terms. Torts, contracts, and the like. Just thought some may be interested if they can afford tuition initially and want to jump in. What’s the worst that can happen? You figure out you Lloyd law or hate it before spending cash and you learn quite a bit in the process, for nothing else, perhaps for no other reason than for the sake of learning.
    Thanks again. Keep at it!

      Hi Todd! I purchased all of my books off of Amazon in 1L but for 2L I actually just rented them from Amazon. Unfortunately we are not allowed to share copies of the syllabi/course outlines as all NWCU material is strictly copyrighted, but I do not think it would be as helpful to complete these readings that far in advance due to needing to do it for the case briefs and also because one of the 1L classes, Introduction to law school, legal research & writing, gives you a lot of helpful information that will make it much easier to process what you are reading and need to be looking for. If anything I would suggest reviewing Quizlets for each class to familiarize yourself with key terms or to review landmark/current event cases.

    Hi Macy, I have 2 questions.
    1. Are courses graded on a curve? Seems like it would be difficult to do since people start at all different times.
    2. Does every student have the exact same required text books?
    Thanks!
