HA!! The first hammer you show, I bought this weekend at a flea market the "Acier Fondu MOB"' brand still exists, it's a French brand. A similar new hammer of that brand easily costs around 70$ at least. I paid it 2 euro :) OI will have to give it a new handle, though

blacksmiths use a variety of hammers and require different hammers for different tasks. You'd be surprised as to how many hammers one could have use for and we often have a hammer for specific tasks. Many smiths also collect hammers, but usually, it's just a love for the tools of the trade.
@@heptagrammar21 thankfully we live in a world where need and want are two entirely different things. If you really get down to the basics a blacksmith could probably get away with just a single hammer but that's just boring and I guarantee you quickly come to the point where you'll find you be wanting a different hammer. Also, remember as blacksmiths we are in the unique position to make our own hammers, which isn't that hard.

those little "tappy" hammers are generally used for "whitesmithing" (cold sheetmetal work) but they will have their uses in light blacksmithing.
