Bills have 11 picks in this draft. This was a necessity. All those players were over 30. The leadership hit is the worst part of it.
Okay, those are good points. good job, sir
10 picks actually and only 3 of them in the first 129 picks. They got to get really lucky to find help in this draft.
@@wpl8275 Good Intel. Thanks for the correction.
@@wpl8275 They got a 5th this week for Ryan Bates. So its 11 now. 1 pick in each of the first 4. 3 5ths. 3 6ths. 1 7th
@@wpl8275 All they really need is depth + a WR2, 1-Tech, and starting safety, so those picks will be fine
As a Chiefs fan I respect Rich point. Similar narrative was when Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill and what happened. Never lose your head before the match starts. Any given Sunday. Can't wait for new season to start.
The chiefs didn’t lose 7 players in one afternoon. They traded one guy and drafted 4 out of it. It’s not even remotely similar
What 7 players did the Bills loose? What are u talking about?
The there's only one O in Lose and one O in Buffalo lol.@@steveoshei1819
Other than Mitch Moorse, I think the team can live with who the got rid of, let's face it, old man Poyer didn't have a good season and Tre White has barely played any games for us over the last 3 years. The also got rid of Deonte Hardy, Siran Neal and Nyhiem Hines, they didn't exactly get rid of 7 pro bowlers. Those last 3 names didn't even play a ton of snaps. If you want to say a team is washed on March 7th I don't know what to say. Also I can't believe the Jets will be vastly improved, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets fire their coach before next season is over, but who knows, the Jets might win the division
The Chiefs had already won a ring when Tyreek left. The Bills have sputtered and failed so far and are already churning over a majority of the roster. Not the same circumstances
He tried to warn them to not take the cheese but they were already stuffing their faces with it lol
Rich sitting there saying, "Don't take the cheese," as my daughters are eating string cheese saying, "We took the cheese!"
TJ with the "ball so hard" was fantastic.
lol the bills hate in here is insane. They pushed the chiefs to the end with half these guys not playing. It’s a reload and they will be at least in the playoffs next year.
They have 11 draft picks to find younger long term replacements for Poyer, Hyde and Morse and load up on young cheap backups they can groom. If the Bills hit this draft, their window isn't closing, it's opening for the next 10 years
YES. @@JKSSubstandard
@@JKSSubstandard lmaooo 10 years? Do you not realize how quickly the NFL changes? I'd bet my left nutsack that Allen is near retirement in under 10 years. Nevermind that Beane has had how many years now? To draft some defensive studs, but instead they loaded up on a whole defense of 31+ year olds.
Yall swore if kc came to yall place yall would win 😂
Agreed Rich
Go Bills
As long as McDermott is the head coach….the Bills will be limited.
Rich is right. You can't judge what a team will be in the early days of the off season. A refresh because of injury and age/salary is due for the Bills. Whether or not they get better or worse remains to be seen. Window talk is premature, and usually just idle talk anyway.
Do you believe there are players in this draft that can produce at the level the veterans they just let go have? Thats actually the question as they are still above the cap and have to trim more..if not then the just got worse..
@@dond2377Watch the Bills get under the cap, of which they’re not that much over now, sign some cheap veterans, and draft well like they usually do. You guys are so desperate for them to fall off a cliff, until you get ridiculous
@@FlpDScrp Well, they have to get under the cap, so no question there. I just don't think the "cheap" free agents nor the potential draft are going to be as good as the players they just let go. I'm simply stating that if there's some who think this, what are the potential personnel? Specifically who? If anyone can't make direct upgrades then I'm suggesting that the team got worse especially at Safety and Center positions.
@@dond2377 Both of those safeties were over 30 as was their Center who has a history of concussions. As long as the Bills have their QB, just like the Bengals , Chiefs , and Ravens , their window will always be open . A lot of butthurt fans are the ones who are usually hollering the most about windows . I remember the same thing being hollered about the Chiefs with their cuts and cap casualties, and all the Chiefs did was do a youth movement…. Just like the Bills are right now , and kept winning…. Just like the Bills will. People are acting like the Bills lost a TON of key players. 😂
Yeah he’s the same guy who said kc wouldn’t be nothing without Hill
Don’t bet against the Bills! Right on Rich
The thing about windows, they can be open, they can be closed . . . and they can be broken.
I said this before and I'm going to say it again in my opinion whenever you have Josh Allen on the field you have a chance to win.
Unless they play the Chiefs in January
except when he faces burrow or mahomes lmao
they got so many trophies with him
Burrow needs to stay healthy and actually win a SB before Bengal fans chirp
And you think the 'winning chances' against the Chiefs in the PLAYOFFS has him in a good head space right now? I'll go ahead and answer for him. He is not in a good head space. He probably has the bubble guts whenever he sees red. Josh Allen is very good, but that team, under that coach can't beat this team under Andy Reid. Andy Reid is on another level.
Thanks Rich. Lol. About the window closing. Beane has a lot of magic to do.
Rich remembers that divisonial playoff game differently than I do.
Buffalo should’ve won and they were playing with a skeleton of a team lol
THEN YOURE REMEMBEING IT INCORRECTLY. THEY WERE LEADING IN THE 4TH QUARTER..AND COULD HAVE TIED IF KICKER DIDNT MISS FG...AND ALLEN DIDNT MISS SHAKIR BY 2 FEET. IF THATS NOT CLOSE TO YOU..THEN YOU NEED TO LOOK UP THE DEFINITINO
Guess you forgot bills played with 4 defensive players who were backups and practice squad players 😂😂😂
@@stephenrose9845 pat would’ve just ripped their hearts out in the last possession lol, and hardman is the only reason it wasn’t a two score game
Their window isnt closed, but it sure as hell is less open. They can’t possibly fill all those holes with better players in FA and the draft in one offseason. It almost feels like the Bills are taking a step back and doing a slight rebuild the way the Chiefs did the year they let Tyreek leave and added so many young players. Only difference is the Chiefs won the Superbowl that year and the Bills haven’t come close to it in 30 years.
They saw their teammate almost die
@jaybronjames9680 And failed him in January. If they were gonna win the Super Bowl that was the year to do it. They had the emotional drive and talent for it and didn't even come close. I knew then that iteration would be bridesmaids going forward.
Losing tre hurts but he played 10 games in 2 years. Poyer is 33. Hyde is about the same age. Mitch Morse was great and that one does hurt. Gabe Davis isn't great lol
And that has what to with the subject at hand?
Yup Bills still crying about 13 seconds when kc has won 2 sbs since then
For the record, Micah wasn't cut. He is considering retirement, but still on the team.
0:53 Thanks again Sean. We really appreciate you trading that 10th pick. Glad to see you have something to show for it. Oh wait.
Also, this all rings familiar. A lot of people said Buffalo wouldn't win the division last season. There were even those saying they wouldn't make the playoffs. They all got shut up when Buffalo took not only the AFC East, but the #2 seed.
Wide right.
Narrow left. Sorry, try to actually contribute something useful if you're gonna comment.
Sean McDermott get more passes than anyone I've seen at this point respectfully, yes he changed the culture and kudos to him for that but everytime the defense is supposed to stop patty and they'll win it never happens, if your coach isn't handling their side of the ball then what good are they for?? Same w nick sirianni he's a mouthpiece HC and Shane Steichen took the magic to Indy
I agree. The offense has been good enough to beat the chiefs a couple of times and the defense just collapse
As a Bills fan, you’re spot on. This defense is always high in DVOA during the regular season but gets bullied by Mahomes and Burrow in the playoffs. They’ve given up 33.5 points in the last 4 playoff losses. If they could hold Mahomes
@@kaza_family5950They are the cowboys of the AFC
WITH AN WAY BETTER QB(ALLEN)
@@chuomge6598
Yes, the injury depleted defense playing backups and practice squad members, including two more injuries the week before against Pittsburgh were supposed to stop Mahomes. Now, to be clear, not taking anything away from KC. They won the SB. They won in Buffalo and Baltimore. Just, saying that McDermott is a bad coach b/c he couldn't coach a collection of second-stringers and practice squad members into stopping a legend like Mahomes is a bit silly. That being said, I *do* actually have issues with McD. He trotted out a punter that was injured the week before. No reason that should have happened. Bad clock management almost cost them the regular season game against KC. He just doesn't make the best decisions in real-time.
Tre White cant stay on the field, Morse is way too expensive, & every team is cutting Safeties (Poyer)
The thing about “windows” … doesn’t apply to anything in the NFL… it’s a cliche buzzword that’s outdated…
Go Rich Go
The AFC is very competitive. KC, Baltimore and maybe Cincy at least to get past. Buffalo has to stay competitive with them and this cap issue is not going away. So they have to improve more than these other teams are improving while dealing with the cap issue and the loss of important pieces for them. It may not be closing but it sure is not looking great unless they can make huge strides in talent this offseason.
Let's look at this.
Assuming all these teams end up in the same cap at the start of this season, let's look going forward.
In 2025, the Bills are set to be 28 million under the cap. Their only notable FAs are LT Dion Dawkins, RT Spencer Brown, CB Taron Johnson and CB Rasul Douglas barring any 1 year deals this year. The Bills will also be out from under the Von Miller deal, a cut saves 10m additional toward the cap.
Baltimore will be 31m under the cap. They will have OBJ, Patrick Queen, Kevin Zeitler, Gus Edward's, JK Dobbins, and Clowney as FAs.
KC will have 95m to work with as of now. But have over this season and next, Chris Jones, MVS, mecole Hardman, Mike Edward's, Drue Tranquil, CEH, Willie Gay, Ljarius Sneed, Justin Reid, Omenihu, creed Humphrey and Nick Bolton deals to fit into that.
The Bengals have roughly 100m to spend. But again they have DJ Reader, Tyler Boyd, Awuzie, Jonah Williams, Tee Higgins, Trey Hendrickson, BJ Hill, Mike Hilton, Ted Karras, Joe Mixon, and Jamarr Chase deals to fit into that.
The Bills have 18 draft picks before comp picks, Baltimore has 15, KC has 12, and Cincy has 16.
So what is happening, is Buffalo just cleared their cap future by cutting some 30+ year old players, backups and an injured star while having the most draft picks to replace them. They are building with young talent. Baltimore will be in roughly the same cap and future fa position, with fewer draft picks. They will be maintaining and replacing parts as they leave And KC and Cincy, while having boatload of cap, will also have half or more of their starting rosters as free agents demanding star money. Their whole teams could be replaced in 2 years. And KC has a lack of draft capital to build from within. I'd expect these teams to maintain their rosters, but in doing so set themselves up for a bills like bloodbath in 5 years
Exactly...the least Rich could do is admit the window IS closing because they're weaker s at this point
GO BILLS
wide right
getting younger and cheaper. the cap was a serious issue and they are addressing it. just need to draft good.
@ajfatca they could potentially get younger at safety, there’s a lot of good ones in Free Agency, Adams, Diggs, Simmons, Byard, CJGJ, just to name some of them. They should go for a D-Hop for WR help, draft a replacement for Morse, and some more secondary help.. the good news is this draft is so QB and OT heavy that a lot of defensive players will be there end of the 1st round when any other year they’d be off the board well before they picked
Rich is right 💯
The only open window in the Josh Allen era is the window the Chiefs and Bengals keep throwing them out of.
😂😂😂
Here we go again. Rich, Bills Super Bowl window closed in 13 seconds.
That's faster than it takes AR to tear his Achilles 😅😂
Like literally
Bills will be in the hunt every year but I can't seem them getting to the big game because the team always feel incomplete in one way or another whether it be the offense, defense or the coaching decisions.
I think your right too.
Nobody can sugar coat quite like Rich
Cheerleads for all 32 teams 😂
Anyone who knows the team… wasn’t surprised by the players who were released… if think about they all make perfect sense… and are replaceable… PLEASE SLEEP on this team… please
Tre White has barely played the passed 2 years. Jordan Poyer has been declining. He is visibly much slower and has had constant minor injuries. Mitch Morse hurts but he's well into his 30's and was an obvious cut candidate. He was also a concussion away from retirement.
I mean, this is the first year Allen's cap hit has been higher than 10%. It was 8% last year and now it's 18%. The Bills haven't been able to get to the Superbowl when their star QB's cap hit was manageable. So, is the window closed? No, but if it's open it's just cracked open. Only one team has shown they're able to win a Superbowl then their QB is accounting for more than 13% of the cap and they just went back to back. If the Bills couldn't do it when cap hit was on their side what makes us think they're all of a sudden going to do it when it's not?
Pat is just on a different level man
Some of their most clutch players came through free agency and one year contracts last year. Brandon Beane will find talent . We have 11 draft picks- bound to hit on some of them- some of our best players were fifth round picks . Our players love to play for Buffalo, we’ve got Josh Allen. Saying the window is closed might make some feel better but it’s an overreaction.
Yes! GO BILLS!
This is the same thing we heard last offseason, “they will miss the playoffs in 2023” they ripped the division out of the dolphins hand, and went into the playoffs and was the 2 seed! They will be younger and faster this season there’s no way that roster from 2023 could’ve gone back out for another season, they had to shed some vets that have aged out ! Team was one of the oldest in the league last yr , this was long overdue
As a season ticket holder this has me more excited than I’ve been in years. Running it back year after year was killing us. Age was killing us. This hurts for maybe a year. But it gets us to a better place pretty quickly.
Brady now has a year to install a system for Allen-Kincaid-Cook-Shakir and yes still Diggs. The OLine is the same but for the loss of Morse at center. Add in a secondary back and two new stud receivers in a receiver heavy draft and you have a great offense. We’re close as hell on offense.
And on defense McDermott has proven (if anything) he can make a lot from average players. So a whole crop of NEW guys to bring up. If they hit… a few times on defense and just two good receivers come in this team is competitive and downright building into a juggernaut a year out. If… it’s on you Beane
Bills defense was 4th (?) in the league last year without Milano for most of the season, White played 10 games in last 2 years, Douglas missed 11 games, Jones was out for ...! Only released the center on the offense.
I think everyone underestimates how good Josh Allen is. He is the 2nd best Player in the NFL behind Mahomes and he can almost lead this Team alone in the Playoffs. And what we saw at the 2nd half of the season with Kincaid and Cook… if you can get Diggs involved in that and Davis/a new drafted WR- this has tremendous potential. And the Defence- they are going to figure that out. Look at who has been on the Field on the D against the Chiefs. Sentimentally the cuts hurt a lot, but in fact they have the chance to get even better than last season, when they get the leadership issue right.
Rich you gotta stop cheerleading for all 32 teams, you can say you think something is a bad move 😂😂
When you pay the QB, your window closes. That's just the way it goes in modern NFL.
You can still win playoff games with the Franchise QB, but the SB is over.
If Bass hadn’t missed that kick it would have been a tie game with the ball in Mahomes’ hand with about two minutes remaining.
I am sure the Bill's defense would have stop him.
"NFL quarterbacks in playoff situations where they led drives that ended in the final minute of the 4th quarter/overtime and their team was tied or trailed by 7 or fewer points, 2001-2024" Mahomes is 7-for-7 (100%) in those situations
😳 Then again may the wouldn't have stopped him.
That’s true. For the regular season. I’m sure ‘First Things First’ dropped the Bills a banner for their accomplishment.
Please make T-shirts that say DON’T TAKE THE CHEESE
Bills window slammed shut when Allen missed that WIDE OPEN touchdown in the 4th. Chris Jones barely pushed that dude into him and he missed by like 15yrds. Allen is NOT the guy.
This is correct. The Bills will be fine and also compete in the playoffs.
If by compete, you mean get bounced in the divisional round, then yeah you’re right
Rich is right
I agree with Rich. The Bills released old injured players with overpriced contracts. They didnt make a difference on the playoff run other than Mitch Morse.
Harty did have the punt return to sparky that win. I will give him that.
.. She'd be a bicycle 😂
This is just the start....We getting better
What's the statistics in QB's taking up majority of the cap? Isn't it like Eli, Stafford and Mahomes are the only 3 or something?
That’s a dumb stat because it’s only been over the last decade or so QB salaries have escalated so quickly
Bills defence has depth. Rapp is amazing. Bills will be OK. Only concern is Mitch Morse....he was a leader. Beane is an incredibly talented GM.
Bills window will continue to be there as long as Allen will be QB1.
That’s true but the fact they kept their HC does mean their Super Bowl chances are indeed over.
Amazing how Chris's personal bias will affect NFL analysis. Any semi-competent passive observer of the NFL understands if you have a top 5 QB in the league you're/or have serious upside to being a contender. Meaning in the conversation deep in December, as apparently that word is also difficult to comprehend!
Also, does not want to consider/recognize several other points Rich has made:
Milano coming back
WR deep draft
Freed Up Cap space
("Won't win a playoff game next year") Won 2 Playoff games last year and fell by just 3 to the would-be Champs
I mean, really, it's almost as if he's just not doing his job well
Hey Rich, if you ever want a more engaging guest host, might as well hit me up.
Steve
Jets LOL
I disagree. Though the Bills got younger overall they’ll struggle replacing the secondary in an afc that is so focused on throwing.
I'm as sad as any bills fan. First off if you have allen the window is open.
Secondly:
Mostly in tact oline
Cook
Diggs
Shakir
Kincade
Knox
Milano
Bernard
Douglas
Benford
Johnson
Russo
Oliver
Von?
Holes for sure but an incredibly solid base to build off of.
Draft a WR, DT, oline and saftey and get a few pieces in FA and this roster is rocking.
Mitch Morse was the only one healthy over the last 2 years.... they literally cut players that were non factors from a year ago. I mean hell, Stephen diggs was even a number 2 receiver at best 😆
We can the same thing about the 49ers window closing 😂
No you cannot. HC with rookie deal and offensive weapons allow for drafting defense and offensive line and a TE for kittle.. they are fine.. what you can’t say is the Bills are. 9ers made the Super Bowl and 1 seed. Bills barely make it and lost before the Super Bowl. It’s not the same thing.
"It's simple math, all these other teams underachieved because of injuries" can also apply to the Bills though. I know you said at QB but we were missing ALL PROS on our defense and still got to where we did. Guess what happens every year to every team at every position? Injuries. And if the Bills are on the lucky side of it next season and some of those other teams aren't, they are good enough to ALWAYS be in it with this front office, coaching staff and 17. That's the simple math.
Rich can’t give up his precious bills. Dude was gushing over them during the Jags-Bills game and you could tell he’s rly biased
The Patriots guy saying window is closed.. I would say the Patriots live in a basement with no windows.
SB window closing? No. These were beloved players who are at the end of their careers and the top of their pay. If anything, they were holding us back. Now we can put the money where we need it.
All the things Brockman is saying about the Bills, people were saying about the Chiefs when they traded Cheetah. You have to wait and see. All those teams that are supposed to be better next year, might not be. If you have the QB, he can cover up a LOT of holes on a roster. Assuming Josh Allen is the guy, they still absolutely have a chance.
Rich is right, the Bills are getting rid of big names. Beloved players in Buffalo but players that are nearing the end of their careers. There is a very good chance they will be better this year.
Agree with Brockman on this one. It looks like the Bills are not getting better while other teams are. Winning the division doesn't make you a superbowl contender. They are not gonna solve all their problems in one offseason.
The patriot guy sounds like nick wright
Idc who we sign or draft nothing changes till McDermott is gone which is 2-3 more seasons at minimum…sadly
Hey Rich...right now, if you had to bet, Us (Kingdom) vs the Bills, in the playoffs...who you taking? Chris Jones included. Because he will be back. So will Trent McDuffie. Nick Bolton. Dru Tranquil. Please! Mike Pennel! Etc. I havent even started on the offensive side of the ball yet.
They’re still over the cap even after these moves btw. Who says the window was ever open lol
I respectfully disagree, Rich. Bad drafts and old players.
Should’ve kept Morse especially after getting rid of his back up, other than that it’s all good.
as long as 17 is on the field the window is open. plain and simple.
Von Miller is washed up. End of story.
No one is talking about Miami
Tua and waddle still on rookie deals that will change
Pats and jets dumpster fire
Lmao Phins can't beat elite teams
Can't be the "end of their run" because they haven't started a run yet lol
If they weren't winning any super bowls with all those players I don't see them winning any without them.
Buffalo is going to be better then last season because of all the injured players they're getting back. Their defense was a skeleton of backups, practice squad members and duck tape against KC. Tre is gone, yes, but he's been gone since Week 4, IIRC. So, his departure will not worsen the team we saw in the playoffs one bit. Brady now has a full offseason to implement his own offense. Don't forget, last season he had to run the one inherited from Dorsey. Get Allen a speed receiver that can stretch the field and pair it with the sudden awaking of Cook and Kincaid, and that's a lot of field for opposing teams to cover. Buffalo will be getting younger, which will hopefully contribute to the Bills' not getting decimated by injuries like they have the last two seasons.
saying that their window is closed and then saying they still can't beat the Chiefs is redundant. if they couldn't beat the Chiefs before they still won't be able to be the Chiefs now and their window is the same height
Ya durrr
Allen is still the best QB by a mile in the AFC East. They’re making the playoffs
If Mahomes and Burrow get injured the Bills can compete for an AFC Championship.
These people pray on our downfalls soooooo bad everything they said in this segment they said last year
Rich sorry to bust your bubble….yes the window is closed completely shut. The bills were defensive leadership team. Poyer and hyde gonna be huge. They were the vocal leaders and tone setter. I don’t think Josh is that. Josh had three years after the extension to prove that he is a leader and he had fail miserably. Also the bills were more opportunistic with turnovers on defense. And their defense were based around poyer and Hyde. So the defense gonna look completely different.
Josh Allen needs to give a discount considering all those INTs he throws.
A discount on all those tds too huh?
Puff Puff Pass...come on Rich...this is what the beginning of the end looks like...
Don’t ride the roller coaster Beane will have it all figured out by September
The bills are in a division with the patriots and the jets, they’re not missing the playoffs for the next 10 years minimum
Their Window is still open they just missed it wide right
The season hasn’t started yet. The cards haven’t been laid and JA17 is my QB.
The idea that the Bills ever had a superbowl window is hilarious
Rich eisen forgets joe burrow has Josh Allen’s numbers just as much as mahomes dose
The Bills window is open but it's facing a wall cause Allen is starting to look like AFC Dak
The Bills, 49ers and Ravens all had some of their best overall teams this season. And all of them still lost to the Chiefs. All 3 of them! I see people using what the Chiefs did with Tyreek to justify the Bills can still win a SB. But y’all leaving out a huge point of what the Chiefs did. None of these other teams especially the Bills don’t have Mahomes, Reid, Veach and Spags on their team! And all 4 of them are very important when it comes to making what happened in KC!
Remind us, Rich, what window are you talking about? The peephole that was open for 13 seconds in Jan 2022, or the bay window Bills have been missing for 8 seasons?
Yea, sorry Rich. It's not looking good for the Bills. Same problem as their 90s window. Other teams were better at the same time they were good. Looks like the same thing this time around. Not to say they can't make some hay in the playoffs...but the odds are against them going all the way.
Well, on the bright side, we cleared 38 million for next season. 😂😂😂
They fucked up when they signed von Miller!!!!
I want my spouse to love me like Rich Loves the Bills.
Yes it does.
