That’s a serious bar.
What is ?
@@Sineadmcdlololol did you even listen to it? If you're a player on a great team, it's better than being the star player on a losing team
@@JohnSmithThe666ththat, or what Tom said about making roles great
@@Pablo-ls6fh Cruise’s line was a much better’bar’
@@Willie_McBride I agree
Hangman was basically the Iceman role. I’d take that any day of the week.
He is one of the most memorable characters. I never heard of the guy before Top Gun but he made that role great.
Literally........he was great in this film
No Hangman was literally Maverick... Nothing by the book, amazing raw talent, arrogance... 😅
Hangman was the Maverick role, Mavericks respect for Iceman and growth as a person showed him why choosing Rooster, the safer, more Iceman like pilot was better
Agree with comments below. He's actually "Maverick". He doesn't stay with his wingman and is full of himself.
"I choose great movies and make the roles great" is such a powerful statement. Changes your perspective about how to do any job.
Dude... The Mummy remake? He doesn't always choose good movies.
He killed in that role and look at him now - literally everywhere!
I really do think this is the role that blew him up!
He's also in 'Hidden Figures'. A great movie, but his small role was great.
@@phillhunter3664facts
Yea I just seen his movie hit man on Netflix it’s good he’s everywhere now 🎉
As soon as he enters the bar in the movie you know you are looking at Iceman 2.0. In my book he nailed it. Like the guy!
He's not Iceman 2.0. He's Maverick 2.0. Think about it.
@@KS-xk2so I agree about the character side H_ngm_n is a nod to Maverick going solo against Viper leaving Ice without support.
On the narrative and characters dynamic side he is Rooster's Iceman.
@@fredericlepeltier3435 Even narratively he's Maverick. He's the cocky loud mouth who does things differently and is focused only on himself. He even DOESN'T get picked for the mission, but flies in at the end to save the day, again Maverick.
Rooster is actually Iceman. Flies by the book. Team player. The only thing Hangman and Iceman have in common is that they are the main character's antagonist really.... and they're blonde I guess lol
@@KS-xk2so On second though you are right!🤣
He was my favorite part of the movie
Heard it since I was a kid, "There are no small parts, only small actors."
Tell that to an extra who barely plays some seconds, in a scene.
@@vardellsfolly5200I’d tell them but they are way too insignificant for my time.
But look at like Philip Seymour Hoffman. Even in movies where he wasn't the start you remember him.
@@AftermathSpectre all his serious roles, and then fucking Along Came Polly....... Ben Stiller is a genius!! "RAINMAN!!!!!!!" LMAO
@@AftermathSpectrethat proves the saying true
I’m glad Glen listened to Tom because it’s 💯 true. His performance in Maverick earned my attention to his career and now I’m a fan.
Me too. I had literally never seen him before and now I enjoy every movie he makes.
He did a great job in a great movie. I think the moment that won over the audience was when Maverick clocked 2:15 on the run. The look on his face made him likeable no matter how cocky he was before or after. That "Damn" made him.
"no I choose great movies and I make the roles great"
Great advice and I want more Hangman in TopGun 3
Humble, classy, well-spoken guy.
Hangman was a pretty big part in Maverick. No it wasn't the main role but still. Played a great Iceman 2.0 like character. I noticed he has been doing romantic comedies and he is pretty good in them. Anyone but you and Hitman are solid movies.
He wasn’t iceman. He was maverick. Rooster was more iceman - talented but cautious. Maverick was the cocky cowboy who pushed everything to the limit - that’s who Hangman was.
@@albyluchko6030exactly
I just watched Glen’s new film Hit Man on Netflix. It showed what a truly versatile actor he is. I highly recommend this film.
Same. It was a pleasant surprise.
The movie was horrible lol
Yeah! That movie was showing off some of his underrated skills. Loved the movie. Crazy to think it was based on a true story.
@@am3rikan84 it was a bit all over the place but it's not awful
@@am3rikan84agreed
“I choose great movies and *I make* the roles great”.
Take that with you everywhere in life and youll succeed. Find a stage that sets the bar high, clear that bar with grace. That’s how you make a great career.
He was truly excellent in the role… I hope him success in his career…
He was smart to take the role. Being able to listen to that sound advice is why he’s a star now.
i was upset that my son wanted to change teams after he had earned a starting role. His response "I would rather be on the bench of a winning team than start on a losing team." He wanted to have room to grow. I learn so much from my children.
Glen absolutely nailed the role of Hangman and made him a very significant character. Good advice from Tom.
Tom in Jerry's is crazy. This subtitle be killing me bro 😂😂😂😂😂
Think of this, the Iron Man character was a no one in the comics, but Jon Favreau chose RDJ for that role and RDJ made not only that character more memorable than the Iron Man character was being before that, but his role birthed a a decade-long franchise that birthed acting stardom for other actors as well.
Both Hangman and Phoenix stood out a lot more than Rooster.
Well... Miles Teller had already established himself as a leading man type of movie star. Glen was kinda more of an up and coming actor who had done a ton of supporting roles and such
The actress who played Phoenix, and just the character overall was wonderful. My dad was in the Air Force for 20+ years and he LOVES the birdstrike scene because of how accurate and true-to-life she portrayed it.
Tom might be freaking crazy but he's on top for a reason
Dude ended up saving the day
Humbling! This guy gets it!
Watched that movie for the second time about a week ago, after seeing it in the theater originally. It is literally a perfect movie. The whole thing with Iceman near the end made it great too. All the actors were great, including Glenn!
The flying scenes make the original look like a backyard home movie - one of the few cases where the reboot sequel is better than the original!
And he saves the day right at the end. Was a good move and good acting.
I agree with Tom Cruise and you did an excellent job on the movie before that row I did not know who you were and you really stood out in this movie I considered you the new Iceman
Happy 4th Of July America 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎁
Hes right. He grabbed my attention from the minute he entered the story line. He was my favorite in the team. Have been a huge fan ever since. So crazy good looking too!
I’m actually hoping they continue the Top Gun movies with Hangman in the lead role. Glen P. killed it in his role!
I think of Viola Davis in Doubt. She has one scene, only one. It’s THE scene of the movie and earned her a nomination for an Academy.
Absolutely killed the Hangman role too. Great for him.
It was a great role! Probably the best outside of Maverick.
Anyone catch the subtitles? “I sat down with Tom in Jerry’s office”😂😂😂 I don’t know why that’s so funny to me
Hangman saving the day at the end of the movie is iconic. Saw the movie twice in theaters and the audience cheered each time 😅
Huge part of Top Gun.
If he was born 20nor 30 years earlier, he would have gotten WAY more prominent roles and would have been a household name.
FACTS. there are a lot of actors like that. Henry Cavill is another one
He's the best character in the movie
Loved him in “everybody wants some!!”
Hangman was a perfect casting for this guy he even looks kind of like val kilmer. A good new gen iceman.
Small player on a great team is better than a great player on a small team.
Facts
You made that role an EPIC role. Right along with IceMan.
Hangman got to save the day in the end, so good call! 😎
Tom was right and good thing Glen listened
And actually it did changed his life forever!!!! Now he’s in route to be a movie star!!!
ROSTER! You are the MAN! Love you in that role man!
excited to watch his new movie twister
Good flying Hangman, keep killin it man.
Wow, is this guy livin' his best life right now, or what? He's fire.
His role as Hangman rocked!
Tom’s quote hit like a hammer
And he nailed that role. The movie was top tier and just as good as the first one
And he did a great job on the roll he got/had good start
I’m excited to see him in twister
SAME I LOVED that movie growing up
@@Storm411z same!! I remember it terrifying me as a child but I loved it and would watch it over and over lolll
Tom Cruise with some awesome advice!
He was wearing a tank top guys… he’s a hero!
This guy was not only necessary to Top Gin Maverick - he was great in it!
I feel bad for the dude since he has an "80s Bad Guy" face. Kinda puts him in a weird casting position. Lol
Underrated comment.
He played the role of John Glenn well in Hidden Figures. I guess it depends on the role.
He was good in “ Everybody wants some “
I noticed he has been doing like romantic comedy movies and he definitely has the look for that. Did one with Sydney Sweeney that was pretty solid and another one on Netflix called Hitman. Different genre but not bad movies.
I remember Bradley Cooper played a baddie in a movie and transitioned. He can do the same easy
I watched him in Devotion before I watched Top Gun and just knew he was going to blow up
His role in Tropic Thunder is total proof of that theory.
I still call him Hangman, bros my favorite actor rn.
Really sound advice! Very interesting way of looking at acting.
He did great as hangman and ended up saving the day at the end.
Always do your best. It's a numbers game and eventually your star rises.
Tom Cruise worked in Tropic Thunder for a 10 min role...and that role is one of the most iconic things ever. So if Tom Cruise says something...you do it without a blink.
Can we talk about the fact that the captions said I talked to Tom in Jerry's office. I see what you did there captions🤣🤣🤣
He killed that role! Hangman was perfect
Best advice ever!!! 🍻☮️
You can criticize Cruise for many things, but no one can argue that he has the golden ticket when it comes to making roles legendary.👍
Dude was the iceman of the movie. Perfect role.
So precious ❤️
Chad Radwell, still one of my favorite characters ever.
Loving the longer length hair on Powell! Looks good.
Anyone But You is very funny and I'm really looking forward to Twisters!
Perspective; it’s a game changer.
The captions: so i sat down with tom in jerry's office 🤣😭💀
He was awesome !!!
Absolutely Positively!!!
I choose great movies and make the role great!
He did make that roll great ngl
Awesome movie
Was a briliiant role...Iceman part 2 🙌
A great world view on at least the approach to work, if not life
He nailed the Hangman part
Love how they met in jerrys office 😂
Great line, what a perspective shift
Awesome perspective
The subtitle :-
Sitting with tom in Jerry's office . 😂
And that’s why Tom still makes movies people actually want to see
that was actually solid advice
Loved him in Hidden Figures!
Glen is just awesome.
Team work makes the dream work
He was memorable !
He was such a great Hangman
Good advice be important on what ever team you're on
Glen Powell did NOT have a small role in TG:M. He made the perfect foil for Rooster AND had the character redemption role AND the hero who swoops in and helps Luke blow up the Death Star.
Tom in Jerry's office 😂
This guy is awesome
There were 3 actors in that movie. Tom cruise, Miles Teller, and Glenn Powell. Tom cruise changed his life. Twice.
"I auditioned for Rooster. Felt great about it." Someone said he looked good. He replied, "I am good." If Glen really wanted to impress, he would have taken the role of Bob.
his laugh after saying "i'm trying to be you" is very Tom Cruise
