Interesting fact: the ability to have mobs drive trains with the schedule is actually based in reality. In the 1800s a man working in a train station lost his legs in an accident. He remained on the job (unemployment benefits didn’t really exist back then), but found that he couldn’t do it as well. He bought a monkey from a man that said it could do tricks, and after a while the railroad worker found that the monkey had learned the various actions that the switches in the station did and when they were scheduled. The worker’s bosses came over after finding out; after proving to them that the monkey was fully capable of doing the job, it was officially hired by the railroad to the point of receiving a salary.

I had always dreamed about having trains connecting two of my closest villages. I was sad because I thought that I had to go to earlier versions of Minecraft to use the old train mods. But thanks to Create, now my dreams are reachable once again.

@@bubblecoin3230 There actually is an addon to create people are making that adds a whole physics engine, and plenty of new blocks. allowing you to make planes, blimps etc, even boats and cars!

Other big changes:
• Super glue now uses areas instead of individual connections
• Redstone link range was changed to 256
• Engineer's goggles can be used in Curios slot
• Encased fans no longer provide SU (edit: This means that they no longer work as rotational power generators)
• Pulleys can now be monitored with a Stockpile Switch
• Display links can output information also to lecterns and nixie tubes (in addition to display boards and signs mentioned in the video)
• Display links can measure data from train stations, clocks, nixie tubes, content observers, stockpile switches, respawn anchors, depots, belts, belt tunnels, command blocks, target blocks, train observers, boilers, seats, speedometers and stressometers.
• Changed a lot of recipes, advancement tree, item sprites, minor game mechanics, etc.

They sold at least made so currently placed blocks still work, this will now brake a lot of existing worlds
You can manually make casings by clicking the metal ingot onto a stripped block inworld
That means its a bit cheaper to make casings now?
@@HybridHenderson No, they are more expensive, original craft was 2:4 ratio of metal and resulted casings. Now it's 1:1, but uses less wood
@@qinomed7532 it uses more wood though, before it was 6 planks and one log, or basically 2.5 logs for 4 casings, or 5:8, now it's 1:1

Also I saw u mentioned they removed furnace engines, it might be because of the infinite furnace fuel bug that came with it
I absolutely love what came with Create .5 today, but I kind of wish it could be backported back to 1.16.5, although I doubt it. Still, it looks like I'll be spending more time in 1.18.2 from the looks of it since train transport looks so much more polished now, that, and endgame generators seem a lot more open-ended.

The trains mechanics, especially placing rails and schedules, look very similar to those in Factorio

Ooooooh I’m so dang excited to play with this. I support the new casing recipes so much, i love seeing more use for deployers in crafting!
That those redstone features for rose quartz lamps are actually great! That kind of RS nor selector circuit you get by chaining multiple lamps would be great for something like picking destinations for your train or like a potion vending machine where you can select the specific configuration you want just by pressing a specific button.
What an absolutely crazy update, really looking forward to the train video!

They needed to do that when I just started a new survival world in 1.16.5 and wanted to make a train as a big project x)
That rose quartz lamp is a multi-state latch. VERY USEFUL

Create brought Factorio to minecraft. The factory must grow. Also they're just casually revolutionizing the game every few updates or so.
Due to the encased fans not working as generators anymore can you give us an updated version or replacement so that machines and tutorials you've done in the past (ie the auto farm spinny thing) are not obsolete?

This mod has basically turned minecraft into factorio, especially with the train system
I'm having a problem: once the train is assembled, I cannot access chests or barrels. Is there any way for manual inventory access without having to disassemble?
I'm so glad we have proper steam engines now, I never liked how inexpensive and tiny furnace engines were, all we need now is an actual need to build smoke funnels for our steam based contraptions, that'd be great
I'm so excited for this addition, I didn't expect it at all
I too disliked the furnace engine, but for different reasons - it required 2 different types of fuel, and you also had to deal with the byproducts somehow.
And yes, I would very much appreciate if the steam engine actually produced smoke.

Kinda sad about the removal of furnace engines though, I had just learned they were fantastic for building purposes.
the flywheel still exists as a decorative block and now spins with rotational force applied

I wish there wasn't a block limit on trains. I just built a huge landship with 381mm guns and I can't even drive it!

ummmm, the removal of furnace engines is pretty world breaking- kinda a major thing. Need to know if they removed the item via id or just disabled creation of it.
its gone, i opened up my survival world and its gone, the flywheel has no use besides decor
Question: I've been playing with Create 0.5 in survival and am trying to build a steam engine to power my manufacturing machines, but despite having a 2x2 water tank with four campfires underneath, the engine doesn't seem to be generating rotational power. I have two mechanical pumps feeding a second "holding" tank which feeds into the "steam" tank via a third mechanical pump, all powered by a pair of water wheels. Do I need to give it time to build up steam within the 'engine' tank before the engine itself will produce rotational power, or am experiencing some kind of bug?

@@depz4495 No, it wasn't a bug, I just wasn't getting enough water into the steam engine to make it useful. It takes a heck of a lot of water (and fluid pumps) to run one of those things.

If I right-click on the animal with the train schedule, it just brings up it's config menu. Am I missing something or is there a fix? thanks

you need 4 tank per engine with a usefull max 18 engine
My biggest questions from this update is suspended Monorails still viable and work properly.
I haven't played the update yet but I'd imagine that you can just build the rails in the air and place blocks underneath the rails as long as they are connected to the bogey
I just tried and you absolutely can build monorails

I never liked the furnace engines, I always hoped they'd one day be replaced by the actual steam engine they supposedly represented.

Tried assembling a train. Pressed assemble button and had no errors, but when I turn to look at my train, it’s gone. The only thing that remains is the bogeys, which are facing sideways.
Update: I found out that the hit box of the train is still there. I got on and tried using the controls, but it almost instantly kicks me off the train when I try.

for me it says "At least one forward facing control block needs to be mounted on the train", but i have train controls on it
did you use super glue? and weirdly I got that issue too but I added another train controls

Hey Maria - I will do my best to help you :)
So this is actually a mod which changes the way minecraft plays. In other words, you will need to download something called the CurseForge launcher which will allow you to modify "mod" your minecraft.
Your best bet is to look on youtube for how to install curseforge for minecraft and once that is installed install the mod "Create Mod"
After that, simply press the start button!
