A lovely little '68 1200A. These were a bit mad with features like the dip switch on the bulkhead and it looks like a reserve tap down there too! Features that were long gone on the higher spec models. I had a 67 1200A like that

This bug is begging to be saved, the brakes wasn't seized, didn't take much to start really and the engine sounds sweet, not bad for being stood for 30 years.

Definitely one to be put back on the road with not too much work.

Yes it definitely will be saved rather by us or we will sell it on to someone that will restore it.

@VWFarm I wish I had the facility to do it! Good news, anyway!

Looks like it was rear-ended at some point judging by the green/red deck lid and what seems to be some Bondo on the valance. But not bad over all. Except the pink. At least it would be easy to spot in the car park!

So impressed with your knowledge at such a young age, does your school offer exams in Beetle Maintenance?? You'd get an A

Amazing how rust free that car is, considering its age. In certain parts of the USA the body would have rotted off in the first 10 years, never mind 65 years later. Also, interesting that this car had a petrol reserve valve in that era. On a US car, I believe they did away with that circa 1960, in favor of a dash mounted gage.

You don't renovate the Beetles you rescue 😐

We do it just takes much longer to fully restore one lol. If we don’t restore it we normally sell to be fixed up. We are restoring 3 beetles at the moment 1972 baja off road style bug, 1956 Oval and a 1965 Herbie replica😀 Should we do more videos of the restorations?
