I have a 1964 half dollar that my father had in a special case. He used to work in a government job back in the day. So far, everything you are saying in this video is matching up. I am thinking I'll have to take this somewhere to get looked at.

Wow, how timely - on Friday I saw a 64 set on ebay that had a suspicious looking quarter. I had to get it just to see. If I hit the 1-in-a-million jackpot I'll definitely let everyone know! if not, I still got a nice 64 set in a cool holder.

Seems individual coins are just a waste of capitol.cant see someone saying "picked a key date 2015d jefferson" in the same manner as "picked me a 16 merc" or "22 no date lincoln".strange but intriguing times ahead !anyway great vid, keep em rolling, your info level has caught the attention of "the tube" and good times are coming your way.peace!!!

    (The 1964-SMS-101)
witch was very well putrid by the way) i can honestly say because
"with the imfo you gave, and with my 1964/ Nickel in hand, that (i found in the wild) it is in fact-a 1964-SMS Coin. I was fairly certain that it was the frist moment i layed eye's on it, because it doesn't look like any other 1964 nickels that I've ever seen, and brother I've looked at millions. I see why the SMS-64's are so sout after, they are "absolutely beautiful" with a half Gold, half Silver look that stands out inside a high rem, they have no ment mark, a Satt Finish, pinkish trailing in all letters/words, also but underneath front and back in all words date included, there's blackish/brown righting/numbers ? But it doesn't take away from the true beauty in anyway.
I'm very fortunate to have found this Coin and i no that. I don't take Coin Collecting for Granted (Never Have/Never Will)

I have watched dozens of videos and read all the internet articles I could find about the the sms 64s vs the business strikes or the special strikes and I haven't found anything that talked about reflectivity. Also are there any special strike 64s known to have originated in the Denver mint? All the research I've done says that special strikes have no mint mark but like I said this coin I have is a real doozy to pin down because nobody talks about reflectivity in any of the articles or videos. Hey CoinHELPu...if Iheard you correctly, you said that the 1964 sms came more than likely in a hard plastic holder?
Well just so happens that I just went to an Estate Sale, where I bid on a small box of coins and got them, well in this box of coins I found some walkers,Benji's,and Kennedy coins as well
at the bottom of the box under some paper like miterial, there was a hard plastic case with a 64 half, quater, dime, nickel, and penny.I have been studing coins for some time now,and I do belive I have one of the orginal 64 sms. It's not in a case like the 65,66,67 sms this one is in the same type of hard case, but the only thing the case say's on it is "WHITMAN" at the bottom and they are business struck coins, not the shinny proof type but a satian type finish.Could I possibily have a orginal 64 sms?
It has all of the features that you had mentioned.Would love to hear your feed back.

You're not going to find one like this, sorry. I am not the person to contact, an expert needs to see it in person. Only way you could have one is if you had personal ties with a former mint director Eva Adams. These where not released to the public.

Great info, finally someone did a video on this. I bought 3 unopened boxes of the 65,66,67 SMS sets. But they all look like they have the SMS strike not the business strike. This video is going to be very helpful. So the business strikes come in the SMS sets as well? Or just put in circulation?

I finally found the 1964 sms set a month ago. After watching this video it took me only one week to find it . It just got delivered and now I wanna have them graded. now I’m confused how am I supposed to tell them how much they are worth and have to pay more on insurance and variety. Is sms considered a variety and why are those fees there aren’t they supposed to tell me what the coins are isn’t that the main reason for them to tell me everything about the coin

    • @CoinHELPu

You didn't get an SMS set, you can't buy them nor find them, they don't exist outside of collections of people who bought them at auction.

@@CoinHELPu it was an Estate auction I have compared to other sms I came to conclusion why people couldn’t noticed them. In white lights they have a mirror finish to them the Kennedy would look nickel plated when you take a picture of it. The cent would look orange the quarter and dime bluish tint. But on normal natural light quarter nickel and dime will look smoke frost and the Kennedy would look Matte. I used a magnifying app with different filters to make sure the coin was ms70 state. I’m just not sure if the strikes is all there. Pictures I took with a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Makes the coin extremely life like so to the point the Lincoln looks like a fake rendition being too clean.

How is it known that these coins didnt come in mint sets??!!! These were minted in the 60s and didnt pop up until the 90s. It is not speculation it is math. 1991 was over 30 years ago and no one has found anymore 1964 SMS, and it was almost 30 years since they were minted in 64’ and no one found any until 1991. People thinking they have one have been disappointed every time.
