I have a 2000. Best car I ever owned. Thanks for your videos.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I've only replaced starters on old chevys. Now to face the heat and get it done!
Excellent job 👍 thank you. I'll replace my starter tomorrow

Thank you so much!! Replaced this morning :)
Appreciate the help man
So... did you clarify what tools you needed?
What did it do when you turned the ignition key nothing at all.? My moms does nothing.
Thanks good video😊
Does the vent hose plug into anything or it just sits there
Good job man
Excellent video
You need better lighting sources. Good video, thank you.
This has nothing to do with a Nissan Pathfinder.
no the pathfinder is much worst to change out... big ol plat on the right side of it. cant hardly get to it...
Nope, not a damn thing.
That hose that curves like a U that your hand was scraping @ 9:13 where does it go or attach to im having a hard time finding where it belongs
This is a freewheeling engine design- meaning that if the timing belt slips, it cannot cause engine damage. :-)
freewheeling???????? Term for this is NON INTERFERENCE
My 2001 nissan quest has weird plug in connectors to the positive post on the battery and from this video it look like yours might be the same way. Do you have any idea what it is called? I've looked up fusible links but cannot find ANYTHING that looks like mine. Each cable for the +battery post has a plastic clip plug in and then it's bolted on the connector that goes around the + batter post. Any ideas??
Tank you it helps tanks
Good video but on a 06 Quest you have 3 water hoses running over top the starter. I cut one to get it off.Afterward looking at it .if you loosen both starter bolts those water hoses will swing out of your way, better than it was anyway
1999 Villager: It didn't want to start this morning. At first, it clicked and I thought the battery was low, I turned the key again and it turned over slowly but didn't start. Next try I held the key on and it eventually started. The next few times after making short trips it started fine, then it did it again so I held the key on and it slowly started. For the rest of the day I started and stopped and it started every time. I'm reluctant to let my wife drive it to work for fear that it won't start for her.
I had the battery checked and it's strong.
Do you have any ideas?
Bryan
Bryan Cox yeaaa its ur starter dude lol if your lucky you still have the lifetime warranty on it and can get the piece free just do the work yourself
Yes. There's a guy who shows how to start (to test) your Villager (or Quest) with the relay removed. BUT if you touch the wrong pin receptacles you can fry your electronics- and run over your foot bcuz you bypass all the safeties in the circuit. On your start inhibit relay you want to find pins 30 and 87. No others.
Best to go find Ratchets and Wrenches for how to do it.
what year is this one on the video?
What are the socket sizes I need for the bolts? Also if there are other tools I may need for this.
Same issue man. Dude didnt clarify shit
9/16 for retaining bolts
This is easy compared to a pathfinder, it’s on top.
speedlimit6869 that's why I came here to. Nothing to do with my 05 Nissan Pathfinder...
thank
You wasn't sitting there when you were taken off the battery cable you were standing there lol
It may seem like a miniscule detail but when you call a bolt a screw, I don't think you know what you're doing.
why did you list pathfinder there is nothing on here for a pathfinder ... boooo thumbs down.
its a nissan. the starter looks the same. if you can find it you just remove the mount screws and the ground and pull it out
Dude this is a video to give information. Nobody wants to listen or watch you vacuum that engine. Get a clue.
Dude be grateful. Just ffwd video
