One of the most beautiful pieces of music written EVER! But when played on flute with the drums that once beat by our native American brothers, its more than music, its magical. So sad their land is no longer their own

This is a wonderful tune called "The Gail" and its about a man from the Highlands of Scotland. Not so much Mohicans, but it works. I play it on the bagpipes.
The fast part is "The Gael", the slow part is the main theme.
As Johnny Carson would've said, "You are correct, sir." The song was originally written by Dougie MacLean: singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Later "The Gael" was later adapted by Trevor Jones as the Main Theme for the 1992 movie "The Last of the Mohicans." Happy fluting! 😊 ♫

Yes, that's right the original is a Scottish piece. That is why they included it in the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. Colonel Monroe and his daughters were of Scottish descent, it was a subtle ode to their heritage. Also, an absolutely gorgeous piece!
The music is so deep, it can take u to the place where u can find nothing but peace, a different kind of a pain inside it❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've seen a lot of Native American flute covers of this theme on CZcams, but this rendition would have to be my personal favourite.
Beautifully done. I first heard this style from a Cherokee flute player. When he played, you could close your eyes and envision trees, streams, and the beauty of Creation. It reminded me of how Tolkien described the music of the Elves.
The Gael reaches right down inside me in almost every format I've heard but this, with the love flute has gotten me the hardest. It is the perfect mix of my heritages, Irish and Native American.
Native American Flute is a beautiful sound, it is what brought me to wanting to learn too play.
So as a newcomer to the Native American Flute I have to say that after watching this performance, this is exactly the reason why I was drawn to this instrument in the first place. I love the NAF as it speaks to me in a way that no other instrument has or can. I must have watched this video a few dozen times already and need to watch it daily. I am thankful to Ciao_NAF for having this wonderful channel for me to be able watch them play many of my favorite songs so masterfully. You give me a high level to strive for even if I am presently a total beginner. This is by far my favorite arrangement and version of this hauntingly beautiful song.
You spoke my mind entirely. I have been a musician for over 13 years with piano, I started dabbling in guitar and flutes too. This instrument spoke to me in ways I didn't know possible. I want to hold a flute like this and my mahogany guitar, sit on the porch of a nice log cabin in the Appalachians, and play with nobody to please but myself, and nothing to care about but the sights and sounds around me.

Love this arrangement. I did an arrangement of Mohicans for a Scottish bagpipe band some years ago. I was looking for a flute to play an introduction prior to the bagpipe band starting. i tried many different types of flutes etc. but none filled the bill. I found your music a couple of months ago and it is perfect with the (High Spirits Flutes, key A). Because of that I now play two N.A.F flutes in "A" and "F" due to your inspiration. Thank you so much .Keep up the good work. Love your music

The appalachian mountains rock formation is the same as the british isles, caledonian moutains and atlantic part of Africa, from back when we where one continent: Pangea 🙏
