Šípověnka šťovíková - The knot grass moth (Acronicta rumicis)
Acronicta rumicis je druh je druh můry z rodu Acronicta a čeledi Noctuidae.
Popis
Dospělec
- rozpětí křídel: 34-44 mm
Přední křídla jsou pokrytá směsí tmavých a světle šedých odstínů.
Uprostřed vnitřní hrany předního křídla je vidět bílá skvrna.
Zadní křídla jsou tmavě hnědá.
Asijské můry bývají větší než jejich evropské protějšky a mají nižší přední křídla s tmavšími odstíny šedé.
Housenka:
- délka: cca 40 mm
Tmavě hnědé tělo s bílými skvrnami po obou stranách těla a červenými skvrnami podél středu hřbetu.
Chloupky na těle rostou v chomáčích, uspořádaných v řadách.
Výskyt
Palearktická oblast
Severozápadní Čína, Korejský poloostrov, Japonsko, Rusko a téměř všechny části Evropy.
V některých oblastech severozápadní Skandinávie chybí.
V otevřených oblastech, jako jsou louky, lesní mýtiny, zahrady a živé ploty, obecně v oblastech bez vlhkosti.
Kuklí se v pevném zámotku ve stočených, suchých nebo živých listech.
Dospělce často nalézáme na zdech, plotech apod.
Život
Samičky mají tendenci klást vajíčka na listy hostitelských rostlin ve velkých shlucích, v téměř pravidelných, překrývajících se řadách.
Fáze vajíčka trvá asi 5 až 10 dní. Vejce mají kulatý zploštělý tvar a mají mikropylární oblast, která má 20 dlouhých hřebenů vycházejících ze středu.
Zploštělá struktura umožňuje stabilitu.
Obecně mají dvě generace: první generace létá v květnu a červnu, zatímco druhá v srpnu a září.
Počet generací se může lišit v závislosti na umístění, přísunu světla a teplotě.
Larvy mají tendenci se krmit od léta až do zimy.
Jakmile se přiblíží zimní měsíce, plně vzrostlé housenky se zakuklí v zámotcích na listech nebo lesní podestýlce.
Kokon má houževnaté bílé hedvábí s jednou jednoduchou vrstvou trávy, větviček nebo listů pro lepší ukrytí před predátory.
Když se larvy vylíhnou, mají tendenci vykusovat kulatý otvor do vajíčka. Obvykle jsou larvy připraveny k zakuklení po 30 dnech.
Ve stádiu housenky má tendenci se živit nízko rostoucími bylinami, včetně šťovíku, ostružiní, bodláků, chmele a někdy listy keřů. Larvy upřednostňují ovocné stromy, jako jsou druhy Prunus a rostliny z čeledi Polygonaceae.
Dospělé můry se většinou objevují červnu, ale mohou se objevit i v dřívějších měsících, pokud je počasí trvale teplé.

Acronicta rumicis, the knot grass moth, is a species of moth in the genus Acronicta and family Noctuidae.
Description
Adult
- wingspan: 34-44 mm
The forewings are blotched with a mixture of dark and light-grey shades.
A white spot is seen midway down the trailing edge of the forewing.
The hindwings are dark brown.
Asian moths tend to be larger than their European counterparts and have lower forewings with darker shades of grey.
Caterpillar:
- length: cca 40 mm
Dark brown body with white spots along both sides of the body and red spots along the centre of the back.
Body hairs grow in tufts, arranged in rows.
Distribution and habitat
Palearctic region
Northwestern China, the Korean Peninsula, Japan, Russia and almost all parts of Europe.
It is absent in some areas of north-western Scandinavia.
Wide-open areas like meadows, woodland clearings, gardens, and hedgerows, generally in non-humid areas.
Life
Females tend to lay eggs on leaves of host plants in large clusters, in almost regular, overlapping rows.
The egg stage lasts about 5 to 10 days. The eggs have a round flattened shape and has a micropylar area that has 20 long ridges that radiate from the center.
The flattened structure allows for stability on the host plant.
Generally the have two broods: the first generation flies in May and June, while the second flies in August and September.
The number of generations can differ based on location and may be determined by the duration of light and temperature ranges.
The larvae tend to feed from the summer onwards until winter.
Once the winter months near, fully grown caterpillars pupate in cocoons on leaves or leaf litter.
The cocoon has tough white silk with one simple layer of grass, twigs, or leaves for better concealment from predators.
When larvae hatch, they tend to nibble out the round opening of the egg. Usually, larvae are ready to pupate after 30 days.
At the caterpillar stage, it tends to feed on low-growing, herbaceous plants, including sorrel, dock, bramble, thistles, hop, and occasionally on the leaves of shrubs. In addition, larvae favour fruit trees like Prunus species and plants of the family Polygonaceae.
Adult moths tend to emerge in June but can also appear in earlier months if the weather is consistently warm.
