Loved your reading today. I agree that voting is important. I started voting when I turned 18. I was informed by my parents that the most important thing I needed to do is to vote to have a voice in what goes on in our Nation, City, State, and County. I have many friends who are of a different party that I affiliate myself with. Most of them are middle of the road when it comes to politics and we get along fine, in fact I have had to give them lessons on the Constitution to make them understand how our Nation is supposed to be. As a proud member of GenX, I too remember the 80’s with Regan. For years our voices were ignored. I remember arguing with completely normal people about whether a man can rape his wife. Just another beauty from our Commander in Chief during his divorce proceedings against Ivanka. I remember the general feeling that the homeless were choosing not to work. “Just get a job” they would say. BTW the homeless were created when Reagan closed the hospitals that cared for those with mental issues. (Our Vietnam vets). They have always been cruel but not like this. Strange to think that I miss them, the normal Republicans, but I do.
Having a government that works "for the people" I can live with regardless if I win for my party or not, it's something I can live with. phrump has brought forth the corruption of the GOP and it was needed whether we like that or not. In the end we are a democracy not a dictatorship or a monarchy, we can always work together it's not that hard a thing to do.
The Republicans haven't been for the people in decades maybe 50 years wake up

Democrats have been infiltrated by republicans like CNN and MSNBC, who have more republicans as comentaries than dems. Liberals need to STOP allowing someone else to drive the narrative. Cenk from TYT is running for congress and he has said that republicans who take CORPORATE Donations are taking BRIBES. He also says that Dems who take CORPORATE Donations are taking BRIBES. So it's time to call out those taking BRIBES, be them Dems or Republicans, and tell them, we will STOP voting for you! I am a Justice Liberal! Bernie for 2020!

Just gotta work for and hope for the best. I have been mindful today about reigning in my anger with the GOP.

However, the GOP is out of touch, regressive, anti-science, anti-human rights, anti- healthcare for all, anti living wages, and frankly, anti-Christ. Both parties are NOT equally corrupt. I’m sure there are a few good Republicans out there. The moderate ones. But there are far too many Evangelicals and racists in the party. The young people today aren’t into that mindset, so I see the Republican Party having fewer and fewer members.

I can't hate all Republicans because I love one of my brother and a decades long friends. I don't understand how they can continue to support this corrupt administration and Senate, but I still love them. However we respect each other by NEVER talking politics. We know it could potentially destroy our relationship and we have an unspoken agreement to avoid that topic at all costs. For my part, I know that SOMEDAY 45 and his sycophants will be gone, but these two people will always be a part of my life.
Still, I continue to hope and pray that their eyes will eventually opened.
On the other hand, I did have a close friend that had known since I was 16. She insisted on expressing her radical right opinions on every occasion, and I unfortunately had to end the friendship. Broke my heart.

I disagree. People are REVEALING who they really are right now. I could never be friends with a slaver. If any of my family were slavers how could i in good conscience have any type of relationship with them. These people are allowing children to be murdered because of their skin color and you are condoning that behavior by being civil and not talking about how wrong it is. Murder is still murder even if a loved one comitted it. Evil can exist and thrive even when good people do nothing. You are doing nothing. When god asks you, what did you do to help my children, what will your reply be? Well god we don't talk about politics in our family.
