Lyrics:
Love me, love me, love me, say you do
Let me fly away with you
For my love is like the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Give me more than one caress
Satisfy this hungriness
Let the wind blow through your heart
For wild is the wind, wild is the wind
You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know, you're life itself
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know, you're life itself!
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

When I was in the hospital and thought I would die from cancer I would play this song and it would give me absolute peace. Here I am 7 years later and very much alive and still playing “Wild Is The Wind.” Hope you touch Iman like a leaf that clings to a tree.
That's wonderful!
There is something about this song that stays with you.
Continued good health! 🌻
💖 Thank god for uncle Dave.. 💖
Wishing you all the very best 💖
No one will Ever sing this song as passionate as Bowie.Bowie!!!
💯🔥
Yes , he is the best
I mean, Simone was incredibly passionate in the first place, which I'm sure is partly why David wanted to cover it. Such a fantastic song.
Have been watching David since his Ziggy days and walked with him through all his creative years. Seen him live countless times and love Mick Ronson, wished SRV had actually been with him on Serious Moonlight tour as he was on the album. Early Slick, Carlos Alamar, Nile Rodgers, Mike Garson……. But Wild is The Wind is exotic, brilliantly performed and a huge tear jerker. One of my fav tracks and there are plenty of versions including the BBC session with Earl Slick. Add to this Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud as double A side as we used to say and you have a winner. I even had the original Space Oddity on old Phillips label which had Wild eyed boy as a B side. Our magic but stolen, now worth a fortune. So wild is the wind is part of my life…
You hear this once and you never forget it.
Absolutely true this.
...And you forever remember it!🌞🌌💗🕊💖
I'm 65 now, this is the best rendition ever, timeless ❤ sadly missed ❤😢
Oh my God, David. We miss u every day. Thanks for your music.
This song sung by David Bowie evokes such great emotions for me. Hauntingly beautiful!
He went out to dinner with Nina Simone to ask permission to cover this song...... what a man! What a human being!
It's the theme song to a movie of the same title, written by Dimitri Tomkin. Johnny Mathis sang the movie theme, and it won an Academy Award. It's easy to hear why.
On the bright side, David doesn’t have to witness today’s music.
It’s a Johnny Mathis song from ‘57.
David Bowie is definitely an alien.
@@Blogspierre he was wasn't he exceptionally exquisite and I miss every part of him ,I feel like he is my inner soul
Vocally, Bowie's finest moment ? Up there with Lady Grinning Soul & word on a wing.
Agreed.
I'd add Sweet Thing, Candidate and 'Look Back in Anger' to that.
Only David Bowie could attempt to cover this song and pull it off. His voice is an instrument and the production is sublime..
I agree !! Have you listened to the album PIN UPS??? The whole record he does exactly what you stated. Enjoy my friend 😊
Agree! Yet, George Michael's version of it is also beautiful
George Michael's version is so beautiful. GM had an amazing voice and could sing anything perfectly
Ever hear Cat Power's version?
If nostalgia and love was a sound...this would be it....
beautiful song by a beautiful man.
His voice is so haunting
He was a gift to all of this world
May he look down upon us
and be proud
Oh Starman.
Don't you just get awe struck when you reflect on Bowie's contribution to the world of arts n media♡♥︎♥︎♡
Sorry but what could make him "proud of us" ????
Dedicated to my husband, who is fighting cancer. Don't you know you're life itself?
One of the greatest vocal performances of our time
Ewaniversal Productions exactly
Most definitely!
Привет.
Ewaniversal Productions Absolutely!
I agree 100%
Only Bowie could understand the slav heart.
Oh my God! The depth of emotion in this song is astounding. His voice isn’t a voice…it’s an instrument❤️
You should hear Jonnie Mathis sing it.

Always appreciate your replies ;)
Seems we are pretty like-hearted regarding our dear David Bowie
Accurate on all counts.
Even though I am happy that Iman saved him from emotional distress & loneliness, I still have my fantasies of what it would be like to have been his wife. To be the one he chose to live the remainder of his life with. Would I have been able to fill that void in his heart? Monumental task or if the timing was right, a natural colliding of souls?
@@collettebadgley4102 Sorry, but You'd have needed to get in line behind folk of all genders and kinds--me included! :-)
He didn't write it and there have been many covers but David's rendition of this beautiful love song is out on it's own and one of his personal best performances imo. He takes it to an almost ethereal level and I keep returning to it time and time again. If listening to this song does not move you, you're already dead! I miss this man so much and am so grateful for the incredible legacy he left us. Thank you Mr Bowie 💕
Well said.
Nina Simone........
Дэвид с нами, навсегда. Его голос
So, 40 years later, I find out he didn't write it!

Headphones, maximum volume, eyes closed...and this song..food for soul! Thank you..i have a smile on my face each time i put it! This song is a unique piece of high art!❤
It makes cry too, is a masterpiece
I suffer from severe tinnitus now, lying on my floor with Bowie blasting out both speakers in the 70's and 80's.
Ooops, not funny actually
I miss him so much
He said the way he sung this song is the closest to his real voice.
He had an incredible artistic mind making great music for decades
I'm 65 yo...I've followed DB throughout his entire career, at least from space oddity...I've never been more mesmerized than the first time I saw him on Don Kershner's "In Concert"...just hypnotizing...the way he sang, the way he danced...I became an immediate fan...hooked for life...DB evolved through so many personas...and his art (not just his music) evolved...his voice evolved...damn, what I'd give to sing like DB...David always said he never wanted to be anything more than a "rock n roll singer"...well, he did that and more...I MISS HIM SORELY...I'm teared up now thinking about him...he always delivered - ALWAYS!!
Same here, 50 years of pure adoration since I was 10 ☺️
he's perfect.
Im crying like an idiot.....
How can I feel sad about someone Ive never met???
I have and even though he arrived with his entourage he cane ove to me on the dance floor grabbed me. And danced and then he took me over to the table and chairs and sat me on his lap I was 18 and a huge bowie fan since eleven I will never forget his accent his charisma charming young dude this was when he was down under in Brisbane. The serious moonlight tour my favourite. Bowie song on stage is station to station the sound of the train is deafening and melodic and iam mesmerised by Bowie’s presence on stage and off he is loved by all boys and grrrls. Rock on Davey. Rebel rebel hot tramp I love you so I was in a street gang I was a rebel how could he know

His authenticity is breathtakingly beautiful.
My husband and I danced to this song on our wedding day. Oct 25 2013, will always continue to be one of my ultimate Bowie/ songs of all time.
My girlfriend and I danced to this song the evening Bowie died. I will always be grateful to mr David Bowie for him sharing his soul and making the world a better place.
Beautiful choice. .

At the beginning I heard the song I could not stand it What is the connection between romance and David Bowie? But now I'm starting to understand what emotion he put into this performance. Absolute genius. Mozart and Shakespeare are combined together.R.I.P Bowie

He sounds so emotional and vulnerable in this song.
which is not like him at all.....I think this song TRULY meant something to him....it makes him remember someone he once loved
One of my favorite Bowie songs. I was 10 years old when I heard this song coming up through our heat vents from my brothers basement room. I miss David Bowie and I miss my brother too.
God Bless David Bowie and God Bless to you and your brother 🙏 ❤
Melancholy can be a comfort...
I feel you so much in your comments. My older brother played Bowie while I was growing up and there is nothing like that visceral sound and connection. I am forever endeared to his music (familial). I lost my brother in 2011 and lost Bowie later 😢 This song makes me happy and also haunted at the same time.
It's a Nina Simone song!!!
@@wendywalker6922 No. Dimitri Tiomkin and NedWashington wrote it in 1957. Nina recorded it in 66 .

almost 2020, checking in....this man was a god. But all gods leave us.
For the longest time, I've wondered why he had a sax player in the video when there's no sax in the song, and the sax player doesn't even mime sax. He's just there, enjoy the Bowie of it all.
No bro left behind!
They could well have filmed another title or two and he was part of the band.Hypnotic just the same.

Dear David Bowie;
I ❤ love this song, I'm a big fan, although, I didn't remember it was a Nina Simone cover, I had it on vinyl, that, I bought from Amoeba Records in Hollywood, in like Spring 2007, and, I listened to it on my 5-stack Vintage 1970's Diamond Head JVC Record Player, that, I grew up with in the 1980's, that, I recently heard originally belonged to David Bowie's best friend, fair Mick Jagger, and, it's one of my favorite tracks of all time!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Years!

I always thought it was weird that he finally made a video to this song in 1980 instead of in 76' when Station to Station came out.
About three days into having that album I considered this the best part of a great album.
What a grear voice David Bowie had singing this song. But it had been sung before, and had not been written by him.

Me too friend, Me too 🙁
This will always be my favourite song by my favourite singer
David brought opera and elegance to rock and roll
I bought the single when it came out back in the late seventies. I was studying for a B.Ed at Gipsy Hill college in Kingston upon hill in London. That’s where I met the love of my life who was Dutch and came over for afew weeks to study. We maintained a strong relationship for four years , keepiing in touch with letters and putting money into telephone boxes. We loved each other so much. I saved up to go to the Netherlands every six weeks and he did the same to come to see me. Travelling on the ferry to see each other. This song reminds me of when I so longed for him and waited for the day when we could be together again. After forty years we are still in contact, and I am glad about that..
He was a beautiful spirit and we are all blessed to have been graced with his voice, grace and talent!!
I reflect and am embracing lyrics from the amazing artist we listened to. Oh, were they wise beyond their time!!! Stay strong people. Let the wisdom of many artist before give us strength. Wise beyond their years! Hope you are all well!!! This too shall pass. Turn on some old school and rock on😘
