I have an older lifepo4 energizer power station only has a 144wh battery and a 240 watt inverter and claims to do just 8amps out of the dc. I've found that I can power up a 5kw diesel heater when the battery is fully charged and not when less than about 60 percent. These smaller batteries might be able to hold a higher voltage if you test them fully charged. Thanks for these videos.
I'm going to do a whole video seeing which power stations can run different diesel heaters. Charge level might also play a role in whether they light or not. :)
Your cable from the heater may be too small for the length, and you are suffering voltage drop/sag along that supply for the heater. Try shortening or using a larger gauge cable. My friend had this issue with his and this I found was the problem
Thanks for your video. Since the purchase of the EB3A I´ve been using the unit in intensive mode 40 times. One charge a day in stardard mode from the wall socket and discharge along the day in different appliances (washing machine (cold programm), laptop, mobiles charging, home lightning,...) and I´ve noticed that it is lasting longer to charge from 0% to 100% from the first day. And I guess one day will be time to change the battery pack. Is it really difficult to build a battery pack for replacement with its BMS as seen in your video? Do we need to use the same BMS?
I'm surprised you were unable to power the diesel heater. I have the EB3a and it works perfectly powering my 5kw diesel heater. Ran for 12 hours from full charge with 45% charge remaining.
And that's why I want to test various portable heaters with the power stations. As the Jackery powered the same heater that the EcoFlow and Bluetti couldn't. State of charge may also play a factor in this.

By mistake I plugged in a big solar panel, exceeding 28vdc and the mppt regulator burned out. Any suggestions on repair or spare parts? Would greatly appreciate any help.
It's something I've been thinking about. I need a test that I can set up and leave, but have the results waiting for me. I'm very open to suggestions. Something like a 200W load and some kind of time measuring device.
I just made a video on my channel of one of these running and window ac unit in my RV and then have 6 golf cart batteries and inverter plugged into rv and BLUETTI plugged into outlet in rv charging at same time. So it ended up only taking 200 watts from lead acid bank so I will be able run ac all night.
I had to fix one of these for a lady - solar input had a Cold solder that broke where connected to board - I made solder joint completely around connector - this solar input connector / board looks to be common between some brands and is not a sturdy enough in use - over all unit looks well made
Hello. Would you be able to expand its capacity by extra external battery? Say 12v 24V. Cracking break down on stuff.. I do like taking things apart but it's normally to sort them.😁 stay safe 🏴
Thinking of getting a power bank to mainly run the diesel heater 5kw , would the jackery 240w (small one )work just fine ,or is it worth going one more level up in the jackery range ?
Nice to see that has earth pass through, North America with US style plug don’t have that, just a plastic hole we’re the ground pin supposed to be. The yellow plugs inside are xt60 connector, common in rc hobby world
13:52 any idea if that battery pack with BMS salvaged from broken unit will work without that extra com cable or whatever it is connected with a different MPPT controller?
Unlikely. The connection with the rest of the system tells that particular BMS to turn the output on/off etc. But it would be fairly easy to just remove that board and solder on a seperate BMS.
I have a sort of knock off unit which beeps and beeps every time there is a high power demand like my fridge turning on... It's ok with the diesel heater. I opened up the unit but as I am a civil engineer not an electrical one. I don't know which part to disable or what it looks like any assistance would be greatly appreciated Cheers Dave

Great video! I purchased one of these on Prime Days (Amazon) and would love to use this for portable ham radio ops, but the limit to 10 amps DC also would limit my TX power. While you were in there did you see anywhere to tap off to get 12v but have a greater than 10 amp service? I'd rather not have to drag my 30 amp power supply to run the Yaesu as that wouldn't be very portable. 😉
You could try tapping of the batteries before they go into the inverter. But this would still be at battery voltage and would need to be stepped down to your 12V
Love your power station teardown videos. Can you do a Ctechi gt200 please.. they're currently in stock and on offer on Ctechi's official ebay store.. thanks
I wonder if the space around the battery's is for air insulation. I've had mine in the winter with no heat and been scared they would die from the cold. Van life
The cold doesn't kill them but depending on the BMS it'll either refuse to charge until they are warmer or it'll charge at a much slower rate until the batteries heat up.

And if you try to adjust the fuel ratio to bring up the heat, you gain little, but burn alot more diesel.. I turn it up until I see some smoke, and then dial it back a little to get it to run as hot as possible, but not soot...

I'd put as many solar panels on as you can fit. How often does your van move? I ask this as I'd also mount the panels on the adjustable bases so they can be angled up to point at the sun.
I'm surprised it's 24v inside there. With those cells if they had run the batteries in 2p4s and everything based off 12v DC, I bet the diesel heater test would have worked better.
I have the EB3A and it does what its suppose to do. But If they made the EB3A with lets say 700 watts it would be little more useful or one that can take a supplemental battery like the Ecoflow River. That is a great idea for smaller capacity solar generators such as the EB3A.
You have to use the DC barrel plug and regulate the voltage and amperage to what it indicates for the MPPT charge regulator in the unit. I've seen DIY lithium ion add on battery packs, I'd prefer a LiFePo4 instead of a Li-on battery pack for a back-up. For the solar then you have to have a MPPT solar charge regulator to run your solar to the battery pack to keep the whole thing charged.
