I'm glad you guys enjoyed the box! Zapps are my favorite chips. So I made sure to send you as many flavors as I could find lol.
We love them so much! Thank you! They are some of the best chips we've tried! Now I just need a way to get a supply of the Voodoo flavour! 😀
@@ThisWithThem you can order online. They might ship there lol
I'll send you more voodoo zapps if you send me more prawn and cocktail walkers hahahaha
Tony's on spaghetti is amazing. Also in gravies over rice, or chicken, or Sunday roasts, or as she said, literally everything. So glad you liked the Zapps. An addendum. Sprinkle some on the regular flavored chips. 😜
Isawthe Sign Zapps. Best chips ever. 💕
Ohhh..I'm so glad you got to try the VooDoo and VooDoo Heat...those are my favorites!! VooDoo flavor is like combining Salt and Vinegar with a Ketchup Chip!
Best flavor EVER!
Yes that is such a good description of the voodoo chips, to me they resemble the “all dressed” flavor chips from Canada!!
I’m from Louisiana and yes, we like our food spicy. The state is known for its Creole and Cajun Foods. Louisiana is a little different than a lot of other states. We are definitely part of the south but we also have our own very uniqueness about us and definitely known for food. When it comes to Tony’s seasoning, that goes on everything I eat almost. I don’t carry it in my purse though. lol Most restaurants actually have it there to use.
Please, it’s not a Pee-can (how you pronounce Pecan). As I tell others that pronounce it that particular way, a pee-can is something that you would place beside your bed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night if you’re too lazy to go walk to the toilet. Eating that would not be a good idea. LOL How we pronounce it in Louisiana is puh-kaan.
I enjoyed the video!
Those my favorite I’m from Louisiana I’m glad y’all liked them
Divinity is literally the hardest thing to make. The weather has to be right, the humidity has to be right, you have to hold your tongue in the right position, you have to wear only a left shoe, have your shirt on backwards, and sacrifice a chicken to make sure it comes out right...🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
cynthia hedge yes, it depends on the humidity, we can only make it here on cold crisp days with low humidity.
@jillipepper5353 Yeah, my mom only makes it at Christmas time here in VA...last time she made it, the cat stepped in it though 🤣
That's amazing! Well when it all comes together it's certainly worth it!!
Hahaha! 😂 I love your description but it is so true! Check the weather before trying to make it. Better yet find some already made. There is a new Stucky's near me I will be going there to get some and a pecan roll.
I am from Louisiana so I am so happy that someone sent you a boxs from here😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yay, I've been waiting for this one! I LOVE Zapp's Chips! You can find them everywhere here in Louisiana. The Cajun Crawtaters are my fave. Only thing about them is it makes me want to go to a crawfish boil every time I eat them. Thanks for sharing your experience! Love y'all!
Same!!!
Glad you can finally watch it!! 😀😀 they were so amazing! You’ve very lucky you can get them where you live hehe
Give me the cajun crawtators, a hot sausage on french dressed with cheese and two pig lips with hot sauce and I'm in heaven!
Louisiana girl here! So happy to see our state represented on your channel.
You guys may not know this, but Creole and Cajun are two of the major ethnicities/cultures in Louisiana, and certainly best known. They are fairly unique to that area.
The Cajuns are descendants of Acadians, who were French colonists living in New France (today’s Eastern Canada). The word even came from a heavy-accented pronounciation of “Acadian”. They still speak a form of French and mostly live out in the Bayou, which is the swampy delta of the Mississippi. Cajuns like their crawfish, alligator, turtle, nutria and anything else they can trap. Ever watch Waterboy with Adam Sandler? He’s cajun, though in a satirical (somewhat) way.
The Creoles are descendants of African slaves who were brought to New Orleans by the Spanish and then the French. They brought with them African, Caribbean and European cooking techniques. Jambalaya (a Creole paella), etouffé, gumbo and others are Creole foods. They’re typically not spicy, but slow-cooked, saucy and complex in flavours. Creoles have a very different holy trinity than the French - onions, celery and green bell peppers (capsicums), owing to their Spanish roots.
Unlike other cities in the US, New Orleans was a Spanish colony, which was taken over by the French, and then Americans. There is little to no English influence there.
George L I’m an Acadian from Nova Scotia, Canada! 😁 The Acadians didn’t “take over” New Orleans however. There was a great expulsion where over 11,000 people were taken out of Nova Scotia, and a lot didn’t survive the trip. They were sent to other parts of the US as well, the Caribbean, and France. The ones in France were relocated to Louisiana by the Spanish. This all happened because during the French and Indian War, the British thought the Acadians were aligned with the French. They were ripped from their homes with nothing and forced into other countries where they essentially became enslaved in some cases, or left to work in lousy jobs. Some of them made their way back into Canada over time, but not all to Nova Scotia. A large amount went to New Brunswick. Sorry for the history lesson.....lol
I’m from New Orleans 🙋🏼♀️. I love Zapp’s!
Zapps are my favorite. We get them here in Texas. Cajun Crawtater and Cajun Dill are the best. You need to do a "low country boil" with that creole seasoning. Basically, boil shrimp, crawfish, sausage, new potatoes, and corn cobs with water, butter, and a @#!& ton of that seasoning. Oh and we say "puh-cahn," only northerners say "pee-can" 😁
Mhm. "Pee can " gets me every time I hear it😂
I live very close to Shreveport, LA. We go over from TX to eat at many of their great restaurants like The Blind Tiger. Zapps are sold in our small town.
I'm from marshall
Louisiana here also 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 was awesome seeing you try some of our well known snacks and treats!
Yay so glad we could try them!!
Yes we Louisianians LOVE spice! Not many Louisiana cuisines that don’t burn your mouth.
In my house zapps are the chips of choice but none of the flavors are considered very spicy. If you want a real snack you need to try red pepper cracklin's, not too hot but a nice kick.
Oof I actually don't care for much spice lol.
Thats is the fleur-de-lis. Symbol of Louisiana.
Ah I see. Thank you
its an old French symbol
It's also a symbol of Louisville, KY.
It is also used as part of symbolism for Boy Scouts
Yay!! You have a Louisiana box with ZAPPS! Can’t wait to watch it!
Hello from Texas! Tony's seasoning is a must to keep in the pantry here. Most everyone I know uses it quite frequently. The one y'all had was original, but there's also one called "more spice" that's got more heat. I think people from Texas & Louisiana (or the South) have more of a tolerance for spicy foods, generally speaking. We always have fresh jalapenos on hand at our house.
Oh wow. Not sure I could handle the more spice haha 🥵 yeah I feel that too
Aw I loved this video. So much. It was amazing to watch. Really enjoyed it 💗
Definitely wanna go buy some now! Great review
The Dollar Tree has Zapp’s Voodoo and Dill Pickle flavors! And the praline is pronounced pray-leen.
Some also call them prah-leen's just more depends on region like pecan (granted that has 4 way's to say it vs two lol)
I've lived in Louisiana almost 30 years. I used to pronounce praline as "pray-leen", but after living here, the locals (and now me after almost 30 years) pronounce it "Prah-leen".
I live in Western PA and have just started seeing Zapps around here! So excited to try the jalapeno ones!!!
You can sometimes find Zapps in Ohio. Jungle Jim’s down by Cincinnati has them, they have everything, but I’ve also seen them up here in Cleveland!
Wish we could get them in the UK 😍
Yess! Couldn’t click fast enough! I’m from Louisiana and enjoyed this video and I loved hearing y’all pronounce certain words 😁 idk if y’all have ever tried Boudain but it’s a must!
My daughter and i found Zapps in our local grocery store this morning , Mayville Wisconsin . Of course we grabbed the Voodoo and tried them , so yummy.
I just found this channel and I am obsessed!!!! I am from Ontario Canada! Love seeing all these snacks! I love spicy foods, my brother took a trip to New Orleans and he said most of the food had spice to it! I am shocked as he is a chip lover that he didnt try Zapps chips and I just messaged him that next time he goes he better bring back a ton for us!
Yes! I've been waiting for this video ever since you announced that you had a box of Zapps coming. I grew up eating the spicy cajun crawtators, and I loved the sweet creole onion when they came out. I also grew up eating the Elmer's Chee Weez with green onion being my favorite. I put Tony's in everything. It goes great as a substitute for salt and pepper. Elmer's also makes candy in Louisiana, and there are several items that you can only get around Easter.
I'm from South Louisiana and the Elmer's that you tried are some of my favorites!!!
LOL...a "pee-can" is what a long-haul trucker uses when he doesn't want to stop at a restroom! :)
😂😂😂
There are four major ways to pronounce "pecan" in the US:
www.farmflavor.com/at-home/cooking/how-do-you-say-pecan-mapping-food-dialect-trends-across-the-u-s/
I'm from Texas and I've always said pee-kahn
So excited for this, uploaded early! 🤗 Thursday is the best thanks for these videos
Hey Grayson! Hope you enjoy the video! 😀🎉
InTheKitchenWithKate always do and chips are my favorite snack food
One of mine too!! 😋😋
You can also get Toney's In Alabama and I use it in flour to coat chicken for frying
Not in central Iowa! Love the packaging! You should one time take us on a tour of a grocery store in the UK! I would love to see the difference!
Kari Moore I agree, that’d be interesting
Awesome packaging! I’ve always wanted to do that but wasn’t sure you guys would be interested haha
I live in DesMoines, Iowa. You can find three flavors of Zapps at Dollar Tree. That have started selling them recently. I agree a tour would be interesting.
Yes definitely do! And I live in Des Moines too so I’ll check out the dollar Tree it’s amazing what turns up in that store!
Sooo happy im a LOUISIANN GAL and i so glad that yall are getting to try these!!!
Yaaaay 😀♥️ so glad we could try them!
Love ur vids and I love u guys and i love u guys laugh and u guys are the best
Keep up the content, your both doing a great job and I really enjoy the channel. Voodoo is my favourite Zapps
I live in Louisiana!!!! I love watching y’alls youtube channel!! Y’all are so funny and always put a smile on my face! Just the cutest brother/sister duo ☺️ I look forward to watching all your new videos and i’m so excited to see one about my home state!
Thank you Nora! So pleased you love watching. Glad we finally had a box from where you live 😀😀
I clicked “like” before the video even started just because of your shirt😍
I’ve been dying for you all to try the fruity tootsie rolls!!!!!
Something really cool about salt water taffy, is that it’s not made with an ocean-type water like a lot of people think it is, it’s actually made from salted freshwater!!! The best state to get saltwater taffy is definitely from Maryland! 💛
I love your guys' videos you guys are so cute love you get to try all the great treats
Hi from Massachusetts! We have Zapp’s here 😊 they started appearing in New England the last couple of years
Love Tony's seasoning. It's delicious on meats and potatoes. We always take it with us when we go camping.
Louisiana here! Spicy is what this state was born on lol so proud of you for trying the spicy chips.
Ah yes I love Zapps voodoo flavored chips. They’re like a semi-spicy ketchup flavor😋
Yes a new video time to get the snacks out love you both xx
Yay! 😀🎉
The Voodoo came about when several of their different spices for other flavors got mixed together in a factory accident. They did a limited run and got such a positive result that it became a regular flavor. My favorite flavor is the Cajun Dill Gator Taters. They have a flavor called Crawtater because the spices are similar to those used in crawfish boil seasoning.
@inthekitchenwithkate the Tootsie candies make great cake decorations. I use them to make small figures and what-nots. When they warm up in your hand, you can shape them into anything.
I live in Atlanta, GA and we have Zapp's here, but the only ones I have ever tasted are the Voodoo, love them.
Vodoo is like a mix of lots of flavors togther! Lol was typing this while the description was being read
I think the packaging of Zapps is emphasizing New Orleans. The French Quarter with the street lamps like on the packages, the stripes remind me of Mardi Gras, and the Fleur di lis is a French symbol (as well as Louisiana symbol).
Another awesome video! I love pecan divinity and pecan logs (have you tried the logs yet?).
I twist a vanilla and orange fruit chews together.
We just recently got Zapps Voodoo and Voodoo Heat in our store in MN. Can't find any of the other flavors. I do love the Sweet Onion. So delicious!! I go to Louisiana every Mardi Gras and spend a week with my sister in law seeing as many parades as possible! It's so much fun.
No way, I am so jealous!! Oh cool that sounds so fun 😀😀
@@ThisWithThem it's so much fun. I highly recommend you go. The parades are amazing. I always go to get a purse, a shoe and a mask. But be very careful because when they throw them at you they hurt. They are actual shoes! 😂
Hey guys! It is pronounced "Sat-cher-ees" but we tend just call it Tony's. A lot of Louisianan's do in fact carry a small can of it in their bag for us in restaurants. My first job was in a small hole-in-the-wall cajun restaurant and we put shakers of it on the table with the salt and pepper. (I had to explain what the red stuff was a lot!)
Thank you!! Haha that’s so cool.
Great box all kinds of yummy
LOVE Zapp's...I make sure to pick up the Voodoo chips when I stop at Wawa here in New Jersey. As soon I started the video, I knew you guys would like them too! :)
zapps is the best. i dont live in Louisiana anymore but i sure do miss it
Yessss!! When I was pregnant I craved the zapps creole onion and my now husband mailed me a case of them while he was deployed!! I also have my family mail me chee wees!!! The best!!! Louisianan here station in NC
Hey kate I'm a new subscriber and I love your channel .I'm glad your trying Zapp's.I love them so much
Hey!! Thank you for subscribing 😀 Welcome to our channel!! Hope you enjoy our videos to come ☺️ they’re delicious
Live in LA and LOVE the Cajun Crawtaters...new subbie!
This is so cool!! I’m from West Monroe! Hoped y’all enjoyed our treats!
We have some Zapps here in the Midwest, but I haven’t really tried them. Now I want some!
They're definitely worth a try! 😀
So yummy, love all the crisps
😋😋
Great video as usual! Here in Canada we pronounce the Trollis as “Troll-ees” 😁
They used to make a limited edition flavor ‘Tabasco’ that was so good! My husband and I would devour a bag with a few beers every Friday night.
Yay! A birthday treat for me! I love y'all 💛❤💛❤
Jackie Bennett happy birthday 🎉
Happy Birthday Jackie!! 🎉 Hope you enjoy the video!!
Oh wow!! Thank you guys!!
Happy birthday
@@jessicawolf7572 thank you!
Zapp's Voodoo chips are in my top 3 favorite chips 😋
I can’t wait to get my box.
When I saw you guys were doing a box of all zapps chips I got SO excited because they are absolutely my favorite chips!!!✨My number one favorite is the voodoo chips, voodoo heat, and the salt and vinegar!! To me the Voodoo chips mostly resemble the “all dressed” chips that you can find in Canada!!! This video was awesome!!! ✨
Tony's is the best seasoning, I use it on pretty much everything. It's sold all over the US.
love that movie too!! my fav part is the chinese drive thru!! and then!!! those chips look amazing
West Monroe is just through the woods from me and I’ve never seen that seasoning. Going to give it a try.
Different peppers hit you to a different strength, but also... in different spots and at different times. Part of the art of cooking spicy foods is knowing which hit where and when and using them strategically. Also, while green jalapeños are fairly mild and grassy in flavour, red (fully ripe) ones are extremely hot and rarely used.
Those voodoo chips where the only thing I ate my entire senior year of high school here in Alabama! I love them and I figured out the flavors before I’d read the bag. LOVE THEM!
We get Zapp’s here in NJ! Since utz owns the company, which is based out of Pennsylvania, we get to have them here!
Also, salt water taffy does not contain salt water lol
It’s just sold on the boardwalk, by the ocean 😊
I thought I saw them in my local wawa before. Gonna have to look for the voodoo flavor!
We have tried the zapps chips here in Iowa but only have a limited selection. Interesting to see how many they have. Will have to try and get other flavors online.
I live in Mississippi and I have been able to find them in stores, voodoo is my favorite!
Cool now that you've tried Zapp's, now you have to try all of the Old Vienna from Missouri, USA!
Voodoo is my favorite!!!! I live in NC they are not popular here but sometimes they pop up!
The creole onion is my favorite! I can only get them when I go home to Louisiana though.
We get a limited selection of Zapps in Florida! Voodoo Heat are my favorite. We also get the Creole seasoning. It is my favorite spice. I put it on just about anything!!!
Absolutely love creole foods! Tony's is a favorite of ours and is available i believe all around the US. Zapps are Available in Ohio and at a local grocery store where I live. We love Zapps and was always told that they want you to open them from the bottom because all the Flavor of the chips tend to sit on the bottom of the bag. Tony's on baked chicken or beer can chicken on the BBQ is amazing!
My mom would make divinity every year at theThanksgiving and Christmas holidays. It is really good.
My Nanny made divinity at Christmas! So fluffy! I love it
I love this video sooooo much!! Voodoo heat are my favorite chips ever. I could eat 100 bags lol
Louisiana here!! I love Zapps!!!
Yaay 😀
I LOVE Zapp's!
Growing up in Newfoundland we ate mustard pickles (piccalillis), that’s what I thought of when you talked about that flavour
Also Kate & Alex, you should absolutely look up on CZcams a video of Cajun/Creole Louisiana natives talking. Their accent is amazing and very different than what you commonly hear in the southern US.
Ugh, now I'm gonna have to go to the store tomorrow and get some Zapps!
Woot woot!! Louisiana box!
I'm sad to say they missed a flavor. Bbq ranch. They are amazing!!!
I LOVE Zapps. Whenever I visit Louisiana, I bring Zapps back to Canada. I find Voodoo tastes like All-Dressed.
You two are so funny!!
I live in Louisiana and only about 10 miles from Gramercy. I love Zapps Chips. I think my favorite is the jalapeno favor.
So do I. I live in St Rose.
I love the accent and the way you guys talk!
Thank you 😀
I love regular flavor, salt and vinegar, and cajun dill gator tators. But they are all so so good
When you were saying circus and clowns, I think it is suppose to be like Mardi Gras
Kate I love your t-shirt It's absolutely amazing Love it
There is a bbq place where I live in California that has started selling Zapps. I just tried the Voodoo ones the other day. We also get the Tony's seasoning here as well. My husband makes a creole sausage and pasta dish with it.
Kate with her glass of milk is definitely me! I love eating spicy things but they don't love me 🤣
I love Tony's!! I don't live in the south, but we put it on everything too 😁
I love Zappz!
That symbol is the Fleur de lis. It's seen all over New Orleans. But is also heavily associated with France as well as the Medici family in Italy.
Thanks that is true, but also in French Canada as well!
Thank you ☺️☺️
@@Diamandinae Yes also French Canada! I think it would be pretty much anywhere with French influence.
