Peers were left in hysterics after a House of Lords clerk read out a confusing tongue-twister after Brexit legislation cleared the House of Commons. Report by Matt Blair.
MESSAGE FROM THE COMMONS that they agree to certain amendments made by the Lords in lieu of amendments made by the Lords to the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill to which they disagreed; they agree to the amendment made by the Lords to their amendment made in lieu of an amendment made by the Lords to which they disagreed; and they agree to the amendments made by the Lords to their amendments made in lieu of the amendment made by the Lords to which they disagreed with amendments, to which they desire the agreement of your Lordships. Why yes, I think that's all quite clear.
Who would have thought that the unelected upper house would be the strongest defender of democratic norms and processes against this wannabe authoritarian clown show?

"And that's an explanatory note?!" - Jim Hacker
You just know Jacob Rees-Mogg wrote this. XD
It does seem like the sort of thing he'd do as a joke on the Lords.
The clerk just earned themselves one of John Bercow's medicaments
I couldn't hear, could you repeat please?
Yes Prime Minister....
Most were asleep I bet
Yes, it's a joke. Because they won't exit.
Bad news for you..
Wakey wakey
Lol.

It's why its best to keep them as they are, you don't want a second elected House of Commons which just nods through everything the government wants.
