Mrs. Krabappel
Dr. Marvin Monroe and Troy Mcclure, what again no honorable mention ?
Can you do more family guy videos pls?
Nelson: HAHAHA xD
Nelson: :( me to
I hate the subplot associated with #8, but #7 was even worse; Homer drove him insane! Speaking of Homer, he was downright responsible for what happened to Maude.
Edna Krabappel dying was like a season 1 Walking Dead character dying. She’d been there for so long, it doesn’t feel the same without her.
Are there even any characters left from season 1 on walking dead anymore? I assume Darryl still is but I can’t think of any others
@@allienixon8959 isn’t Carrol still alive?
@@allienixon8959 Darryl and Carol are the only ones from season 1.
Since Marcia Wallace, who voiced Edna Krabappel, died it would have been awkward to have Mrs. K continue.
That show is till on?
Edna's death was the saddest one especially when Flanders can't catch a break.
Ned really miss these two ladies... poor bastard.
Right !!! That one broke my heart 😫😭😭
@@chadkennedy7855 yeah I feel so horrible for him and it does just hurts alot like hell

Frank Grimes is the perfect example as to why a real-life person cannot live in the world of The Simpsons.
It is true! The Simpsons universe is not a suitable place for us real people. There are schools of their own customs and rules - that is, among children, (which is perhaps best seen in the Simpsons comic books) work does not care about the safety of workers, the place is full of dishonesty, things are often resolved by violence, culturally significant things are mocked and despised, no one knows what to trust and who and what not, etc.
But would our reality be a suitable place for the inhabitants of the Simpsons universe? When things are taken much more seriously here and there are completely different rules here than they have for people’s behavior, school, work and other things. I think only Lisa would be the only one who might feel comfortable here in our world, don't you think?
We’ll never forget Mrs. Krabappel
And to think her voice actor was once known as Mrs. Caruthers in Full House too.
Krabappel?! I’ve been calling her Crandall this whole time 😭
😂
I only saw Simpsons seasons 1-19 so I haven’t seen the episode wear Edna died.
The teacher? I was today years old when I found out she died
By the way they reason they axed her off was crap. Someone else could have voiced her after her original voice actor died.
Mona Simpson bumping her head towards her truck and saying,"D'oh!" is what I remember about her.
RIP Mona Simpson.
They must REALLY regret killing her off because Glenn Close always comes back to voice her in flashbacks/ghost visions
I met the voice actress Glen Close, she’s nice
I remember that too! In fact, I watched that episode again.
how she died?
@@olvialee7221 Cool!
Frank Grimes is a prime example of how talented voice actor Hank Azaria is. It's basically just his regular voice but with such intensense and still makes it stand out from his other major voices.
Didn’t know Edna died until this showed up
@@darthvalle9140 Same here!
His friends called him "Grimey".
Grimes will forever be my LEAST favourite character
Me either! But I haven’t watched any newer episodes in years… I just watch the odd rerun on tv
Ms. Edna Krabappel was a beautiful female character, the voice actress did a fantastic job and she will always be remembered.
I loved Marsha Wallace on the old Bob Newhart show
You only get one chance with Edna Krabappel.
Yeah I have to agree with you on that cause I always like Edna so very very much and her death did hit me very hard it hurts alot like hell
Wait....So you're telling me Edna Krabapple is.......DEAD?!!??!!! 🥺😱😭😭😭😭😭😭😰😨🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🥵🥶🤧🤯😵🧐🙄🤔🤪🙃😣😟😕😤🤬😡😠🤬🤖💀👽🤡🥸🥴😫😩😞☹😟🤒🤪🙄😒😳🤨😬😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😰😱👽💣
@@thatsjustnotfair5888 yeah cause the actress who plays her had really pass away years ago and they just couldn't find someone to replace her so they decided to really kill of her character and I know exactly what you mean it really really hurts so very bad like hell
Homer’s moms death reminded me of my grandma. She was in hospice the last few weeks of her life, and I visited her the week before she died. She was half awake and didn’t know I was there, but I told her I loved her and I hoped she wasn’t in pain. Seeing Homer trying to wake his mom up made me cry so much because it reminded me of how I wanted her to be awake so she would have heard what I said.
RIP Grandma
I'm so sorry😔! I'm sure your grandma was a good person.

The episode where Bleeding Gums Murphy dies always made me cry as a kid, though I loved when he and Lisa got to play a rendition of "Jazzman" together.
Jazzman really hits home especially when Lisa says goodbye to him. I still listen to the whole thing when the credits roll.
When I watched the episode again I realized that Bleeding Gums Murphy knew he was about to die but didn't tell Lisa that because he knew it would upset her. The main clue was when he gave her his saxophone right before she left for the concert. Still it was upsetting when she finds out the next day that he died in his sleep.
@@melissacooper8724 least he spent some time Lisa before he died. And that he passed away peacefully.
I actually made a charcoal drawing of Lisa and Clouds version of Bleeding Gums playing Jazzman.
Maude's death was actually more impactful since evidently in Simpson online storyline threads she was apparently Margie's only friend.
And this is really all of Homer's fault cause he always have really been a prick and a complete asshole to ned all because he really just had killed both of his wives and he have always just take his things without giving them back
@@jahceirgilbert3031 To be fair he didn't exactly kill her himself. Still totally his fault that she died though.
@@neh1234 he always really have really been a prick and a complete asshole to ned because he always have took his stuff without giving them back cause he is extremely selfish
@@neh1234 and he loves to kill other people wives and every single time just ned gets married homer has just kills his wives so he can really just take his stuff without giving them back and he just loves to keep pushing him around cause he is an arrogant selfish asshole
Was she? I only remember one episode where Maude interacted with Marge, and she was acting a bit of a dick to her then. I think it might if been that Pretzel episode if I remembered correctly.
The death that stuck with me was Abe's girlfriend Bea, whose death he missed thanks to Homer picking the worst time to insist "We're a family!", and even then just so people won't nag him to do it again. For all the abuse Abe gets and gives back, it was a gut punch seeing him so heartbroken that he genuinely disowned Homer. Oof.
"Out of the way I've got a date with an angel "
"You don't know how right you are, Abe."
I was about to comment the same thing
Why didn't Homer let Abe go to the birthday party? I mean the Simpsons could've postponed taking Abe on a family outing.
@@melissacooper8724 he thought she was fake.
@@gregwodzynski941 Ikr? Homer can be so stupid sometimes!
9:10 Ned’s delayed reaction to the death is actually a very nice touching accurate piece the writers put in. That is always something that can surprise people but an instant death can always make people be confused for a minute. In my life a lot of deaths have surprised me and along with having some autism myself I feel it is hard to process emotions immediately and therefore you don’t know how to feel instantly
When you say “some autism”
Do you mean mild autism?
Homer's mom is one of the sadder ones cause it can happen to anyone. I legitimately felt bad seeing that cause it could happen to me someday
We still miss you Mrs. K 😢
Edna Krabbel ist gestorben weil sie eine Lungen Entzündung hatte in einer Rauch verbrick
Mrs. Krabapple hurts because we lost her voice actress in real life…
Frank Grimes is basically what would happen to a person from the real word if they somehow started working with Homer.
Edna was one of my favourite characters. Her death (can't believe it's been 9 years.) Is of course much sadder because her voice actress died in RL. I really liked Edna and Ned together too.
Yeah I know I always really liked enda too and this is honestly really all of Homer's fault cause he is the one who killed her and he has always keeps pushing him around all because he ask like such aprick and a complete asshole to him and really doesn't have honestly cared about him and doesn't honestly give a shit about him
I didn’t realise the lobster was a major character
I'm still not over the whole Maud kill off. Still feels like an injustice for her character...
The Frank Grimes episode is one of the best, funniest but also darkest Simpsons episodes. I mean, the guy litterally died because Homer drove him insane. 😂😂
Always felt sorry for Grimey!
Homer didn't do shit. Grimey had a hard life and a short temper, and took it out on those around him. Homer didn't put him in that position.
@@gogglespisano24 Well he did save Homer's life from drinking acid only to then get Grimes in trouble for the damage it caused knocking it out of his hand. LOL. He stole his pensils & lunch too. Aside from his laziness too, you can see why anyone would be infuriated by him. He then disrespected his funeral to, made it perfectly clear he couldn't give two shits he died. It's an hilarious episode but definitely dark.
@@gogglespisano24 Wow! Any relation to Grimey?
@@gogglespisano24 Well, Grimes worked hard to get a somewhat okay if not fulfilling life, and that gave him pride in what he had accomplished, just to see Homer live the american dream by sheer luck and happening to land the only job where his incompetence is actually a desirable trait due to Mr. Burns blatant violations of safety regulations, which wouldn't fly with someone who actually bothered to do his job. Grimes saw Homer for what he was, a dangerous fat prick who got rewarded for being that way.
When Phil Hartman was killed, the show respectfully retired his characters. They didn’t try to supplement with a new actor, well done Simpsons.
I think Jeff Bennett could've been a fine replacement for Phil's characters
They also did when Marcia Wallace (Mrs. Krabappel's VA) died, that's why Edna died in-series.
Jeff Bennett for Tory McClure and the possible return of Lyle Lanley
Disco Stu, the guy who lived for disco that managed to outlive disco...
What about him?
Homers mom dying had me 😭
Frank Grimes death always pissed me off. Especially how tough his life was before & after he met Homer.💢
His life may have been tough, but the way he handled it up to his sudden demise wasn't good either.
I’m going to be honest, Maude’s death (even though it was in a cartoon) changed Ned’s personality forever. It was truly sad and the fact that everyone tied to help him shows how significant her death was. I don’t think through all the tv series that he ever recovered from that
Frank Grimes always has a place in my heart as it basically sums me up at most of my jobs.
Mrs. Krabappel is the character I miss the most.
Ned: Sure do miss that laugh...
Nelson: Haw-haw! ...I miss her too.
10:27 I always tear up when watching this scene. She was more than a teacher...she was a wonderful Woman who only wanted the best in life for both her and others. 😥
Bleeding gum's death hit me hard as a kid back in the day. It was because of him I have great respect for blues and jazz. To this day I still wish we could've heard the full version of him singing the national anthem. Everytime I watch his final episode I raise a glass in his honor.
It was also implied he was Dr. Hibbert's brother
@@martyschriver true. Both of them did say they had a brother and the stories meant sense.
Frank Grimes was inspired by Michael Douglas character in the movie ‘Falling Down’.
De fence!
I think it was nice of Bart to pay tribute to his teacher. Skinner would approve.
It's hard to go a single day without having a Grimes like breakdown
Troy McClure: “if you said Bleeding gums Murphy and Dr. Marvin Monroe you are wrong… they were never popular”
@Christopher Bingham 100% agree, guessing they didn’t make the list due to the characters not dying but would of been a nice honourable mention
Bleeding Gums Murphy and Mona are definitely the ones that hit hardest for me. The former because of how touching, heartfelt, and wholesome the episode is with Lisa doing all in her power to respect his memory and get the word out about him, and having such a tear-jerking moment of reunion with him from beyond as their music plays. The latter just because of how for starters my grandmother's name was also Mona, and she left us just as quickly one day when we visited her in the nursing home... I couldn't actually even finish that episode the first watchthrough when I realized she'd passed.
Bleeding Gums Murphy’s death had impacted me as a kid to this day!! 😢😢😭
Mrs. Krabappel died? Damn, it really has been a long time since I watched the show.
How did bart's teacher die what season and episode was it.
(6:23) Funny how he mentioned “the death of a pet is always rough.”
“Ruff” 😆😆😆😆
Poor Frank Grimes. He worked so hard all his life, but in the end, it was all for nothing. He tried to teach us which was better between him working hard and Homer Simpson freeloading, but we failed to listen. We all have failed to make a better society.
Snowball dying, and all the other cats Lisa attempted to adopt dying as well was really sad, she was lucky to have a new Snowball II however. Edna and Maude's deaths were also sad, along with Bleeding Gums Murphy. I never actually seen the episode of Maude's death until this clip, but I remember that Praiseland episode where Ned wanted to make something to remind him of Maude. What was also sad on that episode of Bleeding Gums Murphy's death, was that no one but Lisa shown up to his funeral.
Remember, they never live forever.
R.I.P. All of those Simpsons characters on the list, Especially Mrs. Krabappel.
I Miss Mrs Krabapple I Loved Her Chemistry with Bart Simpson back when the show aired in the 1990's
Homer's mom dying has got to be one of the saddest things ever. I know it's a cartoon but when he finally gets her back she's permanently ripped out of his life again. Poor Homie.
An honorable mention goes to Lionel Hutz/Troy McClure voiced by the late, great Phil Hartman. 😥
It was so sad to see Maude Flanders gone…
So does one of Bart's teacher.
We'll really miss you, Mrs. K.
Honestly had no idea Edna had even died, it's been a while since I watched the show
I didn't know she died until I watched this video.
@@christopherbingham5092They could've just retired her like with Phil Hartman's characters. He died and Lionel Hutz was shown a couple times in non-speaking roles later on.
@@christopherbingham5092 Would still be nice to have her around.
The Simpsons really is a great show, such sadness and happiness that can be shown in only 20 minutes. Seriously what a show, the early seasons tho will always have a place for me.
Yeah. The turning point, to me, was Season 22. Bad episodes catched up between Season 18 and 21, but Season 22 was when the decline truly began. Season 23 is what made most people ragequit the show.
I had a cat named Snowball. She died, she died.
Mom said she was sleeping. She lied, she lied.
Why oh why is my cat dead, couldn't that Chrysler have hit me instead?
The death of Homers pet lobster still gets me 😂
I haven't kept up with The Simpsons for 15+ years but I remember Frank Grimes and how much he hated Homer tho lml
You know. The Simpsons is loaded with so much dark humor involving death. However, it becomes all too real when something happened to the real life voice actor OR they retired them for good can hit a different note altogether.
Losing all of these important characters in The Simpsons makes us feel like we lost one of our relatives.
Yeah man, the death of Pinchy the lobster sure was rough. 🙄

I see what you did there.

Ned's wife: *"I died by a T-shirt gun"*
Where's Waylon Smithers Sr.? He died saving Springfield from a nuclear meltdown
I can't believe it's been 9 years since Mrs. Krabappel been killed of The Simpsons
Ya I didn’t even know, which means I haven’t watched a new episode in 9ish years
To be fair, the actress died and they didn't want to have someone else doing her voice.

I remember when Mona Leaves-a came out. It was around the time my own mother had a stroke and was declared brain dead.
I was 14 at the time. So that episode truly shook me to the core and broke me. Thankfully, they were wrong and my mother pulled through with nerve damage to her foot and we had her for a few more years after...
But I cannot watch that episode without feeling the pain Homer did first hand from that first scare.
Even though it’s just cartoon that is actually very sad because real people can relate to it so you really feel bad for the characters in the show
Who else can relate to Frank Grimes? 😔 This episode stuck to me when I was a kid, but only now I understand.
That's the reason why I retired from watching the series is because they ran out of ideas and it's very unentertaining. Also I really missed Enda Krabappel even the death of the voice actress of her.
What a tragic thing happened in the long lasting animated series.
I did not know Edna Krabappel died. There are so many episodes that it's now hard to keep track of them all.
How come Marcia Wallace was always credited as a "special guest appearance"? As Bart's teacher, she was a regular on the show.
Grimey was the funniest one! Homer's Enemy is 🤣🤣🤣
Frank grimes was the most stupidest death that could be shown on 100 ways to die even Homer knows better not to touch electrical outlets that results in death.
The part where Snowball the cat dies hits me the hardest. I lost my black cat in 2016. The only difference was that she was 17 years old and just died peacefully. It's more tragic for Lisa because her cat got hit by a car!
If it makes you feel any better that episode is barely canon, Matt Groening himself has stated it was just a joke and that snowball 2 is fine
Haven't watched the simpsons in quite a while, what a way to find out about Krs. Krabappel
I had no idea fat Tony died 😢
Well…again. It’s like Snowball.
Yes he died, but no he didn’t. 🤔💀🤕🥴
If you missed that episode. He’s still alive and well. I know it’s weird. 🫠
Totally amazing video watch mojo, fantastic job of Simpsons deaths.
I tear up everytime I think of Mona Simpson's death. She reminds me of my mom who I love very much so I hug her a little tighter when I remember those scenes with Grandma Simpson. Homer's bond with her will always pull my heartstrings
Edna was a case of "Real life writes the plot"
My favorite moment in the Simpsons was when bleeding gums Murphy was singing the national anthem 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This list is definitely twisting the definition of what a "major character" is.
You forgot:
1. Lionel Hutz
2. Troy McClure
3. Marvin Monroe
4. Lunch Lady Doris
5. Apu
While Homer is mostly hilarious at times, he does make me angry at how stupid he is. I sympathized with Frank Grimes.
Now we have Larry 😭
Mona’s passing will always hit hard 😢💔
It's sad that it's been years, but Edna's death still feels like it just happened and it still makes me kinda depressed.

These are the videos that made me love watchmojo, about death but informative
The one that hit me the hardest was Maude Flanders death. I felt awful when they showed what happened to her and I recently watched her funeral on another CZcams video and I cried. And I think Reverend Lovejoy did a really good job with the eulogy. Even though it's a character from the Simpsons- I just really never got over it. RIP Maude Flanders
To me,Frank's death was the saddest to me
Just the fact that everyone forgets him almost IMMEDIATELY is Honestly sad when you Really think about it
The most tragic death was that of the original spirit of The Simpsons somewhere around the turn of the century.
Good stuff
These are the best era of the Simpsons. The good ol 90s.
Awesome and cool! ^^
Damn I'm a casual the Simpsons fan but I've watched the episodes of all these deaths and they hit home for sure.

I'll always miss MS. Krabapple, Grimey and Lionel Hutz. I would say Maude Flanders but she's had a thing for me but hides it behind some low-key hostility.

Homer Simpson did drove Frank Grimes crazy in the past.
The saddest was Maude flanders! I wasn’t ready! 😭
Am I the only one who thinks adding Pinchy the lobster on the list is completely pointless? I mean it is both sad and funny at the same time, But it's a one-off character who will never be featured again, I mean I could say the same thing for Snowball 2 but that cat has an excuse so she slys on this one.
Poor Grimey...he could never catch a break. 🤣
