The Simpsons Characters: Good to Evil
You asked for it, and after much research
We finally pulled it off. What kind of cartoon addicts would we be if we didn’t include The Simpsons in our Good to Evil series? The show is both a classic and a part of both childhood and adulthood. Which makes sense, given it’s well-crafted humor and goofy characters would amuse anyone regardless of age. #TheSimpsons #Simpsons #GoodtoEvil

The most evil Simpsons character: Itchy. He’s a murderer who straight up kills Scratchy in gory ways hundreds of times and enjoys doing it. Literally no redeeming qualities

Agreed. I know that it's not something to get too upset over because it's such a minor part of The Simpsons, but Itchy always kills Scratchy horribly for absolutely no reason, even when Scratchy isn't trying to kill him. And he always enjoys doing it. It's just so messed up.

saying Lisa's family never supports her gift is a lie. In a earlier episode Homer had to choose between a new air conditioner or a Saxophone for Lisa. He chose the saxophone to support Lisa's high intelligence over a new air conditioner. Let's face it most of us barely getting by week by week, and not having a air conditioner, would of probably picked the air conditioner.

I agree, in earlier seasons Homer and Marge supported Lisas attributes
BUT as the series went on Marge slowly starts becoming less and less supportive in my eyes (Not wanting Lisa to be a vegetarian/Buddhist and wanted her to go to college despite Lisa not wanting to go)
Homer on the other hand is better at being a good father than Marge being a supportive mother, since Homer does occasionally takes an interest in her hobbies and spends time with her

I have to say that Edna is my favourite character in the show. She was one of few characters who actually enabled change in a show that was so eager to fall back into the status quo at the end of every episode. Her sassy, blunt, somewhat synical outward personality and her inner compassion work so well to create such an interesting and well-developed character. Her ex-husband may have led her to drink and sleep around like he did, but it's not malicious with her. She just seeks validation... And she's SO valid in my eyes. I miss her. 💔

@@Lanwarder Right and left wing politics have different values... if it had been Right wing politics I doubt that SHE (especially SHE since a womans place would be in the kitchen) would have gone so far as to abandon her family (I can't think of a right wing cause that would be more important than a woman taking care of her family with in a right wing ideological framework). Also if it had been Right wing politics she probably would have taken her punishment from the Government and been out on good behavior and back with Abe and Homer before Homer Finnished the next grade...
However to answer your question... NO it would not have been ok for Mona Simpson to abandon her family for any activism, Right or Left... She abandon her family to "Destroy" a lab that got restarted anyway, in that same episode Smithers states that they were "just catching up now" so nothing got accomplished anyway. Also doing research on Biological warfare would include researching ways to defend your own side from a Biological attack ,you can't research defensive measures without researching attack/delivery methods. Which is why all five permanent members of the UN security Council do it regardless weather these weapons are illegal or not.
As for your statement "that both Right wing and Left wing oppose biological warfare.... The implementation on the battlefield of Biological warfare yes everyone with a sence of decency is opposed to using it... Opposed to researching it? No there can be good reasons to research it.
Another thing to point out is if I remember the episode correctly there was a whole team on hippies that broke into the lab... Mona was not essential to be there, other than her own selfish desire for personal glory.
Even though Mona Simpson became an outlaw over a Bio-weapons lab, it was more than that, she could have left it a a single act of domestic terrorism/sabotage... No she chose a lifestyle of activism over her family, there is no defending it as anything less than that. A parent abandoning their child is one of the most traumatic things you can do to a child, it is pure selfishness... To do so for your own political zealotry and personal glory is nothing short of despicable. She is not a good or decent person. No it would not be acceptable if it was a Right wing cause.... I doubt it would be a Right wing cause since right wingers are more prone to abusing their children in different ways than left wingers do.

Respectfully disagree on Ralph being the "most good", but I can see an argument for him being "least evil". For the most part I don't see much of his capacity to choose or control his actions; with the exception of when he played George Washington. He just reacts with whatever learned behaviour his brain can recall. Flanders sees evil, felt and comprehended injustice, and still chooses his path of honour, caring, and love. Sure, he's faltered, but he still gets back to that path time and time again. Not to dismiss a great video, really enjoy this channel, but I can't see hollowness as being the same as good.
Edit: had no idea I've become a Flanders advocate

That's the problem with all of their character ranking videos: they conflate passive inaction with virtue. They had Kif very high up their Futurama list for essentially the same reason as Ralph here (i.e. taking a lot of punishment without really standing up for himself). The Ralph thing is even worse because you have to factor in that Ralph doesn't really know what he's doing for better or worse. Basically, these videos just have an intrinsically warped definition of "good".
And then even by their own standards, rating Ralph as literally the most moral character and then Clancy as "evil" when they're both largely crippled in their morality by being developmentally challenged makes very little sense (a grown-up Ralph would not unlikely be similar to his dad).
A lot of the "good" choices seem to be motivated either by the raters' inherently poor assessments or by political correctness. Smithers has been an accomplice to countless crimes; Apu rips everyone off and poisons them with apparently no remorse; Dr Hibbert is a bad doctor with a terrible bedside manner and seems entirely unperturbed by anyone else's issues. Apu is the one there that particularly rustles me: in most of his appearances, he's either a neutral shopkeeper or an indifferent crook.
Plus, if we're counting anything after about season 12, Lisa becomes an insufferable narcissist who seems motivated primarily by feeling superior and refuses to listen to anyone else while feeling free to lecture anyone else on pretty much any subject.
I would've switched some of the "evil" characters with "good" and changed probably a full majority of them. I'm not one of those people who gets upset when an internet list has something I don't like ranked one place above something I do. I go pretty easy on these things but this is a terrible list.

The Simpson's has shaky canon at best but the biggest issue with Homer is that crayon stuffed up his nose. They took it out that one episode and he was vastly intelligent, empathetic and kind. But that could also be written off as a one episode goof. *shrug*
EDIT: Also, Sideshow Bob isn't the most evil. He's almost entirely focused on one person, Bart. Mr. Burns will happily screw over the whole town and anyone he does business with. I'd put Mr. Burns and Fat Tony over Sideshow Bob.

I'm honestly quite on the fence about who I think is more evil between Monty Burns and Side Show Bob...
They're both just two different kinds of psychopath, it's hard to compare.
Side Show Bob is the kind of person who'll kill you because you're in his path.
Mr. Burns is the kind of person who'd sell your soul just for a lobster dinner... Oh who am I kidding he'd sell 20 souls for a krusty burger if his arteries could actually handle it...

Quite a few missed characters here, considering you are listing one-offs like Grimes and Herb (okay, he was a two-off). Police officers Lou and Eddie, Ranier Wolfcastle, Duffman, Kirk and Luanne Van Houten, Mrs Hoover, the obnoxious twins Sherri and Terri, Springfield Retirement Castle resident Jaspar, the immortal Hans Moleman, one-armed Herman Hermann, Marge's mother Jacqueline Bouvier, the sea captain, and the deceased Dr Marvin Monroe and Bleeding Gums Murphy, to name a few. But the characters analyzed were all well done. Quite a large undertaking!

Bart is grey. And Smithers has taken part in a lot of Mr Burns' antics. He can't be ranked as good! Neither can Abe! Nelson's bad, there's no question!

Cityman well...The reason Mr.Smithers does it is because Mr.Burns literally raised him and he’s also GAY for Mr.Burns. I’m not excusing him of course but I’m just pointing out why Mr.Snithers has taken a part in that

    Hank Scorpio
    McBain
    Sideshow Mel

All I have to really say about bart is he's more chaotic then he is evil, he likes to pull pranks and inconvenience people but he doesn't want to see people get seriously hurt either emotionally or physically through his actions and has only in exceptionally rare circumstances actually brought major harm to someone on purpose.

Bizarrely enough unlike many characters who start fairly good but become more evil over time Bart starts more evil (often causing humans and animals alike to collapse into a PTSD induced stupor at the mere mention of his name) and becomes more good by season 6 or so.
