  • (đŸ“č 3/16/2024) Happy Memorial Day! Here is a massive Montgomery elevator at the Pier 4 building (where the dolphin shows and jellyfish exhibits are) at the National Aquarium in Baltimore MD. It has Innovation fixtures like the majority of 1990's Montgomery elevators. This clearly feels like a freight elevator telling by the cab and how massive it is. The motor sounds nice on this and I like the bells a lot. I have no clue on the door operator on this is MAC or not, but the linkage configuration does not feel like MAC at all. There's also plenty of dispute with the capacity of this as the aquarium added signage saying this is 5500 lbs (2500 kgs) capacity while in reality, this is 9000 lbs (4080 kgs) capacity as the engraving on the bottom of the COP says. This is a childhood elevator of mine because I rode this during my fifth grade field trip to here back in 2017. On that trip, I managed to capture some cringeworthy footage of this elevator with a Nikon Coolpix W100 weather resistant camera (and yes, I still have that camera and the memory card the video was put into).

I'll never forget this elevator I took at the national aquarium in Baltimore when I was little.

Same here. My footage from 2017 is guaranteed cringe and me excessively commentating with my obnoxious high pitched voice as a child.

I think is a service elevator

There is a freight elevator somewhere in this part of the building, this is not it. I think it's funny that you can go right into the dolphin auditorium with this thing without having to pay to watch a show

That's interesting and quite funny at the same time. I honestly have no clue why they needed to make this elevator absolutely colossal.
