- What's up everyone! Today we are discussing Rocky: The Knockout Collection as well as giving our thoughts on the film series from Rocky to Rocky IV. There has been a lot of news regarding issues with this release, and it doesn't sound great. We have been slightly critical of this release since it was announced - from the art/packaging, to the lack of Rocky V & Balboa - and now with these latest issues revealed, this collection may not be the knockout anyone was hoping for.

I like rocky 3 & 4 but I have 2 say I really do like 4 best.
That blows, I was looking forward 2 buying this hopefully a better release with all the rocks comes out even a steelbook would b great as long as it's done right.
Rocky 1 is a masterpiece. Burgess Meredith killed it too with those zingers like "gonna eat lightning and crap thunder!"
I have this set. Never even noticed no audio problems and I have watched them all. I will just pick up rocky 5 and balboa separately just like what happened with the Star Trek set. Although I do admit this trend lately of releasing incomplete sets to “test the waters” does kind of suck
Glad the issues weren't deal breakers
The Rocky Knockout Collection 4K from Warner Bros. has released with several errors, making it a slightly botched release. The actual transfers by all accounts seem to be great, but several audio and one visual issue are worth noting.
Purchase at your own discretion, but thought I'd give a heads up regarding the set's errors which have been found so far.
1. Rocky I - 2.0 track is actually a stereo downmix of the 5.1, rather than the original theatrical mono, which was present on previous blu-ray releases. Pitch is also roughly 4% too low.
2. Rocky II - Both the 5.1 & 2.0 audio tracks are pitched too low, not an issue on the blu-ray release.
3. Rocky III - French, German, Italian, and Castilian Spanish dubs are pitched too low.
4. Rocky IV - At the 10:17 mark, the film incorrectly changes its aspect ratio from 1:78:1 to 1:85:1 for 7 seconds, before reverting back.
To the average person, these are fairly minor/perhaps unnoticeable flaws, but I thought I'd give a heads up anyway.
We need to keep the checks flowing for Frank Stallone. Ha! Best line ever…
I got 3 of the steels so far. Now I just need 4th and we good.
Rocky 2 may drag a bit too much but it defiantly has the best fight in the entire series, yes of course R4 is the craziest and most brutal fight but Rocky 2 is the best fight in my opinion, with him winning the belt , seems much more emotional.
Actually the Rocky 2 ending and Talia Shire not being able to film is a lie...If you look at the back of this new 4k Rocky 2 steel book you will see a picture of Rocky holding Adrian in his arms after the fight
This is a still from the alternative ending that was filmed....But I suppose they chose to use the iconic ending we have now where he says Yo Adrian I did it!
This is the type of release that hurts the physical media market. An incomplete boxset with no individual releases except for the Best Buy exclusive steelbooks. This is almost the opposite of what Warner should have done with these movies.
What is this? Do you have your own mind or are some kind of sheep? You have the four films that warrants anyone's attention, either in a boxset or individually!
@@mikeyoung5722 I think I just demonstrated that I have my own mind. As much as I enjoyed all four films, I wouldn't blame anyone for only wanting to own the first.
Hello to both, great review!
Thanks Carlos!
Prob gonna get the steelbooks top video again
I'm thinking I might just grab the Steel for IV.
Am I the only one who thinks Balboa is underrated?
All the audio stuff is exaggerated. It sounds fine.
People need to understand that's just how Paulie talks lol.
Even if it does, knowing you've got a disc that is defective sucks. Everything about it feels like an uninspired rush job and the audio is the cherry on top.
@@4K_Kings that's understandable. I don't really care, but I'd understand if others do.
Haven’t seen Rocky III? The review is voided out then.
How so? Is it the best of the bunch, or required viewing to have an opinion on the rest? I haven't seen it (Matt), but it never seemed like I was missing much. Am I wrong?
What's the current word on a later boxset with all 6 films? Also, why was it done that way?
No word on the later ones, and it's done that way to piss us off.
hey guys, can we get more Carlito's bit?
We've got more on the way. Trying to make his return special for the fans.
@@4K_Kings thank you, the fans are patiently waiting for the return of Carlito's bit
Rocky is the best in the series but I've always looooved Rocky 4 theatrical.. you can literally taste the cocaine they used from your living room 35 years later.
IV is the one I'm the most excited to revisit. I might just pick that Steel up and be done with it.
@@4K_Kings the new cut is worth checking out... It adds more character moments and makes the movie feel more familiar in tone to the others.
I might pick up the Part 4 steelbook as well since it has the best art and I watch it the most. Definitely waiting for the next box set which will absolutely happen.
This is supposed to be a movie channel and one of these guys have never seen Rocky 3?🤦🏻♂️
The Rocky franchise is easily one of the greatest ever.
At least he saw Paulie's robot multiple times.
He i paid £60 for this and now you tell me there are more movies and disc audio broken?
Unfortunately, yes.
Don't just take their word for it. It's widely reported.
You’ve never seen Rocky 3?? W T 😝
