The negativity doesn't make sense considering the majority including me uses a 100 yards as a base line for how accurate a rifle is and to sight in at. Granted knowing how a rifle does at distance is also good to know but either way I'd still be interested in centerfire rifle shooting videos.
Everyone that has ever sighted in a new scope on a long range rifle starts at 50 or 100 yds. With bolt action rifles you can look down the bore at 25 yds and crank the scope and be on paper at 100 yds. So I agree. Once we weigh and sort our cases then we still develop the rounds at 100 yds and shoot some at steel at longer range until we settle on a load. That gun really does shoot good with factory ammo. Handloads that follow bench accuracy protocol should one hole around .150".
@@fyisense9312 saying handloads should go into the tenths from a 3/4 rifle is way overdoing it.
Rifle shoots good but that’s a wild jump.
@@str3tchr All my bolt rifles shoot in the ones and twos even the bone stock .223 VTR with the right loads. Oops
not bone stock (I changed the stock and trigger) I assume you have seen people burn out .243 barrels and not ever get them to shoot. I also assume you use Quicload and techshooter's spreadsheet for barrel timing and weigh/match the water volume of every cartridge. If so you can surmise that a 223 with 25.4 grains of a certain powder and bullet will shoot ones and 24.5 will eject from an AR but shoot a 3" group. Even with Lapua, Nosler/Norma cases. Bergara is a well built gun out of the box.
Most Long Range bullets like the Berger only stabilize well past 500 yards where you can take advantage of the BC of the bullet. I also have a HMR in 300 Win Mag. I really like the 215gr Berger and H1000. But for normal hunting the 180gr Nosler Accubond and 74.0 of IMR 4831 using WLR primer in WW cases for 500 yards and under.
@fyisense to group in tenths requires a shooter with "tenths" ability and ammo to match. Most shooters overrate their abilities in both categories.
There are plenty of other channels that do long range and they are good at it. You are good at what you do as well. You do you! I’m still watching either way.
I'll watch whatever you publish. This was one of your usual excellent videos.
Due to a similar lack of ranges, I went for a B14 Rimfire - exact same rifle, but in .22lr. And I LOVE it!!
Looks like a winner right out of the box with the first box of ammo. It will be an interesting and fun journey I'm sure!
Have fun!
That was incredible Buffalo, I can't wait to see what the groups look like after you fine tune and start reloading for it!
Thanks for the review. Looking forward to the longer ranges and reloading. Excellent quality as always.
Woooooo! Look at that new winter growth you go going on buffalo 😁 Love your videos brother!
Thanks 👍 I appreciate ya man!
That’s a nice setup, Buffalo. I looked at that model but decided on RPR, same caliber.
Another informative video. Good stuff. I’m looking forward to your series on long range shooting.
Well alot of use like to see 100 yard test on rifles. If it's crap at 100 no sense trying to go out to 3 4 5 hundred yards.
Plus it's fun to take a 1000 yard gun and stack holes at 100.
In other words do what you like because you can't please everyone all the time.
Thats true be happy👍
Thanks for your videos, I enjoy watching and learning always something here. I appreciate your style in the reviews you do. Keep them coming Buffalo, greetings from Wisconsin.
Congrats on the Rifle Buffalo.Awesome and a nice setup on It to.Thanks for the video.
Nice first group. Congrats on a beautiful new rifle. Thanks for taking us along on the adventures. I would love to have a setup like yours with the ability to go 100 yards. Your friend’s range is icing on the cake.
Very nice, informative video. Also you shot a great group. Thank you for your time.
Appreciate the review, Buffalo. Thinking about getting something like this so very helpful.
Awesome group with factory ammo…,Sierra is making some pretty sweet ammo for sure! Can’t wait to see the next parts!
✌🏼😎👍🏼
Thank you for the content. Informative and well worthy of my time to watch your journey. Thank you!
Excited to see the series and excited for you to get to do some new types of shooting. I think you’ll have a blast
Looking forward to your coming series with this rifle!
Yep, here in central KY, too many rolling hills to get a long shot. Looking forward to the series. God Bless and stay safe.
another wonderful video that I have learned to expect and respect for the no hold back honesty . this I greatly desire of people. Nana and papa the hunter wishing you well.
Anxious to watch all your reports on the Bergara. Good luck
Nice group looking forward to seeing the longer stuff 👍🙂
That is one beautiful rifle setup 👍👍👍 congrats…looking forward to many reviews 😊😊😊
Awesome! I picked one up a few weeks ago in 6.5 PRC. Shot it to sight it in and I love the feel of this rifle.
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
You showed me the ins and outs of this rifle superbly. That is a nice rifle for sure. And any series you put the time in is excellent. And as you said it's hard for us Kentuckians to get longer than 100 yard shots. This is gonna be cool
Fellow Kentuckian here in Muhlenberg Co. We shoot .22LR out to 300 yards for a challenge due to lack of 1000 yard flat fields.
Great rifle, scope and caliber.Very good shooting also.Even 100 yards is farther than a lot of people realize.
That group is awesome. I look forward to the series on this rifle.
Great video - sweet rifle- looking forward to the series 👍
Your videos are honest and to the point !
Great choice for a new long range rifle. The B14 HMR has a deserved good reputation. I have a few long range rifles. I have the ability to shoot out to over 1000 yards at my local range that is just 10 minutes from my house. I live in a Colorado. We are blessed with lots of opportunity to shoot longer range here. I’ll look forward to your series on the Bergara.
Well done, thorough ,informative . Thank you
Nice rifle. Great features. Look forward to seeing you stretch it out.
Great rifle and shooting. I have the b14 in 22lr and it’s more accurate than my cz mtr and less ammo sensitive. Looking forward to the series on this rifle.
Looks like it's going to be quite the shooter1 Looking forward to your future videos taking it out to more distances. Wished my range had farther than 100yards as well.
Nice, now that’s a setup I may be able to afford too…Lookin forward to the scope review along with the rifle…Good stuff as usual…
Excellent choice on your new rifle. Looking forward to future videos that can showcase the accuracy and quality of this gun. Once you work up some handloads that this rifle really likes, you will probably find it is capable of ~1/4 moa. At 1000 yards though, you might need a higher power scope to take advantage of this rifles accuracy. Now that we're getting into cooler weather, mirage won't be so bad at those extreme ranges. Also, shooting from an elevated solid bench will produce smaller groups at longe range. There is more mirage close to the ground, not an issue at 100 yards, but is a big issue at 1000.
Glad you posted this. I just bought a HMR and going out Saturday for the first time.
You're a good shot Buffalo. Thx for posting. Thinking about this in 22-250. You've helped me on a couple purchases.
Best gun videos ever come from this man! And one heck of a shot ...
I just put this exact rifle on layaway at my LGS a few weeks ago. I can't wait to get it and try it out.
Nice rifle,, good luck with it. I look forward to more videos.
Congrats on the new rifle. Great shooting.
Excellent video as always and an excellent group you would be shooting the center out at 200yds I recently got a 6mm creedmor and it’ shot really well the first time out hoping to go again this week for another test drive with a 4x24x50 Vortex that I just got looking forward to your next video
Oh man! Nice set up. Now for the fun part! I bought a 6.5 CM a couple weeks ago myself. Just started getting things together. I'm still shooting my 308 Winchester also. 6.5 components are tough to find at times. I like it so far. I've had it to 1000 yrds with factory ammo. Just got my components together for hand loads. Can't wait to see you break 1000 yrds my friend! Enjoy that Bergara Buffalo.
thats pretty impressive !!! and its not broke in yet!! ....you are going love shooting distance !!! hopefully that scope will dial up and down correctly
Another great video. You have become my favorite gun and ammo review youtube guy. Keep up the good work.
omg , one of the best groups i have seen ! great job.
Good job Buffalo! That’s a dandy. If I was going to do a bolt gun build I would most likely go with the same style of rifle. That speckled stock has always looked really good to me. I to am not a huge believer in barrel break in either. I’ve never seen enough of a difference that wasn’t human error to make me believe in it. I look forward to the series. Stay safe!
What I've found if nothing else it seems to cause the barrel to pick up less jacket material and makes it easier to clean. As far as accuracy I only wish I was good enough to give an opinion.
Buffalo, you'll enjoy it............6.5CM is a fun cartridge for short or long shooting !!!
Been trying to decide what I want for a bolt gun for at least a year but I think this is the one thanks for the video Buffalo
Great gun. Great group. Thank you sir.
The Bergara is a great rifle and company, we can't do long range shooting here in Jersey because our house's and businesses are only 20ft apart. That's why I love my Henry's and Ruger American rifle's, but for longer range's I have travel a long way. But I like anything you do, so no complaint's here. Have a great day my 2A friend! Sincerely Ruger Rich
Hey Rich what part of jersey are you in.. I'm also in Jersey
Damn, only 20ft? Think about all the money you're saving on ammo when all you really need is a slingshot and a handful of rocks!
@@thomashaley5284 slingshot's are either not a loud or regulated here. But yes that's about all you'd need.
@@richardcolligon4277 Jersey is so regulated that you can't even buy a BB or pellet gun without a fid card and sling shots are illegal and you need a fid card for paint ball and air soft guns too. the laws in this state suck they might as well take away our 2nd amendment rights
@@johnwheehler7623 yeah you gotta love socialism at it's finest!
Just bought the same rifle today thanks for the video
I like your choice in modern target rifles. One problem some critics need to understand is having a safe 1,000 yard range is a near impossible place to find. In most parts of the Country 600 yard ranges are just as rare. When you start shooting at these ranges you can spend lots of money for equipment and ammo; not to mention the time factor and travel to these ranges. Making a long range shooting video would take weeks to do properly. Wind and weather can make it nearly impossible to do. I enjoy your videos on the subjects you choose and thank you for making everyone.✨🐃✨🤠
Always good content Buffalo!
Very nice indeed for a straight factory rifle . Many more. expensive custom guns could do no better. Excellent choice and excellent shooting .
Thanks for being you, Buffalo.
Beautiful rifle! Congratulations!
Nice review, I love myBergara rifles!
Fantastic Video Buffalo Brother! Always wanted to shoot long range. This Video has given me the itch. Maybe there will be something Santa has on the list for me. Even if it's a scope, that will work. Great looking rifle and very nice Shooting Skill You Have. Thanks again have another beautiful day when You go to your friends place to shoot long distance.
You did a good job man i watch a lot of long range channels don’t pay attention to the hate and good shooting as well
love mine had it for 3 years dead accurate and never fails
Great overview of,the rifle..good shooting👏👏
Very good group & nice rifle. Thought it was a Howa at first glance. Bergara makes a lot of very accurate barrels. Have fun one this one cause she is accurate. 👍
I've got this in 6.5. Excellent rifle. Great action.
Great group.
Very nice rifle. Looking forward to the long range shooting videos.
Nice rifle, Buffalo! You could cover that group with the 1" dot easily. Good shooting. I look forward to seeing more of this rifle.
Thanks!
I have LH 6.5. My friend helped me set it up with Vortex scope. I really like it.
Good video buddy! Great shooting! You can’t get much better than that! I just bought the Wilderness HMR version. I can’t wait to get it out and shoot it. I have the same problem as you do when it comes to long range shooting. There’s just no place close by.
The five holes speak for themselves! Nice group Buffalo buddy!
Anxious to see the long range shots.
I gave one of these away last year to my Grandniece on her 18th birthday, it was in 6.5 PRC.
I hope it's a good rifle, I never had a chance to shoot it.
I've got an early production model in 6.5 Creedmoor and it's a beast. I couldn't be happier. 20 minute base and a Surefire Procomp brake. I'm looking for a better optic. I just have an extra SWFA super sniper 10x42 on it.
Awesome 😎😊👍
Actually seeing it the first shots, sold on Vergara Barrels !!!
Not to mention their proven history but to see it they still have it good for you Bergara👍
This may be the best review of any product I have ever seen! Thanks Buffalo
Wow, thanks! I appreciate that.
You have been bitten! The line range bug is very contagious so I foresee mrs buffalo getting a similar setup pretty soon! I actually enjoy reloading ammo for long range as much as I like shooting it. Keep up the awesome videos and ignore the sally's. They cant shoot anyway!!!
I have a B-14 BMP chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor mounted with a Vortex Viper HS LR Scope , it is a beautiful rifle with how it operates and the scope too
Loved this, brother!
Awesome video! I love all your other stuff too so . I guess it's your content
Tau tipped me to your channel. I just got a b14 hmr in 308. My first bolt action, I've yet to take it to the range, soon though.
H4350, Hornady 140 ELD, my favorite cartridge ! Thanks Buffalo!!
Great review. Very nice for the price.
I love my HMR in 308 so much i recently also got the b14r 22lr and it is now my FAVORITE gun that I own. I just got my DM targets KYL target yesterday and me and one of my nieces put that thing to its paces today. My god it was so fun and she is hooked. Today was her first time shooting ever. Wish I had somewhere to shoot out to 1000yards.
I keep looking at the b14r every time I go to my local shop. No one seems to buy it. That might end up in my safe. I love my HMR.
Make sure u remove the rear sling stud so the stock slides smoothly on the rear bag during recoil. Great group with factory ammo!
Brother, it’s all good as long as you are pulling the trigger and working to get better. Don’t pay no mind to trolls who question 100 yard shots. If you consistently shoot 1 moa at 100 yards, that’s half the width of most large mammals torsos at 1000 yards. You are well within the zone and gold. Like your content. Keep up the good work. I will like and subscribe.
That is a sweet shooter! Great shooting on your part as well!
Good rifle for the money and as it uses an action based on the Remmy 700 any stock, barrel or rail for the 700 will fit right on the Bergara. There were some dud barrels on new ones a while back which had bores which weren’t concentric to the barrel and lots were returned as when barrels warmed up the accuracy went South. I think they’re on top of this now.
I tried one when looking for my first 308 and thought it had a smooth bolt action and a lovely trigger pull. Ended up spending a little more for a T3.
You’ll really enjoy longer range. Trigger technique and natural aim position really matter when you go out longer distances. Glass matters too as you need a scope which has both quality optics and reliable turrets for repeatable dialling. You guys in the States are lucky as you can still get the “poor man’s PM II” the Bushnell Tactical Elite…they are to scopes what the Bergara are to rifles... quality on a budget.
You also may decide on reloading as home loads can be more precisely tuned to your rifle plus you might not always be able to get the ammo your rifkl likes. Re-loading is one rabbit hole you don’t want to go down unless prepared to take on another addictive money and time pit hobby 😂😂😂. It ‘s almost as much fun as the shooting itself but recommended because it teaches you lots about internal and external ballistics. You pay attention to the detail when you start and it rewards you for doing so.
Best of luck from the UK buddy, hope you enjoy it👍
Excellent 5 shot group.
I'm sure we all understand that thing about the limitations imposed by the range. Though, a stray bullet, even shot from rimfire weapon (anything of the .22 family) can be lethal within a perimeter of 1000 yards.
Beautiful rifle! What I like especially about it: it's ergonomics and the overall (real eye-catching!) design.
I have the same rifle with an Arken 6X24. 20 moa base as well. I now have all the parts and ammunition supplies. We have a 600 yard range available. I shot there using my 16" barrel .308 . My best group was with IMI 150 grain fmj! A five shot group with some bull's eyes using a six power scope! I will also cook up some loads for my M48 Yugo and open sight AR -15 20" barrel. Shooting from the bench now but decades of coyote hunting in Montana was my start for long range.
Congratulations on 100k subs!!!
I found one of these tonight on line but it's chambers in 7mm mag. So I appreciate your review even if it was a 6.5. Creekmore.
Love the rifle Buffalo!
Enjoy that rifle Buffalo! You have a winner, don't change anything. Don't shoot at unreasonable ranges, what is the true value? Enjoy that fine shooter at a realistic range of 100 yards. You are my favorite gun channel, please continue as you are currently.
Very nice gun and shooting! Take care.
That is a very nice set up you've got there Buffalo, I like it. I can't understand why there is negativity on the distance you're shooting, as someone else said below - not everyone has access to beyond 100 yards and your 100 yard group and zero (and velocity) should give you some idea of how it'll run at distance. A 3/4" group on a new barrel with factory ammo says this will be a pretty good shooter. Can't wait to see more of this rifle Sir.
I bought one of these rifles and collect it tomorrow. Ordered it with an Athlon 6-24x50 scope and can't wait to get it to the range.
As soon as I saw Bergara B14 my mind automatically translated it to QUALITY! You definitely bought the rifle at the right time. You can add several hundred dollars to the price now.
Good luck with your progress into your long range journey. You definitely have the equipment to do it. 👍🇺🇸
