“Cutting a covenant” refers to the ancient practice of making a pact. The agreement was written on paper and then the contract was cut in half, for both parts
also there were sometimes animals involved (I've heard) where half of the animal was on one side of a path and the other on the other and the parties would walk through the middle. I rather prefer the paper one though :)
To be fair, He never established that covenant with הגויים, but exclusively Israel. And a premil Christian would not see that being eradicated but potentiated with Jeremiah’s ברית הדשה.
How would you handle Ephesians 2 which discusses how the goyim (Greek Ethnoi - think "ethnics") *WERE* apart from the dietheikei (covenants) ... but now have been brought into the commonwealth of Israel?
