What I find most gratifying about Messi, specially this version of Messi is that everything he does makes perfect sense. I was watching clips from Neymar from the same season in Barca. And he's incredibly skilled... in some aspects he's even more talented than Messi. He has more flare, is more unpredictable, more flexible, dynamic. It's like magic, like the ball somehow follows him. But then I watched this clip and I remembered why Messi is the best: he's milimetric, accurate, reliable, like a clock. His runs make perfect logical sense. Like he's playing himself at a playstation game. Makes the right decisions, doesn't waste time nor space. He does some tricks but it's always with a purpose, like when he uses his backheel, or his soil, or moves the ball from feet to feet or lifts the ball a little to elude a tackle, or does some minimal body feint or stepover: it usually was the only way to get out of that situation, any other action wouldn't have made sense. Most players, even very skilled players use these gimmicks in an isolated way. But Messi integrates these moves into his play seamlessly, like you don't even notice and get used to it. He has like 4 or 5 trademark moves that always work. The way he nutmegs, it's always the same movement with the outside of his foot. It's crazy how reliable his nutmegging is, probably no one has achieved that level of consistency. Watching him is a masterclass, like watching how things are supposed to be.
Yep exactly. To the untrained eye, just watching football for entertaining purposes, someone might be more impressed by players like neymar. Neymar focuses more on flair etc. Sometimes he dribbles more than he should. I know this cuz i am a big fan of neymar. But Messi only does dribbling only when he should, never more never less. And everyhting he does is the best for the overall team. Messi is the manifestation of football. If you create a supercomputer that only makes right choices it would create messi basically. Plus one thing you forgot to mention is that messi is a LOT more lethal than neymar in front of the net. He is the same guy who scored 91 goals in a year when he was used as a center forward.
Also if you want to see exactly what i mean about messi being all about effectiveness etc, go watch gis highlights and more specifically his goals from the 2012-13 season to be exact. In this EXACT season, messi looked like he was not even trying at all, he wasnt super fast, and he gained some weight compared to his last year, yet he still scored 60 goals in only 50 games. What is impressive about this season is how non-challant (i hope i wrote this correctly lol) messi was. It looked like he was not even trying much to score yet he hit the net 60 times and some goals were pinpoint accurate on the top corner or by going past the keeper.
If you don't get butterflies in your stomach when you watch this freak of nature in full flow you really don't get the beautiful game he's simply that good best player ever.

Nikhil Amin ronaldo also has a good vision and technique... He just dont get assists because of his teammate benzema... We all know benzemas shooting accuracy some times.....
