No. J.k did. Wait?!
J.K.R. : Hedwig’s death marks the end of Harry’s innocence.
Harry: Casts expelliarmus to the freaking Dark Lord.
😂😂😂😂
Harry : I'm gonna use that disarming charm that all second years can on Voldemort. DEAL WITH IT !
It’s an effective disarming spell that could literally render even the Dark Lord almost defenceless if it actually landed so I’d say it’s a valid tactic.
@@GoldenMushroom64 So they could arrest him? 😂
Good beats evil.
A loss of innocence doesn't necessarily mean a loss of...not being a murderer(???)
Love how this just turns into an “everything wrong with Hedwig” video for a few minutes.
Tbh he doesnt really give proof that snape actually killer hedwig
@@goldenhd9656 - Indeed, the sinning of Hedwig was, IMHO, more interesting that the theory itself, that could have been explained in one sentence: Snape killed it because it could be a clue to where Harry is. (even if every one of the Harrys had a copy of Edwige in a cage, so...)
I'm not sure what to think about it, Avada Kedavra sounds a bit overkill for a small animal like that.
But why not?
@ULGROTHA That would work.......if it wasn't Hagrid that gave him the owl. Can we reasonably assume he wouldn't know the difference?
The better solution would be "Hedwig is a failed animagus."
Hedwig was his first present that he was able to remember getting.

“Once dressed, the fake Harry’s took rucksacks and owl cages, each containing a stuffed snowy owl, from the second sack”
Stacey Shepherd the comment I had been looking for 🤦🏽♂️
If we are talking about the books. I think that (If it WAS snape), then he saw hedwig moving and making noises and realized "Shes gonna give him away!" Because i think even flying you would eventually notice that owls not moving. Then see the one that is, and "THAT'S HIM!" So snape killed her, still in the cage, so she could look like a stuffed fake like the rest and not give him away.
If you notice no other owl was flying

One burning question that I am dying to see a good theory for is: What is the deal with Aberforth's fixation with goats?
Same as Harry's fixation with girls.
@ULGROTHA Not directly, but it's been mentioned once or twice. Yeah, he had some...adventures...with his goats.
I mean, to be fair we just know he did "something" with some goats that reeeeeally freaked people out.
Maybe he liked goats because goats have bezoar (stone-like mass taken from the stomach of a goat) and bezoar are a great poison antidote. Or maybe he just liked goats 🤔
It's been stated that Aberforth's favourite story was "Grumble the Grubby Goat".
No, Hedwig was not his first present. Remember Sirius, his present when Harry was 1?
But the first one he remembers
The Dursley’s had also given Harry a coat hanger and a pair of socks for a birthday present. These may not seem like“good” presents but they are presents
@@ScarletShade13 You don't have to remember a gift for it to still be a gift lol I would say his first gift upon entering/re-entering the magical world.
The first genuine gift given to him after at least 9 to 10 years of abuse and neglect makes Hedwig the first present of worth to him
@@SultanFilm no that would be the cake given by hagrid on his birthday to be his first gift then
In the book, all of the fake Potters had toy snowy owls placed into a fake cage to help throw off the Death Eaters
I love how J just pops up with facts, and bothers Ben, it’s such a sibling thing to do
It's really funny.
"Why do they even bother addressing the letter so specifically?!"
The only answer I can come up with is because Minerva McGonagall is the queen of passive-aggressiveness and is not above exploiting her station as 'letter writer' for Hogwarts to maintain this. Also it would freak out Vernon Dursley. Win-win.
New headcanon
I speculate that it depends on the person and the relationship to the owl. Sirius has actually met Hedwig, so Hedwig can find him. The owls sent from Hogwarts to Harry have never met Harry before.
@@PhilBagels I tought the same
@@PhilBagels but Harry didn't only send Hedwig to Sirius. In the books Sirius tells him at sime point to not send Hedwig because she attracts too much attention. Harry then sends postal owls to Sirius. Have the postal owls also all met him before?
@@annakilifa331 If I remember correctly, when Harry was sending school owls to Sirius, he already knew exactly where Sirius was hiding. So he could just could have told the owl where to go (probably wouldn't have written it on the letter so but seriously, do we believe that owls can actually read?)

@Neil Mehta *dramatic gasp* SOMEONE ON THE INTERNET DOESN'T KNOW SOMETHING? SHAME!
And... he failed.
Didn't the other "Potters" have stuffed snowy owls in cages, though? Or am I remembering that wrong?
Edit: I was right - Chapter 4, The Seven Potters: "Once dressed, the fake Harrys took rucksacks and owl cages, each containing a stuffed snowy owl, from the second sack." However, just before Hedwig is killed, her cage slips from between Harry's legs; Harry quickly catches it, yelling "No - HEDWIG!" as he does so. This yell, implying that he cares about the bird in the cage (i.e. it's a real bird, not stuffed like the others), is what gave him away to - according to this theory - Snape.
Yes they did
But hedwig was the only one that moved so he must have noticed that
Sophie T only hearing Harry was possible it’s dark and chaotic I doubt the death eaters would have seen anything
Amane Kabbaj yeah but at least one would’ve been focused on the real Harry to see him freak out over Hedwig
But yeah, idk, I’ll just agree to whatever’s explained the best lol (this video - exhibit a)
Nice catch
Exactly! They were all in cages too. Mad-eye was very smart; he never would’ve made the mistake of sending off only the real Harry with a rare snowy owl.
Ben: Snowy owls don't eat bacon
Snowy owls are mute
Snowy owls have a large wingspan
Snowy owls aren't native to Britain
Me: What is Hedwig is a magic owl?
I always just assumed she was.
😂
Wizards can travel to other countries if they want and bring back owls for sale in Britain. Just like muggles can bring animals from anywhere they want for display in zoos. So - 1. Not native to Britain - not a problem.
Snowy owls don't eat bacon IN THE WILD. But if you have one in captivity, and you offer it bacon, I'll bet you cash that the owl will eat it! So - 2. Don't eat bacon - not a problem.
Large wingspan. So what? Does it say in the books anywhere what her wingspan was?
So mute. Well... magic?
@@PhilBagels Thank you! I was going to say. All these things could be explained. 🤣
In the wild snowy owls are mostly mute, expect during mating season, defending territory, and when attacking other small animals. So they can make noise, and they actually have a lot of noises that they can make. I always assumed that Hedwig making a lot of noise was do to the fact that she was domesticated and probably born into captivity. Lots of animals make more sound in captivity then in the wild. Take, for example, a feral cat v. a house cat. Feral cats are mostly silent, only making sounds during mating time and for territorial reasons, where as house cats have sounds for all ranges of emotions and times of day. As for eating bacon, I just chalk that up to bad ownership more then anything. I mean dogs don't eat mashed potatoes or ice cream in the wild, but there are dog owners who feed their dogs those foods.
Snape also had to be seen participating in the battle. A well aimed spell taking out an owl but looking like it was meant for Harry would help Snape appear to be on Voldemort's side. 2 birds 1 stone (protecting Harry from being recognized and looking like he was fighting. )
I feel like anytime something happens for plot reasons its either 'Dumbledore planned it' or 'Snape'
Title: Snape killed Hedwig?!
Actual Video: Why Hedwig doesnt make sense
Great video btw, laughed A LOT!!!
why do seven Harry's when you could just disguise Harry as some other character that wasn't there at all? logic, people.
Because why would a bunch of wizards be at Harry's home of 17 years when Harry wasn't there? Logic.
@wolfgirl 56 Ok, that makes more sense. I was thinking along the lines of if there was nobody that looked like Harry, then being at his house didn't work. Lol
Someone could have aparated with Harry to another location then disguise him
Actually 7 Harry’s was actually pretty smart. What I don’t get is why they didn’t do that then disguise Harry as someone else and he and another Order member take the Knight bus.
@@gamesmastertobi29 your plan makes sense except that the knight bus would probably be controlled by voldemort or not running.

I really want to know that to. Ever since they bought it up in a video I’ve wanted the answer.
Magical train??😅 no seriously I have no idea but would love to know
I'd think the Hogwarts Express. They own the train, so they might as well use it.
I know it'd be difficult because they have to travel across the sea to get to either Beauxbatons or Durmstrang, but they're wizards, they could figure out a way to get the train there.
@@armadillolover99 not really, because there's already a train connection between the UK and the European mainland (France in this case), via a tunnel under the sea. The Hogwarts Express could use that tunnel as well. It's probably not a good idea to use a steam train in a long tunnel, but it's possible.
I can actually imagine Snape thinking...

@Your boy geno 2000, Snape was definitely not a good person, but in the end he did die loyal to Dumbledore and did all of this in order to protect Harry.
It's a rubbish fan theory. If you've read the books, you'll know that Snape was fighting somewhere else. He did the Sectumsempra Curse on George.

Actually, Hewig wasn’t Harry’s first birthday present. He got a toy broomstick from Sirius for his first birthday (and probably other presents) and the Dursleys DID give him presents, just horrible ones.
Hedwig was not Harry’s first ever birthday gift. On his first birthday he got a miniature broomstick.
Actually his first present was a birthday cake from hagrid and then Hedwig then the cloak then the broom.
Rose Miller - I think you’re confused. I meant when he was a baby. For his first birthday, Harry received a miniature broomstick. Harry read a letter from his mother that he found in Grimauld Place thanking Sirius for the gift.
@@hollyhartwick3832 I'm sorry about that I was referring to the movies, not both movies and books. I am really sorry for this miss understanding. it's time for me to go open the books back up and reread them.
Rose Miller - No worries. I knew straight off where the confusion came from. He got a broom twice as a gift while at school and that reference in the letter is obscure enough to easily forget. That’s actually why I commented on it in the first place. The same oversight was made in the video. BTW, how ironic Harry got a broom from Sirius twice. First the miniature, then the Firebolt.

The saddest deaths were Hedwig and Dobby
That's not an unpopular opinion, just fact.
It IS an unpopular opinion... You have Snape (he he), Sirius, Fred...
Hedwig, you have like 10 seconds of "No, no!". Dobby's death was tragic though. But not the only one.
OctavKitty ok I’ll admit Sirius and Fred were really sad but I never liked snape so his death wasn’t really sad to me
Its not! They are! (Plus fred)
Saddest deaths were Lupin and Tonks. They could finally be together, they had a son, it's all ready for their happy ending... but then they did and their son is an orphan.
10:04 im willing to bet your going to say snape did it to SAVE harry as lets face it been the only one with Harrys owl is kind of a massive sign saying this is the real one.
From: “Snape killed Dumbledore!”
To: “Snape killed Hedwig!”
I laughed for a minute straight at the "non-magical warts" 🤣🤣🤣
I love that they start the actual theory with only two minutes left.
It wasn't Snape chasing Harry, but other Death Eaters. Snape was following George and Remus
he was following them for quite some time because his Sectumsempra curse was aimed at the Death Eater, but he missed and got George instead - this is what caused George to lose an ear. everybody was missing their curses direction as the brooms were very fast.
What I find hard to understand is why (in the film), when Hedwig is murdered all Harry does is say, "no, no." But, when Dobby dies Harry is inconsolable, for about the length of time it takes to bury him. I just didn't understand that.
Since when does J know so much about snowy owls😜
I just need to point out that the other had stuffed Hedwigs in cages as well
Knew I remembered that! Glad it wasnt just me!
In the books. In the movie they didn't, and since Snape cursed off George's ear, we already know he wasn't around Hedwig when she died in the book, so I think this is a movie only theory.
NeoEvincar when did we find out Snape cursed off George’s ear
@@doomforzombies the chapter when Harry gets Snape's memories, it tells us that Snape was aiming for a death eater that was going to curse Lupin/George but hit George in the ear.

I never understood why Harry didn’t just send her off on her own ahead of time instead of taking her in a cage when he was 100% expecting to be attacked. It’s why I feel like her movie death was better- it makes more sense for her to have come back to protect Harry than for a bird- who can fly- to be transported in a cage.
Agreed. I really doubt Harry would have accepted having her be caught in the line of fire. He's already seen her being injured by Umbridge.
Look, let me explain... I was protecting him! It would have been a giveaway on who Harry was!

Shape killing her to help Harry blend into the other Harry’s is obvious.... now u pointed it out..... lol
All these years?
Always... always still learning
Shape?
I always thought Harry named her Hedwig because she had her _head_ under her _wing_
Head+wing=Headwing= Hedwig
Just read the book, to paraphrase: 'and harry looked through his history of magic book until he found a likely name.'
kindlin I've known harry potter existed a little while before I read the books, and when I did, the book would every so often say that Hedwig had her head under her wing, and I thought, ”oh! That must be how Hedwig got her name!” but when I read about the book, it just gave me a new perspective to look at and think about over time.
Did anybody realize hedwig practically save Harry’s life? Like that killing curse was straight at his face...
That was in the movie, in the books he was in a cage.
