Can we just admire the fact that while his last mission may have been ambushed, he outsmarted Voldemort by predicting who he would attack first, not many people have outsmarted Voldemort.
I wouldn't necessarily say he outsmarted Voldemort, but made an educated guess that they would assume Moody had the real Harry.
And in the end, Moody did die.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Death Eaters also suspect Harry would be with Hagrid?

We can speculate that Voldemort would murder Moody in a straight up fight, even without the disadvantage of his co-worker abandoning him.
Moody was an old man, and the year he spent imprisoned in his own trunk made him considerably weaker.

Fact I thought of:
You guys remember in Order of the Phoenix when Molly asked Mad Eye to make sure that it was a boggart in the drawing room, and not something super dangerous.
We all know boggarts take the shape of what scares the person before it. When Moody saw it, there was no one in the drawing room. It was alone, in its true form. Mad Eye was the only person ever to see a boggart in its true form. I wonder what it looks like
I like to think that Moody was able to see it’s true form not because of the magic eye, but because after years of fighting against Dark Wizards he had nothing else to fear despite having PTSD.
It’s sounds just like him.
Poor guy, suffered from PTSD but nobody offered therapy. He was one of my favorite characters but he’s so underrated and has a pretty sad life.
The worst fact is that people mocked him for it. Mocked him for having PTSD, for god sakes. They questioned Dumbledore for hiring him, they chalked up any of his suspicions to him being mad and never believed him, the name most know him by IS LITERALLY HALF REFERRING TO THE PTSD. Not to mention everyone saying things like “he considers the morning wasted if he hasn’t discovered 6 plots to murder him” and “he can’t tell the difference between a handshake and attempted murder” LISTEN, IF THAT’S THE CASE, WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS OFFERED HIM HELP, he definitely needed it. It’s cruel, just cruel how they could treat a disorder like this.
Anyway, he’s probably my favourite character in HP, very underrated

@@maxinne4805. You see when moddy was in the box he didn't have his magic eye. And because it was magic it couldn't be enchanted to fallow Jr's orders. So when ever it was moving it was really moddy still in control of it, inside of the box.

Our uncle (by blood) and male first cousin, on our dad’s side, were both strawberry-blond (last I checked).

@Adrian Berry he fought Dolohov in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in the book, Dolohov won by doing a really good strike on Mad-Eye so his magical eye span out of it's position and landed on the floor, it also made Mad-Eye bleed.

It's sad just how scarred and disturbed Moody is. You really get an idea of just how deep it goes when he describes his old Order friends to Harry and can only think to talk about how they were killed or injured. Fighting and getting hurt is all he can think about. His mind is just as scared as his body.
Just like war veterans, that as result of their services and fighting in the front, ended suffering cases of mental traumas and PTSD.
And people's reaction to it was mocking him for his paranoia.
Just imagine like an assassins creed/shadow of mordor game where mad eye hunts down dark wizards and stuff, I think it sounds kinda cool.

I also think the magical eye couldnt see through the cloak, but mad-eye and crouch could, because mad-eye was an auror, and showed pictures of the dead members of the order, so almost definitely saw death.. im also pretty sure barty crouch jr saw his mother die

I always loved Moody, cool guy, boss. Alastor Moody was one of the best wizards of Harry Potter. Especially as he is like a war veteran, with impressive skills, knownledge and experience as result of his job.
And just like the war veterans, Alastor ended disfigured after his service, physically and mentally, as Alastor showed clear signs of PTSD, much like the conditions that the soldiers suffers after the wars.

The whole Death Eater ambush in HP7 could've been easily avoided simply by transporting Harry by car. Voldemort would've never guessed they'd do that, he'd see that as "inferior" to use muggle technology.

Oh my god, I’m going to cry so so much later in the series 😭. I’ve watched all the films before and read all of the books (though I don’t think I read the last one, but it was about 5-6 years ago I read the books, meaning I was like 8/9 years old. I watched all of the films about 3/4 years ago, but again not the last one, I found it too sad. But now, I am rewatching all of the films, and rereading all of the books. I’ve watched the first hp films 25+ times in the past 2 weeks and the second film only about 7 times. I haven’t watched the other films yet, and I am currently reading the first hp book. I’m thoroughly studying the films though, hence forth needing to watch them over and over as to not miss anything. And the books, I shall read each one 2-3 times, the first just reading it, the others making pointmarks for notes. But I will do it one book at a time, and go back through the whole series once I’ve wrote everything I need to. I’m writing every characters first and last lines at the beginning and end of the film series, and shall write a ‘fact file’ on every character I can from the book. My friends have told me I’m obsessed with Harry Potter.... yes. Yes I am.

Alastor is a definite representation of a ptsd war veteran. His character hits home with me because I’m army guard and my uncle is a ptsd stricken Afghanistan veteran and he is on medication and has a service dog. Alastor Moody is definitely a well deserved character of rememberance.

Moody was always one of my favorite characters, such an interesting and lovable character. Thank you so much for making this video! Moody was the first death I cried to when reading (Sirius almost got me though) and I was so mad they didn't go more in to depth in the movies.

I loved mad eye moody but I feel like if he hadn’t died when he had, he would have died in the battle at hogwarts at the very end which would have made me even more sad 😞 I wish they had done more for him before and after he died
