- Hi everyone! We knew we really wanted to do an Isla Mujeres excursion, and felt booking through the hotel was the most secure way to do this. We could see Isla Mujeres on the horizon from our hotel room and it was fantastic to finally see it in person!

This holiday reminds me a lot of when we went to the Dominican republic. The all inclusive is great in a new country, but then its also so nice to get out and see something of the place. Looked absolutely stunning on those beaches.
Totally agree Michelle. As much as we loved our resort, it was amazing to get out and see some other things. We also visited Chichen Itza and swam in a cenote on the holiday and that was just incredible 😍
100% agree about the crocs Steph. I said I would never wear them, but tried the once and haven’t looked back! So comfy 😂

Another great vlog. The exclusion looked great value for money. The one I did let us snorkel whilst anchored on the beach and we had the same boat all day.

I loved this video! I just got my first passport yesterday and can't wait to travel to Cancun for one of my best friend's weddings. I want to do a day trip here when we are there. My favorite part was when you said being on the island made you feel like you were in another country. I absolutely know what you mean and can't wait to experience it!

So much has changed, we did the same boat trip, but after the barby on the beach, we all wemt on the buggys around the island, amd didnt get to see the side you did. Which looked amazing. Obviously no brits when we went last year(covid + boris!) so our boat was very drunk americans (one wobbled of the buggy!) so we also found saftey in those back seats. 😂 Would definitely love to go back amd see it differently. This looks like a lovely tour. The lunch looked great! I think it’s so much easier and worth the money for a nice guided tour the first time you visit a place. Do it yourself is cheaper but you may miss some things and can be stressful. This tour looked well worth it, and I would probably always choose a great tour over do it yourself even on repeat visits! I do appreciate you pointing out info for both the tour and potential do it yourself.

Hi Kris. We've never actually stayed at Cabana Bay. We had trips booked there twice but sadly both were cancelled due to the pandemic. Everyone that we know that have been there all love it though and it is definitely on our list for the future.
When I travelled or cruised I always booked direct with cruise or hotel.I believe it is safer and they get you back to ship or hotel no worries.
I always enjoy your videos.

Great vid. I only stay on Isla now. I was the same. I went over on a day trip and fell in love. I will only stay on Isla now. Sooo many options. What I remember the most after being there years and years ago was the hundreds of people waiting on the dock for our huge boat to come in so they could try and sell us something. I would hear them say "Mr. Mustache, Mr. Mustache" to me to get my attention, lol. Then they would follow all of us tourists around town and wouldn't take no for an answer. I realize that they were just trying to survive but that was a bit much. But the boat trip was nice with super calm and beautifull aqua colored water.
Luckily we didn't experience any hard sell . People asked us to visit their shops but they were always polite and not pushy. I wouldn't have enjoyed what you mentioned on your visit though

Hi guys,the island looked amazing but for me it wouldn't be enough time,an hour at the first place then 2 hours at the other so for me it was to rushed but you preferred that and it's your holiday so all good,look forward to see whatelse you get up to,cheers and have a great weekend whatever you do👍
It's a fair point Mark and we would have loved to have spent a longer on the Island but it was also nice to sit on the catermaran with a beer or soft drink seeing the sights too and there was snorkeling for those braver than us 👍👍👍
We went to the Rivera mayo. We went to cozemel on our own. That was a nice place to visit.
Would love to see more of the region in the future Elaine. We definitely want to go back and try another area and resort 😊

What a wonderful day!! I must admit that I would have gotten seasick on the catamaran (I easily get seasick/dizzy.); so thank you for sharing that! I got to vicariously enjoy this part of the trip with you! I loved the island visit though saying you had an hour on one side of the island and then two hours on the other side sounded too short? I can't remember if I missed you saying it, but how long was the catamaran ride to the island and then back to the resort? Really a great video and will probably rewatch it with my husband later! Hi Barbara, we probably spent two hours or so in total on the catamaran which was good fun in itself as we were well looked after by the team. We would 100% like to spend more time on that Island in the future and it would be amazing to spend a few nights there too. Have a wonderful weekend and take care ❤️
What a fabulous day, seemed it would be better if all day to me. Seasickness is weird. On a smaller boat I’m fine but on a ferry get queasy

Wow! Looked gorgeous, reminded me of when I went to Cuba a bit. Now then Crocs….I don’t know what’s going on but some of the girls in my office have gone mad for them all of a sudden. A couple of them have a collection of different colours. I’ve never wanted them before but I feel like I’m being brainwashed into getting some they seem to be everywhere 😂

Hi, on the Island some shops had prices in USD and others in Pesos but you could pay with either. We took a mixture of the two which worker well and we changed our money a couple of weeks before we travelled and used a holiday money comparison site to get the best exchange rate 👍

Try cozamal island a short ferry ride from cancun you can hire the golf buggy’s to get around
Well done for not buying the ring as its lab made not mined locally as you were likely told! We stayed in Playa Del Carmen beginning of June and came across the 'suckers gem' and thankfully didn't buy it. The island looks really nice, wish we would have visited now.

you snorkel normally but check the boating reports first. if it says small craft advisory stay away from the water as that means heavy waves and not good conditions for much. i saw medium waves which is ok just watch yourself that's all. you could always buy a sub drone and use that in place of jumping in yourself. they usually aren't that bad price wise just around like 300 US or cheaper which is actually kinda cheap compared to a flying drone. there's nothing about them in any law either. just the flying drone has regulations but not sub drones. also how you faring in that heatwave, in florida its been 90s (30 something C) all week but we are used to it thanks to daily storms.

Hi Gina. We flew back on the 17th June with TUI Nordic. The flight was great to be fair and so much better than our outbound one with Hi Fly 👍👍👍

It was a normal TUI service (UK cabin crew) and they had premium economy seating. There was on board entertainment- not the biggest selection but it did the job 😊

That wasn't a docking fee. That ferry costs 14 pp when you go by yourself. PH took 300 of your money for a little food and a snorkel.
They could have at least paid your catamaran ticket with that.
Luckily they took 300 and we had a really enjoyable day.

To be fair, the rep who sold us the tour did tell us about the extra fee. We just wanted the peace of mind that an organised trip offers. We would happily visit the Island on the ferry in future now that we are comfortable with what is what.
Can’t believe how commercial Mexico has become traveled all round the coast 35 years ago lived little beach hut the islands roamed the ruins no government fees how things changed don’t think there is any place world that’s not money money commercial ah well it’s a new world 😵💫😵💫😵💫
