them putting a plastic water bottle into a reusable cup fills me with sorrow
The main thing that bugs me most about these trends is the constant over consumption. look at the amount of waste that goes on. Nobody needs more than one of those cups, yet people have shelves of them, and then the use of bottled water, where they use two *plastic* bottles, just to pour it into the cup. *Does that not completely defeat the point of the reusable cup* ?!. Finally the tiny plastic sachets for each flavour serving, it’s not even like the powders are in little tubs where you could scoop them out, it’s just soooo wasteful, all that plastic for one drink.WHYYY
It takes years of my life when I see all the waste.

If you shouldn't take more than 6 ibuprofen a day, drinking extra water with the additional ones you take above that does nothing.
The percentage of unhealthy stuff vs water isn't necessarily relevant if they consume more than they should in sheer amount.
Also the reason why Americans call this juice is because the powder that you add to water was marketed as "Juice Packets"
I mean a juice is `the liquid that comes from fruit or vegetables`. And a lot of these powders contain citric acid, a liquid that can come from a lemon. So, your honor, it's not false advertising.
Never knew that. I always known them as "flavor packets"
Ig we'd call it squash?
Yeah but this is more of a non alcohol cocktail
The thing is in the usa, thats "juice" (flavored water with sugar), if you think youre getting real fruit in your juice you gotta pay for the fancy one, and their excuse is that i think theres 0g of sugar but of course theres still other shit
"Sorry, that looks like it took down the Titanic"💀

Robinsons squash is gonna blow Americans mind
cam's one-liners are unmatched
As a brit i feel like i need to clear something up, we would only consider juice to be the thing that comes out of squeezed fruit directly. We have squash (or cordial) that we mix 1:4 parts water, but we dont consider it juice, we just call it squash, and dont add anything else. And we dont have all the artifical colourings and flavours that the US has so the colour of some of these drinks is alarming 😅
Also usually squash is just concentrated fruit juice with some stuff added to make it shelf stable.
In Scotland it isn’t unusual for people to refer to carbonated beverages such as coke as “juice”.
@@epb45 that's interesting, i hadnt heard that before
Depending on the area some call it juice and cordial (such as me)

As an American by birth- British by location I can explain a few things you're seeing & righly so, confused as these things are not available in the UK.
First: the bubble gum "medicine taste" he said refers to a children's liquid antibiotic by prescription called Amoxicillian. I can not attest to the mans "water"; however, he's spot on as a child in the US, chilled liquid, Amoxicillion, I recall absolutely tastes like bubblegum.
Second, the spinning kitchen divider they are using is commonly called a Lazy Susan. These were majorly popular in the '70's. Some were kept permanently on a family's informal dining room table or brought out during a meal.
The house my family & I lived in whilst in the States had one installed in a tall cubard with 3 different shelves that spun 360°. My mom kept cooking spices, & certainly not any processed packets of whatever these people are obviously trying to play off 'flavoured' water, imo, it's just a mixed bag of anything for views syndrome! is it actually like a stitch? I thought he was thinking of when you get a belly ache from consuming something really sweet and mistakenly called it a stitch
I think George has said he's allergic to oranges before so it may be something to do with that?
@scarletsjazz6472 I think he meant it in the same vein as when you're running and the pain in your side is so tight it's called a "stitch", but yeah he's talking about stomach pain
@@Faith01841 wow that’s weird then. it must be an allergy thing
10:08 it’s artificial squash
isn't all squash artificial? otherwise it'd be a cordial
@@glebglub Not really, no. They are effectively the same thing and there is no "official" definition of what makes a squash different to a cordial. In the UK at least, cordial tends to be used to try and imply a drink is more classy/grown up.
I live in a former British colony and we have squash here. It's only 30% fruit juice and full of sugar. I can't stand it. Too sweet. The only thing it's good for is making rum punch.
love that you and cam are making vids together lately
Ok, so, as an American living in the south, I feel the need to explain a bit.
“Sonic” is a drive-in restaurant. Like, full on, pull into a stall and they will deliver the food to your car, sometimes the carhops (workers) will be on roller skates. So, those Sonic powders are actually based on the slushes, or Icee, served at the Sonic Drive-Ins.
The powders themselves, are usually labeled as juice powders in-stores. (Especially since certain ones can be used to make things like Kool-Aid.) So, sure, adding a little bit of flavor to water would be fine by most Americans’ standards. But the fact that these people are mixing the flavor powders and adding the syrups is what’s absolutely bonkers.
It would be like drinking a Frankenstein-concocted melted snowcone at this point. Like??? Ew??? These people are basically asking for their teeth to rot.

Cherry limeade is a traditional soda fountain drink that’s over 100 years old. Ideally you get one at a traditional soda fountain shop, they’re delicious. They’re also usually a soda, at least in my area, meaning carbonated. These watertok goobers are just drinking flat soda drinks and pretending they’re healthier than Billy Bob with his 7-11 Big Gulp and they’re probably actually worse.
Kurtis made a pretty good video on this stuff as well, would defo reccomend
another banger george, as always only about 8-9 months late to this trend 👍
omg I remember him from like 10 years ago?? when slime was really popular! he had a slime channel and shop! he looks so different! this was a blast from the past fr!
fwiw - a cherry limeade from sonic (the actual fast food restaurant) is just sprite with maraschino cherries & flavoring (i.e. the syrup they're packed in) and lime wedges & juice. they released these flavor packets in a couple of flavors mostly for the marketing opportunity, since a big draw of the restaurant is that they have a pretty extensive drink menu with several ways to customize whatever you get. the drink packets take it from being water to flavored water, which is definitely considered its own thing to most normal people. the flavor combo of cherry and lime works really well together when you're not doing the grown-up version of making potions in the bath! watertok is just another example of tiktok algorithm-based consumerism. thanks for coming to my america lesson.
"IS THIS WHERE AMERICANS THINK JUICE COMES FROM!!??" no? but these are typically fruit flavored powders so it's easiest to describe as juice lmao
Cordial?
Hence why it makes little sense. The "English" word (it's french) juice specifically refers to the liquid of a fruit/vegetable.
It's like calling a caramel a "fruit" because it has an apple taste.
Squash?
So just cordial really…just kool aid innit
literally your drinking koolaid not juice, its Cordial

As a Brit with American friends (They moved here), They couldn't defend this. I say again. THEY were just as disgusted as we are.
1:20 had me creasing 😂
George not knowing juice powder is a thing is quite funny. You dissolve them in water and get juice, fruit juice flavors commonly. It's very common here in Southeast Asia. Just because something isn't a thing in Europe, doesn't mean it's just American weirdness. Calling it "water" might be American though.
They're pretty uncommon in England (idk about the rest of UK), I remember seeing kool aid in the foreign foods Isle once but that's the extent of my exposure. I just don't think they'd work in the UK market haha because we're so used to/expectant of "juice" being concentrate fruit juices (squash) or the drinks made from that. Or like pressed fruit juices with the chunks in or strained out - like orange juice w & w/o chunks
I hope this explains why the awareness of the powder product is low!
And that's without saying anything about the average brit's lack of cultural awareness... not tryna start anything, I'm just saying lol
Yeaahh I'm Hungarian + English and when i get told juice I immediately think of actual squeezed fruit juice, never something from a packet
That’s fucking disgusting… It’s literally not even juice, it’s just water with chemicals. Juice comes from fruits, like orange juice or apple juice, and then they add things to it like sugars, preservatives and (unfortunately) artificial sweeteners. I have no idea how people can drink knock-off juice. If you don’t want to buy juices for whatever reason, buy fruits and juice them yourself.
Juice is from fruit, squash is the chemically liquid that you dilute, powder is flavouring powder. They aren’t the same
uh oh.. I put these zero sugar packets into my water. I have severe OCD and sometimes I equate clear water to dog slobber. My doctor said they're of no harm. I should probably go to therapy more than twice a week.
i think you’re good as long as what you’re using is sugar-free. also make sure it’s not a diuretic (like caffeine) so you’re not inadvertently dehydrating yourself.
i have used sparkling water and drink packets like this to make my own homemade soda and it’s pretty good! they are really sweet though so 1 packet would make a few drinks worth for me.
sonic is a drive in restaurant we have and ocean water is just blue coconut flavor mixed with sprite i think! where i’m from everyone used to go to sonic after school to get a drink cos they would have 1/2 price drinks from 2-4pm! pretty tasty when i was younger, but as an adult i can’t drink soda much anymore!
