    Thank you for the review! I purchased a Honda Rebel 300 with ABS yesterday at a local dealer. The 2021 models have LED lights and a choice between blue or black. I felt lucky to be able to get one--ours is blue. The plan is for my 18 year old daughter who just passed her MSF class, and 57 year old me, who used to ride 30 years ago, to share the motorcycle. We did the MSF class together. It was fun riding again after 28 years off a motorcycle. The Rebel fits her. She is 5'4". It feels a bit small for me at 6 feet tall. I used to ride a 1982 Magna--similar Honda styling, but much heavier and faster. Still, all decisions are compromises. I will drive it home today. I'll buy her safety gear--riding boots, riding gloves, jacket and helmet. She will be riding it most. For me, I will likely stick with jeans, work boots, work gloves and a jacket I already own. I'll get myself a new full face helmet, though. Should be fun.

      Hey there! You are welcome, and congrats on the new Rebel 300! Your daughter will love it. It is such a spirited bike. I liked it a lot. It is a great bike to sharpen one's riding skills and it is super fun as well. Thank you so much for dropping a comment and let me know how it goes. Be well, be safe.

      Oh, the 500 version is a beauty! I never got a chance to ride it, but I would love to do so.

      @@ReluctantBikerNYC How dare you call it silly. I do it everytime I get a lonely stretch and give it the beans. 😄

    I came for the review, but I stayed for the vocabulary at around 1:17. 🧐

    I bought a 2018 Rebel 300. My first motorcycle. It was great to learn on. (I had ZERO experience) But the single cylinder engine felt like it was going to vibrate apart at high rpm's. REAL bad. It felt like I was riding a power sander, or one of those paint mixers you see at the hardware store. If you're going to ride the bike in suburban/urban places for short periods, it's fine, if you're going to ride aggressively and on highways or country roads, this is not the bike for you. My hands and butt were numb within just a few minutes. Also the seat hurt. It felt like I was sitting on a 2x4. Between the vibrations and the seat, it had to go. I didn't mind the low horsepower at all.

      Thanks for your feedback, JD. Yes, you are right: the seat did seem as if it needed a bit more padding for long rides. I guess the Rebel 500 might be better for highway riding, or even better, the newly launched Rebel 1100 :).

    The placement of horn and indicators is standard on all their new bikes and sucks

    " Never felt the need to shift past 3rd gear on local roads" ... Do you mean 25mph roads? I guess that'd make sense. But my local roads are 35-45.. Would be screaming in 3rd lol.

    • @ReluctantBikerNYC
      @ReluctantBikerNYC  Před 3 lety

      Yes, I was referring to 25mph roads. I agree. I ride a TU250X and the 3rd is definitely not a smooth gear, but the ride on the Rebel, if I recall it correctly, was a bit smoother in the 3rd. Definitely a bit more mellow.

    Seems to me Americans have to pay for ABS whereas the rest of us get it as standard

    Again every other country gets the dual seat

      Agreed. Based on my readings, it seems that Europe gets the best of everything: the best bikes, the best packagings, even the best scooters.

      Hi Billy. Yes, you're right, the bike has a liquid cooled, fuel injected engine.
