Just watched the movie. I felt this more of a tv special than a film. Jeff Kennett stated that more of his books would be adapted into animated films. I personally believe this could have been an animated series instead of short films.

@@ronaldocoelho8719 I know I watched it since I was a kid and it was still good as it added a few new scenes. While for the animated one it mainly took it from the whole book.

I'm saying that in this movie Greg seems like a nice guy and not toxic.
In the orignial movie the friendship felt real.
Honestly, I think it would've been better if the whole movie was traditionally animated like in the original movies.

They didn't, Rowley does mention the play but they didn't really go into winter, only after Halloween.

I love this book at school I read it if I can at the library I try to find one available but they are so amazing everyone wants them. 8 hope I get all of the books for Christmas, that would be amazing. I wonder what channel the movie will be on, hopefully Netflix or Disney+

Nah, the live-action films are way better. The series is of the realistic genre; the only reason the characters look like aliens is that Greg draws them that way. This new film doesn't capture that and is just like any other cartoon.

But really, movies need more of a well-cut plot. Besides, a borderline sociopath would be a bit more disturbing on a motion picture, so I like how they used Adaptational Nice Guy on him in the films.

It's just me who found the animation choice a little bit strange?
I get that they are trying to make something similar to Greg's drawings, but idk it's weird.
I think it would be better of they used 2D animation or if they made a 3D version that looks more like a human.
It's really strange. The drawing in his diaries were literally just his art style. But this film assumes it's the entire art style of the outer world around him.

Plus it's a movie about Greg's Diary, it makes sense for the movie to be in his art style as its still being told from his perspective.
