I had the EXACT same experience as Travolta. Summer of '73, getting a Pepsi after football practice at the 7-11. Went to the cashier and right next to me were a few albums for sale and I do a double take and go, who is this beautiful girl??? OMG, she is gorgeous! I look at the name and think, so this is Olivia Newton-John! I liked her cover of IF NOT FOR YOU a few years earlier but never knew what she looked like. From that point on I was in love with Olivia Newton-John. What a lovely person she is.

Olivia has always been an idol of mine, it is so sad she has cancer again and God knows how much longer her family and the world will have her for. I have believed from the moment I watched Grease that there is something between her and John, just watching how they are together, they have been friends for years, but I do think that while filming Grease they were attracted to each other
I really believe that they loved each other (looks like an on and off secret relationship) but couldn't be together and get married. Aside from the timing wasn't right (it's in her book), they have different religious beliefs. So they just decided to end up as best friends, supportive in good and bad times, and marry people who remind them of each other.
This can be the reason why she likes her song I Honestly Love You more now (and John said he could only wish that song was for him)

If it wasn 't for the voice, i would not know who she is. Not aged naturally. A shame to let naturally beauty fade this way.

She's aged totally naturally if you've followed her throughout the years and she looks great and utterly like herself! She does look noticeably frailer here, but that's because her cancer was back--at Stage 4.

Cobra SS Yes, I think wearing heels would put too much pressure on her back. She seemed perky enough at the Grease do and has her autobiography coming out next month. However, she recently cancelled a couple of live shows where she was going to talk about it, so I’m not sure what’s going on..
BOBBY1976100 I'm concerned after losing Aretha Franklin. You can count on 2 hands how many true legends that are left standing. Olivia is listed as the 6th top selling female artists and 20th selling artists of all time in billboard magazine. That's an amazing job considering she peaked late 80s. Isn't it time for a new album?
Cobra SS It is, but with her health being as it is I don’t know if it’s a priority. Sadly, I haven’t liked many of her recordings over the last few years. I hated Liv On! Not a fan of the ‘healing’ and Christmas albums that she seems to focus on now.
BOBBY1976100 I can agree that her music directions after The Rumour with the exception of the 4 stellar tracks on Back to Basics have disappointed me as well. Not a fan of her healing and Christmas CDs also. She hasn't been the same Olivia after the first battle with cancer. Unfortunately her music selections has suffered for us Pop Olivia fans.
Honestly as an adult, sandy and Danny are a terrible example of a relationship and no one should ever change themselves for someone else but as long as you recognize that you can still enjoy “you’re the one that I want”
Danny liked Sandy even before she changed herself (Sandy 2 as Olivia calls her). Sandys friends wanted her to dress up if you watched the part after the car race.
Classic I know that I’m saying Sandy shouldn’t have changed herself for him just to fit in with the girls that were mean to her and Danny shouldn’t have tried to become a jock for her. I mean it’s typical high school stuff so I’m not angry about it and yes Sandy walking in her leather was badass but no one should ever change who they are for a guy who pretty much treated her like crap.
Lina J.Walker first of all he treated her like crap because he didn’t want the guys to think he was ditching them for a girl, second of all he apologized and told her he didn’t mean it, and third of all btw they both changed there look, they did for for each other because they didn’t want to lose each other, and she didn’t want to lose him. If she didn’t love him she wouldn’t have changed, she was ok with it she didn’t care. And btw she didn’t change to fit in with the girls, she did to fit in with him, and he changed to fit in with her, because they loved each other
