I didn't know the uterus kinda sticks out into the vagina like that. I mean, I felt it before, I thought it was something wrong. Dang, why do so many things misrepresent how it actually looks?
If you find a drawn diagram online, you will see that the actual part that sticks out into the vagina is the cervix. I presume they just made the uterus and cervix the same object in this, for practical purposes.
@@moonclawdragon4276 But it's the cervix that is at the internal path into the vagina, the uterus itself does not lapse into the vagina. The uterus and cervix are 2 different parts of the anatomy. The only time the uterus lapses into the vagina is when a female has developed a prolapsed uterus (which can be caused by the pelvic muscles being extremely over-stretched during childbirth) and requires surgery to fix.

I use a reuasble silicone disc..not a cup...the disc sits in my cervix area. Behind the public bone so I don't feel it inside. It eases cramps and I only have to change it 2x a day. I am a heavy bleeder with a loooong cycle 10 fats each month. The disc has changed my life drastically
That looks very messy. What if you dropped it in a public toilet. It seems dirty and inconvenient to me. You don't have to worry about cleaning a tampon if it falls in a toilet, as its replaced with a fresh hygienic one.
I am a young girl who will mist likely get her first period soon and my 50 yo mom has no idea what a menstrual cup is. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LEARN THIS STUFF!!!
Internet is a pretty good place for that lol my mom just gave me a pack of pads and showed how to use those. Had to figure out tampons and eventually the cup by myself. After your period starts its important to just learn how heavy your flow is and what would make you comfortable. Obviously pads and tampons are a good and accessible start. I recommend period panties since they're reusable and don't feel like you have a diaper on all day lol. And of course a cup or a disk are a bit harder to learn, but really reliable and better for the inviorment and your wallet!
I learned it all on my own using internet sources aimed at girls between 10-14. Be careful to only use sources aimed at your age group! My mom only taught me to use a pad and nothing further. She probably doesn't know what a cup is either. I think it's not that unusual for moms to not teach you more than the basics.
If you don't want to use tampons or a cup, I'd recommend period panties. They're just panties with some extra lining (I was able to find some at the period section). Depending on the brand and style of panties they can hold quite a lot, tho I'd still recommend using a tampon or a small cup with them, tho if your flow is really light you might not need anything else.

The disc can’t get stuck at all! Your cervix is like a cul de sac so nothing can get stuck. The feeling that it’s not there is how you’re supposed to feel! And even if it was hard to remove that’s probably because you have a high cervix and worst case you’d just go to your GYNO and she’d take it out for you!❤

Here’s my story for anyone interested. I’m 16 and I have a very low cervix. I’m thinking about trying a disc but what do y’all think? Any advice?
I tried the disc when I had stage 3-4 prolapse at 15. my cervix was mostly outside my body, and it was the only thing I could get to work with my condition. it might work for someone with a low cervix as well! after surgery to fix my uterus, I can no longer use it, ironically. but that's cause I can feel everything down there now.
