Moving to Wyoming tomorrow. Just outside of Yellowstone. I’m so excited for less traffic, lower taxes, and beautiful snows! But also very nervous. Your videos have been very helpful and I think you do an incredible job making them!
Just don’t come here and vote for the same things for the same reason you left where you are leaving.
@@kevinmartin2096 not only do I agree, but have been saying the same to others that move this way!
Thank you so much!
Funny. We are moving to Cody this summer. She and other have been helpful in our decision.
The biggest positive is the low taxes and the less government intrusion into your lives!
Thank you so much for watching! Many people love those perks.
These challenges are more like motivations. 😊😊😊
lol Thanks for watching!
Wide open places, people who knows what you like to eat and not traffic between places you need to go sounds perfect to me and I need to tell you Alisha that you drawing me to fall in love of The Great Wyoming.
Alisha, great video, but the harsh winters and wind has real advantages as well. I live in a harsh winter area, even though we have not had enough winter for sometime in the Great Smoky Mountains. The fact remains, and medically speaking harsh winters kill viruses and bacteria that may form in the lungs, the cold air from winter kills these off from low temperatures. Have you ever noticed people in cold states had less problems from Covid 19? The less population with fewer crowds keeps people from getting sick because of lowered exposure around others. I've done farming most of my life, and owned several ranches and farms: I don't mind people either, but I don't want to see too many people myself. I always loved the outdoors, my wife and I are always asked if we're retired: why do we do so much outside when it's cold outside? We both love the outdoors, gardening, flowers, cows, fishing, walking, and life is too short to stay inside. So, cold weather, and windy conditions also have upsides too.👍💯🙏❤🐄👏👏👏
Thank you so much for watching and helping me to look at the bright side of harsh winters!
Thank you for sharing this video with us and when I'm about ready to retire I will be getting in contact with you. Until then take care and stay safe.
Thank you so much for watching! I can't wait to hear from you!
Just moved to Riverton and love it!!!
Lander is my hometown!
Thanks for all your videos…can’t wait to escape to your area.. someday
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it!
Alisha another good video. My wife and I met in Cheyenne in 1974. We left in 1995 due to employment transfers. Now at 70 years of age we are packing up and selling our home in Mississippi and heading back to what I have always considered my real home. Boy I know about the winds and the horizontal snow. At the same time I want some drier air, sunshine and being able to see for miles. Cheyenne seems more expensive than Casper but I still know Cheyenne and on my few visits I am still able to navigate the city easily. But boy has the town grown and housing prices are going to be a challenge. I will find a nice place I am sure but maybe not in the country where I lived before.
Let ,me know what I can do to help you!
Hello. I am retiring in a couple of years and considering Casper Wyoming. I love the small town idea. I would be looking for something small as it is just me. Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful
Thank you! Let me know when you visit - if you do before you decide where to live. I will show you around.
@@alishacollinsrealestate thank you
I’m from the deep cheap south. I’ve thought about moving to Wyoming many times but the cost of living is basically double compared to where I currently live. I could never afford it alone but can live quite well here. I guess that’s the price to pay for isolation and scenery.
I'm guessed you live in Mississippi?
I'm huge into hiking and camping and have always wanted to retire in Western Wyoming but now that I've revisited the idea, the prices are way out of reach. Casper definitely looks better but will I be happy with the hiking and camping opportunities around the Casper area?
I believe you will be! The other great thing is that Casper is central, this always you to travel all over the state on day or weekend trips! And Wyoming truly has some of the best hiking and camping the country has to offer.
I'll be moving there in a week . . . . but down the road in Cheyenne.
Welcome! Thanks for watching!
Looking to move here, but I'm seeing a lot of housing developments and areas where the houses are very close together in your videos. Any opportunities near Casper where your neighbors are a little further away? Would prefer not to be able to see my neighbors house lol
We definitely have homes that are not so close together but still very close to the center of town.
Do your rulers allow tiny homes?
How does healthcare quality and the number of hospitals in the more populous counties compare with states like MN, NJ, NY?
I hope this question is in place. How do I get started in Wyoming? We live thousands of miles away in TN. Many of the properties we see need wells. How did you come about your property?
Are you saying the properties here need wells or the ones in TN do? If you are looking at buying vacant land you will more than likely have to have a well installed or haul water to the property. Not sure if i answered your question.
@@alishacollinsrealestate Thank you, yes you answered my question. I love Wyoming. Just very expensive…
mostly interested in Casper for where to buy groceries , where the best veterinarian is (for companion animals ) , dog groomer , hospital and home improvement stores and a reputable car repair shop - I never heard of people being unfriendly in Wyoming but then I've lived in Minnesota for 30+ years where they say to bring your own friends when you move to Minnesota (They also tax the very air you breathe). ....- Do people absolutely need central air conditioning in their homes during the summer or is the altitude sufficient to off set the absolute need for A/C? ( in Minnesota you have to hit the ground running just before the ground thaws in May to do all your lawn/garden prep work and clean up from winter and really keep at it for the entire month of June as soon as July hits it's horrible humid and hot - - not like Missouri but still the pits - If I don't state a preference for a specific town , my husband will find someplace that's equal to being the hermit up on a mountain away from everything convenient
This would be a great video. I have lots of suggestions as i have lived in Casper for over 22 years. there are a few veterinarian i will list as well as all the others! Yes we do need central air in Wyoming! It is not typically humid here. Thanks you for watching!
Thank you for the reply - I did know it was arid there but just wondered how critical the A/C was😀
Alisha Collins for Mayor!
Ha Ha . . . I don't think so. But you never know!

Biking in the towns is unsafe and terrible, but biking in the nature is beautiful

So no crowded freeways and trails like in Colorado? Well Yellowstone gets backed up but that’s more of a national/international thing.
Very rarely is there even any traffic! Yellowstone is busier in the summer.
I have heard from other posters on other Wyoming videos that the locals don't like outsiders and try to discourage people from moving there. What have you noticed? It would be hard to move there only to find your not welcome. I lived in Montana for 10 + years so I could handle weather and so on.
I think that can happen everywhere. I have worked with many people that have moved here and everyone says they feel welcome by others!
@@alishacollinsrealestate Thank you! That is encouraging. I'm applying for jobs. Hopefully I get hired then I will have an idea of where in Wyoming to move 😊
@@zerozer0z in my stupid opinion I don't think people start to get unwelcomed until lots of people move in and try to change things. The last thing most residents in small town Wyoming want to hear is how their town is all backwards and doing it all wrong. If someone moves in and accepts the way of life and blends in effortlessly to a small community generally they get excepted very quickly. I grew up in a town of less than a thousand people in it, I saw all types move in and out. That's just my .02 cheers!👍
@@jakef1977 You speak the truth! Look at what has happened in Colorado, where the L-words from the LEFT coast have taken over the Front Range, and RUINED the entire state.
Or what the outsiders ARE doing to Texas. WE do NOT want them!
The only negative I can think of about Wyoming is that I’m not there yet!
I ride bike
Honey, please stop trying to get people to move to Wyoming. Do you really want Casper to be just like Bosie or Salt Lake. Ruined totally Ruined. 😞😞
I've thought about moving to Casper, but what you just mentioned has also crossed my mind a lot. Are TOO MANY people going to want to take up living there?
I would be just fine with the way it is now.
