Olympic Runner Allyson Felix Answers Track Questions From Twitter | Tech Support | WIRED - Zábava
Felix should become a commentator. I can listen to her all day
It would be amazing to have her and Sanya Richards-Ross together in the booth
Lol she’s still competing for us so no commentating until after the olympics lol
Exactly, she has a great voice
Facts
Yeah. TV.
She's the Bolt of the women's world but hardly anyone outside athletics has heard of her. Insane really.
I think many fans would not say she is the Bolt of Women's sprinting - that title goes to Shelly-Ann Fraser Price but she is definitely a stand out athelte as she is one of the few who run both 200 and 400. FP and Bolt both excell(ed) in 100 and 200 but neither ran 400m
@@LucyLive91 I was thinking more in terms of Gold medals won. Very few track sprinters win that many golds. Hence we remember Carl Lewis, Bolt, and obviously Flo Jo who won numerous at the same Olympics. That's the rarity.
But I take your point. FP is incredible.
No she's not. Shelly Ann Fraser is
Probably because she had no individual world records or even American records. Also she doesn’t run 100m and that is the most popular event
@@LucyLive91
Girl Price is Price!!!!!! Why tf y’all trying to put a males name on her is strange
She’s so humble it’s refreshing to see someone who’s accomplished more than most people could ever imagine still be so modest.
@T Free well, don’t speak down on a runner, she does her best, and if she races and goes about being a track athlete with her best ability, you will see how talented she is!
6 gold medals and "i'm not there yet, i'm still working on it"
@T Free she’s the most decorated track athlete ever and you’re asking what did she accomplish? She talked about breaking world records and you’re asking WHAT SHE ACOMPLISHED?!!!!!
@T Free LMAO you’re definition of accomplishment is very myopic. Olympic gold medals aren’t everything. What about all her world championships where she competes agains all the same runners just at a different meet. If you’re definition of success is so particular for this obviously incredible accomplished athlete, then I can only imagine the tremendous amount of failure and misery you’ve encountered in your life.
@@cassiereis9572 he’s just mad cuz he will never be as good as her . Even if he tried
She’s gorgeous. Not just her face but the energy she has comes through the screen.
She’s what an international female role model would be like.
Let the haters hate cause they ain't her 🙄
TFree So much positivity in your comments. You got a lot of time on your hands.
@T Free idk I think she's quite pretty.
The more she talks, the prettier she gets.
She seems like she has a really nice personality.
We all knew that.
@ThatOne It's not "good vibes" when she competes. Look at her face and her eyes most notably, they are fierce like a hawk... After the race she is very personable and likeable.
@ThatOne She turns that competitive hat off very quickly. You do realize that many folks just cannot "switch in and out" of high performance mode? Thus they might appear more aggressive or cocky to you. I guarantee you that while she's running she feels as or more cocky than any of the other ladies she runs against, sh just simply does not display it. Different personality types.
@@dennisrobinson8008 well put. Before and during races you see the killer instinct in her eyes. Immediately after the race she’s back to humble and nothing but class
@@Oklahomie95 she is a classy person
Allyson definitely has a future in sports media. It’s effortless for her. Simply brilliant. The way she explains every detail makes it seem like anyone can run these events. This woman is an absolute legend.
Get a grip.
*she's a runner, she a trackstar*
She gon' run away when it gets hard
She cant take the pain she cant get scarred🇯🇲
She hurts anyone that gets involved
Don't wanna commit, why take it this far? (Oh, why?)
@@kadijahmcintosh1055 she gon do the race just not this one
I'm just here to appreciate the GOAT that is Allyson Felix
You misspelled shelly ann fraser pryce
@@afrobuddy4801 lol she did
@@afrobuddy4801 get a life she said what she said...AGREED!!
@@georgeevans3058 Love Felix and Ashford but SAFP is the absolute GOAT. Period. Stop playing.

She is definitely the Beyonce of women's track and field. I do hope she gets a career as a sports commentator with a national presence. She is great at this.
I would say Beyonce is the Allyson Felix of singing
Beyonce is the Allyson of entertainment.
@@franekkrol1389 Ehh Beyoncé came into the music scene long before Allyson became famous in the track world so no.
@Gummy
it’s a joke..
Refused to back down to _Nike._ Good for her. *Such an elegant runner. One of the ones that just seem to glide over the track!*
@T Free clearly! That’s why she leveled up on ‘em!!! Super Proud 🙏🏾
@T Free Nike doesn’t treat track and field athletes right they don’t care about them as much as the bigger usa sports no big track star really signs w Nike
@T Free money obviously wasn’t her motive. She is literally building her own empire with Athleta and her shoe company. Who else knows what she has in store. You just keep up since you are so invested 😒
@T Free well I do see you are a lot more supportive and a bigger fan than I am since you commented OH SO many times on this video discrediting her. She won bronze so she didn’t lose anything. You should get lost though. You fake af!!!!
@T Free did we watch the same race ? Medalling is now losing ? Bronze in the Olympics is a loss ? I just feel like you’re playing a stupid game, so you might win a stupid prize, definitely not a Bronze Olympic prize though. But whatever.
Most elegant runner I've ever seen! Her running style and technique is just so asthetically pleasing.
Cause you think she's fine
@@dennisrobinson8008 what
@@serenitybeats1677 Everyone upgrades her because they think she's so fine, including myself. I was making a joke. She's a real FURY on the track when she's on point, and such a relatable and mature person to talk to off of the track.
I prefer Flo-Jo but she's up there!
@@rmmm8666 You need to do the research on your flo-jo, she was on the juice. Go on CZcams and check it out= Victor Conte on f.joyner, then come back with your BS.
She gets younger every Olympic cycle. What a woman 😻
@T Free you’re so miserable and bitter, go get a life
Allyson: I don’t think track is under rated, it is under broadcasted. If one follows sports, one would know who Allyson Felix is and she has accomplished, just like one would know who Serena is. You are admired and respected for your amazing career and you are loved as a person and role model.
True, Rafael, but so few people to to meets now. In the 60s in the summer in the central valley of California, thermometer reaching 100 and above, fans would fill those stadiums. Now, if you have the money, you can get a great seat because no one else seems to be interested. I mean, look at the stands for these Olympics! Almost empty.
@@ShunyamNiketana Andrew: no fans or family were allowed during these Olympics because Tokyo is in state of emergency due to COVID.
@@ShunyamNiketana that was cause of covid which sucks
She speaks so well. Love her class.
Allyson Felix is one of my favorite Olympians. I’m so glad that she explained how relay teams are chosen and the mechanics of how the relay event actually works.
Elaine Thompson is my favorite
There is a lot more details than Allyson gave. It is a very complex discussion.
As a former runner she made me miss the track environment. This is spot on. I miss my old track buddies, too
Oh, you are so cute, "I miss my buddies" what does the W stand for? Let me take a shot in the dark.....is it winnie?, NO? how about WIMP??????? Hey! someone out there Drop Kick this fool.
She needs to do newscasting for sports, she's really good at public speaking
I agree
I love everything about this elite athlete.
Such a beautiful and humble soul. I hope she does well in her final Olympics.

Allyson Felix is truly one of the GOATs! She doesn’t get the attention or respect she deserves.
She's not one of the best GOATs, She IS the GOAT.🥰
@@pugita1232 Shelly ann is the GOAT

The most decorated female US runner of all-time. Allyson Felix is the G.O.A.T
She is just so chill and so articulate. Love her. Hope she wins a relay gold this year.
The Jamaican probably gonna win
@@leroyvermilion7708 In the 4x100, but US could take the 4x400 and do so.
I am so glad she mentioned her world record setting relay team as the Destiny's Child of track. I have missed seeing early 2010s women prime sprinters racing each other such as Carmelita Jeter, Tianna Madison, Kelly-Ann Baptiste, Shelly Ann, Veronica Campbell, and so on.
This is a good concept and I'm enjoying the entertainment.
Allyson Felix is one of best doesn’t get enough attention
I became track & field fan when I ran in HS. Watching a good 400m runner is something else. Watch runners kick & turn on the jets for last 100m or 200m is wild.
400m & 200m & 800m are still my favorite races to watch.
@T Free if she's not good, how come she keeps consistently getting into world- and olympic-gold medal winning relay teams?
@@couplestherapy300 🤣🤣🤣 @TFree needs to delete all of their comments. You’re making a whole fool of yourself all over this video. Just stop
I first saw her when she was an 18 year old kid. She has always been a class act. Love this young lady. Articulate, Beautiful, yet a killer competitor. ps, she will be a really great asset to any network when her career ends. Beautiful voice.
I am a Norwegian. Allyson has been my favorite female sprinter for a long time. If you wonder why, just look at her and listen to her. What a lovely woman!
@T Free What?
@T Free I am Black and she is well spoken & beautiful learn to recognize real, she aint ghetto you know the difference
@T Free i dont think they meant it in that way.
@T Free omg people like you are irritating. How did you come to that conclusion? Did we read the same comment!? That had nothing to do with race. It’s her racing talent too. Sheesh. Stop inserting r@ce where it doesn’t need to be inserted. 😳🙄
"Pumagutten" love your name 😂
I don’t think distance runners and sprinters dislike each other… but they just don’t have that much in common. Except for some crossover in the 400/800 the training is totally different and the body types of elite sprinters and distance runners look very different
Yeah I'm on the track team at my high school. The only time sprinters and distance runners are together at practice is during warm-ups and occasionally on temp runs
Yes. I rarely saw our distance runners in high school. They stayed running around the area while we stayed on the track. We had to do a long distance run one day for practice and that’s when I knew running was no longer for me 🤣. Big ups to the distance runners! I had a new found admiration for them afterwards.
Tbh it’s pretty much just a meme at this point, there isn’t any actual hate
yeah like tbh it feels kinda strange when I hear people refer to sprinters as “runners” because at least in my mind that’s not what I think of when I think of “running”. When I hear sprinting I think of technique, strength training, hurdle mobility, speed drills, etc, which for the most part doesn’t have much to do with running as a whole
She would be the best professional coach! She's such a great teacher 😊
She's such a great speaker. I can definitely see her holding sprint camps and giving talks to athletes and other fields. Such a talented human. Queen Felix👑
I literally have tears in my eyes every time I watch her sprint
The GOAT of women's track💪. I really hope she wins gold during this Olympics. Since this is gonna be her last competition it would be so legendary for her to retire after winning gold

There may not be a lot of hype Allyson, but you are a hero to this 76 year old track lover. You have been far more fun for me to follow than all the sports with all the attention. I have followed you since those early days and shown my boys and grandchildren all your videos. You are our hero!!
You got ribs???
She has perfect pace in her voice and seems like she never lost her girl-next-door appeal. Also prettier now than she was 15 years ago!
I've never heard Allyson talk before. She handled these questions really well. I'd like to hear more.
She's amazing. So talented and smart. I wish her the best in Tokyo 2020.
I have always envisioned Allyson Felix as a host or panelist of a show that deals with T&F after her competition. She is accomplished, well respected, (worldwide) non-controversial, she's articulate and easy on the eyes. She deserves it. She would be added enthusiasm for an under enthusiastic USA T&F audience. TV execs, make it happen.
Allyson Felix is a national treasure 🙏🏾
I don’t even follow track but still remember how awesome that 2012 relay team was. Carmelita Jeter pointing the baton at the world record time should be a way more famous sports photo than it is.
Im a simple man I see allyson felix I click.
Yay! I love allyson, she’s very humble.
"You're going to be in pain no matter how you run the 400m"
*Laughs in walking it*
"Either you have it or you don't" a statement made by those who have it.
Fr 😂🥲🥲
Allyson we love Track and Field in the US and we don’t see it as underrated but it isn’t broadcasted regularly except for around the Olympics …I have loved to follow your career and think you are an amazing athlete
Man, I love listening to Allyson speak. So intelligent and humble. 👏👏👏
👏🏽 Thank you Allyson. You deserve all the accolades, serving the country with class and professionalism 20 years. And still shining at 36 y/o.🥇
WTF.. "serving the country"? , try to explain what you are saying to some young woman who has lost her leg/arms in combat while SERVING HER COUNTRY. your hero has been running track ALL of her adult life, that's all, you DAH.
Wow, as I watched the video, I found myself smiling the entire time. Allyson really seems to have a great personality. Totally charming, beautiful, and articulate.
I LOVE ALLYSON FELIX!!! Us true track and field fans (usually one who has run track before at some point) take the world championships as seriously as the Olympics.
Queeeen! 👸🏽 The answer is "YES-- yes, I am the Beyonce of Track & Field!". Ooooorrrr, maybe Beyonce is the Allyson Felix of music. 😏🤷🏽♀️😁
Yes exactly because Beyoncé runs rings around the pop girls
She’s always so down to earth and chill! Love her so much!
Nice segment and very informative. Glad this popped in my feed🙏🏽
im a simple man. i saw allyson and clicked.
So true, I wish the US loved Track & Field like I do! It will be my number #1 sport forever... Man I ran the 400m through college, the pain is real but it makes you a stronger person.
Oh man, the 400 m. I was decent at the 100 and 200, but one day I had to fill in at the 400, and I wasn't ready for it. I didn't know how to gauge my speed and my body just wasn't ready. Afterwards, I fell to track in exhaustion, but then I literally could not stand up because my legs couldn't respond to my brainxs command to get on my feet.
All the respect in the world to people who do it, let alone do it amazingly.
I hate the 100m, I’m a 400m guy and I suck at my starts so the 100m is always very stressful
and your point is????????????????????????
I love ❤ her. She willingness to share and bless others. Classy and intelligent.
What an amazing person, so much success and still so down to earth. Good luck in Tokyo.
Thanks for your time and details for this! Great insight by one of the best runners ever!
I love track and field events but specifically, sprinting and this was so enlightening. She’s amazing.
Anyone notice her Saysh shoes on the right? They look SO good.
Great video - love Allyson Felix and so glad got to watch her race in Tokyo 2020 and get another 2 medals!
The 'Destiny Child's' Carmelita Jeter pointing at the new world record in 2012 is Still my favourite moment in all Sport.
Great example of humility and dedication. True unsung hero
We have been blessed with many great athletes in track and field...........Allyson Felix is among them! Great Q&A session with well thought out answers. I'm team Felix in Tokyo...........go Allyson!
@T Free OK, but that's your opinion. If she's average what does that make you?
@T Free I agreed with you that that's your opinion. It's your argument so you win it. I've learned not to try to convince a person who is too small to leave well enough alone.
love her smile and attitude
Hi Allyson, great Q&A. Thanks so much for sharing.
Very informative.
She is amazing in every way. Legendary.
I would LOVE to see Allyson be on that 4x100 line up at Tokyo. I know she’s not one of the top sprinters at 100m this year but she has so much experience and literally always delivers every time she competes in a relay. Put her on that second leg.
She’s always so strong on that second leg!
You guys nailed it. She's great on the straight and knows how to take and give off the baton well - made for 4x100 second leg👏
This was really fun and insightful!! She seems like such a nice person.
Always with a smile. Nice to see people like her.
Always a blast watching Allyson❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ She's a brilliant gem inside and out, and an inspiration to many! Nuff said.
She has a great personality. I would love to have a conversation with her. So professional and knowledgeable
So here's what you do,, get your DA on a plane, car, train, boat, bike, or just F...walk to Los Angeles, open a phone book, look up her number, call her and have a chat. This is the USA, you can do that. Ready......
You are a class act and definitely need to move over to the broadcast booth. You rock.
Great responses!
These were really good answers I didn't think I needed to hear!
Definitely gonna miss her in the sport. She is one of my favorites & always was my motivation in running. 💖💖💃
Im glad she gave feedback on not running 4 awhile. I havent ran 4 like 5yrs due 2 a bad injury. Now im able 2 start again & going thru it with the rebuilding!!! 😵😵 So it's nice 2 know it's a normal process. It's slowly coming along so im happy about that.
