I don't care what any of the haters say. I own this synth and it sounds awesome;every bit as good as say a juno 60 but with far more modulation capabilities ,a better arp engine and great sequencer to top it off.

Great capabilities and really nice sound. The only reason I will not buy it is because it is all surface mount component... so, when it need repair, it will cost as much as a new one unless you're ready to spend many hours finding the trouble and repairing it... But, it is the only downside I see. Very good price also for such a great analog sound :)

This is my favorite synth right now. It sounds amazing, has amazing modulation capabilities, with oscillator detune and pan spread, it sounds super fat. Not to mention you can stack the 12 voices however you want and detune them. The signal path is all analog except for digital effects. The digital effects are more than just a tagged on after thought... they are integrated to be modulated by the synth in a variety of ways. And I picked it up for $500... brand new they go for $699. Behringer are killing it. The Neutron is an amazing semi-modular paraphonic synth as well. I can't wait for the UB-XA.

    • @veganchris2923
      @veganchris2923 Před 5 lety +1

Oh, I didn't even mention aftertouch and the solid metal and wood build. Most synths 3 times this price don't come with aftertouch. There is no reason that Korg and Roland, in particular, are putting out synths that cost 1500-2k and don't even include aftertouch. I would love to have a Prologue, but why would I pay $2k for it when a DSI Rev 2 is the same price with more modulation options and aftertouch? I actually returned a Minilogue and got the DM12 instead and have 0 regrets.

      @kevingamache1512 Před 4 lety +1

@@reck0n3r i bought the 6 as that was all i could afford at the time.
I would if you can go for the 12
They are both the same machine.
The higher polyphany means more complex sounds and a greater probability of playing sounds in a more standard two handed manner with less chance of dropped notes.
Either way you will have a blast.
I sold my 6 for another synth but i still have and love the DM12
      Enjoy and

Hi, I know I am always late to the show, but I just got one and would like to add that if you pair this with something like a MOOG GrandMother, you would see that when stacking sounds in a mix, this keyboard can be quite advantageous. When I bought my JX8-P (Brand New), I wish I could have had this kind of programability, and fun-factor. But I highly recommend getting a GrandMother and a DeepMind...great mix.

Nice demo. The DM12 can get real "jangly" and harsh like the Jupiter 4. Only synth I have had that gets that thing going since then. Your arp patch at 10:15 sounds a bit like that, and when you changed the filter response and it took only after playing more keys with the aftertouch - epic!

Hidden gems you can octave spread like the minilogue XD and parameter drift and velocity off is available for keyboard very rare in a synth. OSC-DRIFT - This option allows you to recreate the oscillator tuning drift
    that vintage analog synthesizers have.
As you increase the OSC-DRIFT value, the pitch of the oscillators will be slowly
    modulated at random.
OSC-DRIFT is applied to both OSC 1 and OSC 2.
The OSC-DRIFT range is from 0 to 255, and the default setting is 0 (no drift).
    • PARAM-DRIFT - This option allows you to recreate the drift that many
parameters in a vintage analog synthesizers have.
As you increase the PARAM-DRIFT value, the drift distances will increase.
Note: The parameters which DRIFT is applied to are:
    • OSC1 PITCH MOD, OSC1 PWM, OSC2 PITCH MOD, OSC2 TONE MOD,
    • VCF FREQ, VCF RES, VCF ENV DEPTH, VCF LFO DEPTH, VCA ENV DEPTH,
    • MOD ENV DEPTH
The PARAM-DRIFT range is from 0 to 255, and the default setting is 0.
    • DRIFT-RATE - This controls the RATE at which the OSC-DRIFT and
PARAM-DRIFT operate. It is important to note that each voice has
independent random DRIFT generators for the OSC-DRIFT and the
PARAM-DRIFT, to more closely replicate the characteristics of a vintage
    synthesizer.
The rate is controlled by a random timer which generates a ramp between
a multiplier of 1x and a multiplier of 2x the rate set by the DRIFT-RATE
    parameter.
    The OSC-DRIFT range is from 0 (25 ms-50 ms) to 255 (2.5 s-5.0 s). The default
    OSC-DRIFT setting is 0.
To summarize, if the DRIFT-RATE is at 0, each “drift” will be a random time
between 25 and 50 ms, and then the parameter drifts to another random
value. At 255, each “drift” will be a random time between 2.5 s and 5.0 s and
then the parameter drifts to another random value.
    5. To exit the VOICE PARAMETERS menu, press the PROG switch to return the
main display, or press POLY EDIT once more to reach the PITCH PARAMETERS

Let me get something straight for some people: "polished & precise" DOES NOT EQUAL "digital". Go to a doctor to check out your hearing, or to a psychologist to check out your fanboyism. Or do an honest side by side with your prescious, overprized CRAP, like so many, more serious people did on youtube, and come to the same conclusion: the DM12 is the best analog poly bang for buck -- ever.

Yes, and Apple - the world's most successful tech company - also outsource their production to China. Unlike Behringer, however, they don't pass on any savings to the consumer. No. Apple products retail at absurdly high prices to such an extent that one might assume that they were still manufactured in small factories staffed by highly-skilled labour in the US! Perhaps this is why they're the most profitable company in the world! Are Behringer really such a big villain compared to the world's favourite tech brand?

The problem of the "Deep Mind" is it's bad filter. It never sounds really fat. It keeps on sounding very thin .. as if just having a 12db filter, or even less .. Same to the oscillators .. quite very thin compare to any other synth ..
It is a better string-machine in my eyes, and I can't be happy, if owning such a synth, always will hear the big difference on any other synth ..

The only synth, which is done well is the Model-D from Behringer.. But also note: you help China and it's very disgusting model to suppress young girls and boys in their factories for a *very* low money and 80 hours work/week, who all build this things, .. if you buy this products. Quality is a *big question* on that products, too ..

This is also called *cheap* .. Behringer should build a much more serious product like a "Deep Mind 12 - vers. 2.02" ;) which should sound like a real synth .. but not like plastic ..
