What about the 2 to 3 finger clearance. Especially for a wade.
Thank you Carson. This helped a lot.
Thank you for making this video. You gave a lot of good information in a short amount of time. I appreciate that. I have a TWH and an Australian saddle that I think is too narrow. I'll try your methods to check it and go from there.
Well done!!!

Great info! Thanks for posting.
Very good information, if you really care about the comfort of your horse as well. :-)
This was sooo helpful!!
Thank you for this video
Thank You!

Hello Carson,
Great information! Could I ask who the maker is of the saddle in this video?
Hey Bud, why does my Buckeroo acct not work anymore. I miss that $4 !
Thanknyou sir. I appreciate your hat. 1 question: what make model is your saddle?
I hear conflicting information concerning dry spots. Some say all dry spots are bad, and I've heard others say only small dry spots are bad - like silver dollar size; and large dry spots like the size of your hand are ok. Can you speak to this please? Thanks.
Would you be willing to post a link for the saddle pad you’re talking about?
What saddle are you using in this video?
What size and weight is this saddlePlease?
Question! There’s not that much space between the gullet and the horses withers. You could fit your hand in there but it doesn’t look like 2 fingers could fit in there. Is that because of the saddle type? So they fit a bit different than other saddles?
That's pretty typical for a Wade type saddle. The gullet and horn are low to allow less tipping and better weight distribution during roping.
What saddles are best for thinner high withered horses?
Miles city cogshell. Hard to find but fit the Cayuse and smaller narrow horses. Or a Hamley
Carson, do you do clinics?
No time to answer questions it been only 8 years
Nice video, but I disagree with the dry spot theory you gave. Dry spots can be from to much pressure OR no pressure. You have to figure out which one is occurring.
You're showing how you can fit your hand under the front of the saddle in the shoulder area by lifting up the saddle. That doesn't prove anything. You're supposed to be able to slide your hand under there in the shoulder area without picking up the saddle. When it's cinched up actually. There has to be some flare in the front of the bars in order to do that.
Not for a minute for five minutes in fact
