- Pat Maroon and Danton Heinen have been two players that have been spoken about to return to the Bruins lineup next season. The Bruins have a great spot for both these players to return and help this team next season along with some new acquisitions that will be made in the off-season. Reports have revealed that the Bruins could look to trade Linus Ullmark to the Carolina Hurricanes for the RFA rights to Martin Necas. A huge deal that would benefit both teams.

If maroon actually wants to come back to Boston then that’s not one I would split hairs over with all the money coming off the books. I would take him back in a heartbeat. We need guys like that in the locker room. He’s a perfect fit for our culture and I would really like the idea of him being around the young players and showing them how to carry themselves and play like a winner.
If they don't sign Patty, then they'll be looking for him- or a player like that -next spring. Better to have them in camp.
I heard Bertuzzi is interested in a return. I would like that too ;)

The Bruins don’t need 2 number 1 goalies, especially when they are in desperate need of a top line center. You need scoring to win games and that includes face offs.

Agree, I definitely don’t think he was 100%, an offseason rest period is what he really needs and he should come back stronger next season.

Necas would be a great 1st move. Def need more scoring and he fits the bill. HIs chemistry with Aho would likely be the same with Pasta.
I’m ok with Maroon coming back on the deal you described. We need someone to hold other guys accountable, but I don’t see him playing 82 games. I don’t see Sweeney making a lot of trades. He’ll have the cap room to sign some top notch free agents. I’d rather get a dp for ulmark. Even if it’s a late 1st early 2nd.

I would rather try and trade for Draisitl I know he said if he doesn't extend with edomton then he wants to play for the Bruins but if we can't trade ullmark and some draft picks for him then Necas would be a really good center as well.
What draft picks? The bruins have no 1st, 2nd, or 3 round picks this year and no 2nd or 4th round next year..

I heard they have a 4th and 5th round pick to trade in 2028….. Bruins don’t have draft picks.

Ullmark for a top 6 center would be a great swap. Ullmark probably wants another shot at a cup run instead of being backup.
As far as wingers go, I'd definitely keep Maroon and Heinen. However, I don't see a reason to keep JVR.
But I think the Bruins will do big things to set them selfs up for next yr run. Knowing im a fla guy im from Conn Bruins are my team too. Either way i would of been happy in next round. I just want a good series.
I think you need to trade Ullmark, as much as I appreciate how well he’s played, he should go somewhere where he can play regularly. Having 2 great goalies is nice but if you have other needs . You have to give up something to get something

I saw something a week or so ago that was talking about Draisaitl possibly wanting to come to Bruins to be the #1 center!!?? That would be crazy good if it could happen and maybe it could be possible!? Edmonton does need a goalie so maybe there could be a deal there with Ullmark going to Edmonton!? Maybe Ullmark and Debrusk go to Edmonton for Draisaitl to come to Boston!!?? Idk maybe there could be a deal to be made there and Draisaitl would be a GREAT #1 center!!?? Just imagine Draisaitl centering Pasta and Marchy or something like that!!?? Could be crazy!!?? Necas would be a great winger to get too!? Reminder: the goaltenders play a full game. And your #1...many full games. So, trading Ullmark- and elite goalie (capable of potting the occasional empty netter) is worth more than a positional player. Yeah, a hot 'tender can win a series (eg Tim Thomas). 🤔

Rantanen, Draisaitl, Marner, Boeser, Hedman , Theodore …and plenty of other solid players.
They should be looking a year ahead..
Ullmark needs to come to grips with the fact he will not be in Boston much longer. I hope he’s willing to work with the team so we can get a good return and the team needs to stress to him the fact he can only stay in Boston 1 more year tops before his contract is up anyways.

Pat Maroon at 1.5 million is great for everyone. Just above entry level money and the guy actually wants to be in Beantown. Ullmark will get traded and I hope he gets 4 plus million. He has come a long way since hos days in Buffalo.

Sweeny reminds me of George Allen of Redskins-Veterans over building through the draft. No pick this year until fourth round. Poor talent evaluation is there problem. His team composition is/has been the Bruins problem for years.

The Bruins need to find someone to trade Coyle to. He is sucking up valuable cap space. The Bruins can get a real second line center for what they are paying him. Sweeney will probably pay him 8 million a year for him when his contract is up in two years.

All these guys regular season play is top notch and consistent but get to the playoffs and the puck possession monster coyle was nonexistent. Mac and Lindholm coughed up more pucks then anyone that led to goals and there was a lack of finish on the other end by the forwards. I’d say this coming season is a do or die for a lot of Bruins players.

I’m all set on Necas. Good player and all but he’s not the guy we need with Zacha and Pasta. I would kill for the Bruins to REALLY go all out and seek Trevor Zegras or someone like him. They’ll have some cap space, and with Gryz and Forbort as potential trade pieces something good could happen here

I was thinking the other way around, what would Carolina give up in addition to Necas for Ullmark. Quality goaltending seems to be their biggest need.

Dump Ullmark cuz no need 2 goalies, JVR cuz he can’t playoff perform, keep maroon and Danton for depth, need to get at least one more top center and another goal scorer for the playoffs. Everyone else was great too

Tbh, after he left Boston he was asked if he’d ever come back to play and he replied with a scoff and a very belittling “I don’t think so” and then a flat out “no”. After I was done hating on Maroon for the Jack Edwards BS and his “hugging” fights in Tampa, I realized he’s a absolute great Bruin. Every interview he has in a spoked B is like dude was Born from here. Loved them all and hope he comes back for another year. 3rd and 4th line.
Hey good job on the channel i really like it. Now on the Maroon deal I would say no. I'd really like to see them give Milan Lucic another shot. Gosh did we need him as he knows what it means to wear the spoked B jersey.

I wouldn’t waste a roster spot on Maroon, he’s not going to add any significant to the team. Heinen was a bargain.
I get the money part in trades to get qialified top center, but cannot put a price on happiness, happiness makes you do better in life, its a huge motivation. Sway and Ullmark, best friends and insane good too have those 2 together. for the fans, for the team, for the friendship etc etc. can´t put a price on that. keep them both.

I would sign Heinen but not a multi year deal. Maroon is slower than a 12 year old and has never been known as a hard worker but has character. Use Ullmark could have been used to bring a top center

Other than one play to Win a puck battle on the boards and pass for a breakaway vs the Leafs...Maroon was pretty useless on the ice this post season and we do not need locker room leadership prior to him.
I love Maroon of old, he is to slow for the new league. Lucic could at least skate and would drop the gloves at will. Big Rig was very out of place on the ice during the playoffs. $1.5 million is a bit much to pay for locker room presence.

Correction - Carolina doesn’t WANT to move Necas. However, the Hurricanes have a lot of free agents and will not be able to retain all of them.

Zacha is the problem. 1 goal in 24 playoff games is a joke. He lost every puck battle, lost every face-off and is soft as melted ice cream. Sweeney signing Zacha long term to over 5 million per was a a bad move. The Zacha money should have been used for Debrusk. They should look to sign an elite scorer and playoff grinding wing- They need to keep cap space for trade deadline veteran d- man like Tanev this year. Sweeney is a bit overrated with his moves and giving soft players like Zacha, grezlyk, Forbort, Hall just to name a few. The make up of this team needs playoff proven players and not regular season hereos.

Sweeny needs to sign Swayman to contract equal to Ullmark's contract and keep both goalies. The Bruins have a special goalie tandem that will pay off soon with a Stanley Cup. Trade Grek, Carlo and MacAvoy, who is overrated and not worth the 9.5 million. The two goalie sytem will lead the Bruins to the promise land. Sweeney stay he course and keep both goalies.
