    Eli has become quite the lightning expert. They had to keep wet-mopping the floor the whole shoot to get the right reflektion as well. Everbody took turns in doing that. I saw it in the BTS. The result, all in all quite outstanding.

      Eli just keeps getting better and better. The fact that they had to keep mopping the floor makes sense in order to get that nice shiny reflection.

    This was the first video filmed at the new Pattycake Studios. They weren’t even completely moved in yet. The new studio has 15’ ceilings (as opposed to 10’ in the old studio) so they have more flexibility for lighting and filming.
    Layne arranged this, and he said it came quickly - 5 to 6 hours. Whoever (usually Geoff or Layne) arranges and directs the video does most of the audio editing, only sending to Ed Boyer for the final touches. They say that only they know exactly what they want, so they get it as close as they can.
    The section that you said sounds like PTX: whenever the beatboxing drops out, listen for Layne singing. Here he was singing the lead, and we love to hear his baritone voice! Their newest video (should be out soon) has no beatboxing. (We’ve been kidding that VoicePlay and Home Free decided to cosplay each other this time. If you’ve seen Brother, you know what I mean.)

    This diamond should be in your collection.
    I would like to share with you my discovery. The voice of amazing beauty, power and depth, crystal clear, I heard from a beautiful girl and was fascinated by her.
    Her story moved me even more.
    At the age of 3, this little girl was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and other psychological and physical injuries. The child ended up in an orphanage, where her future foster mother worked as a masseuse. The story itself is a ready-made plot for an Oscar-nominated film.
    This girl is now 19 years old.
    She has about 70 victories in various vocal competitions. If you understand what it is to sing with soul, then this is about her.
    Diana also has a huge army of fans, and reactions are gaining tens and hundreds of thousands of views. The total number of reactions on CZcams to Diana is about 13 thousand.

    You're so right, Eli's Stranger Things lighting is on point. Eli wearing the HELLFIRE CLUB T-SHIRT. They had a time keeping the floor wet like in the in-between. Who's Walkman was Ashley wearing? Geoff's, Layne's, or Eli's. The levitation at the end is all Layne's video magic. They really caught that '80s reverb vibe that I remember.

    • @JeffreyHackReacts

      Eli's lighting design really made the overall look so spectacular! Yes, the Hellfire Club shirt was a great touch to the music video!

    Great reaction! This cover is so catchy and video was awesome! They have mentioned that when they record the songs, they do use double tracks to thicken up the sound. Both Geoff and Layne use this technique. Yes Eli’s lighting is bringing all their videos up a notch!

    • @JeffreyHackReacts
      @JeffreyHackReacts  Před 2 lety

      Hey, glad you enjoyed the video! I figured they were layering vocals tracks over each other to thicken the sound.

    I haven't watched regular TV in 3 years. CZcams on my computer is my go to entertainment and news. I could listen to this all day. I've listened to other groups (Fox and Hound, etc.) and they never get the word "experience" correctly. VoicePlay purifies it. Everyone else seem to end it in "unce" like dunce. I understand this is the new Pattycake Production Studio.

    I just finished Stranger Things Season 4 Monday. She's dressed in mid80s style. Ashley could have borrowed Cesar's blind eye from Hoist the Colours. Eli's has on the Hellfire Club shirt! This is one of my top 3 favorites.

    Hi Jeffrey - again, I so appreciate your pointing out some technical aspects I tend to miss. Also, I would love to have you react to Geoff's new video The Rains of Castamere. I am curious what you think of it technically and musically, and if you see what I noticed.

    I forgot to mention that I have seen all of Stranger Things. I love that series. (Also Orphan Black, The Expanse, Sherlock Homes (w/ Benedict Cumberbatch), Outlander and the Witcher, also Fringe and Firefly). This weekend VoicePlay has done a beautiful video w/ EJ Cardona. It's a Bonnie Raitt song (I Can't Make You Love Me) that Cesar really wanted VP to do.

    At one point in this I get eighties vibes that remind me of Wham or George Michael. I don't have Netflix so haven't seen the show but love this anyway.

    I don't think this was so much them taking inspiration from The Weeknd, as both of them taking inspiration from the same classic 80s vibe.

    • @JeffreyHackReacts
      @JeffreyHackReacts  Před 2 lety

      That's a respectable answer. I guess it just so happens the The Weeknd incorporates a lot of the 80s vocalisitic style.

    After watching Pentatonix for alot of years has gotten me spoiled hearing amazing talented individuals sounding almost perfect so when I hear another Acapella group like Voiceplay it stands out as Blah blah blah amateur high school sounding group.

    • @barbarabishop9362
      @barbarabishop9362 Před 2 lety +2

      Disagreeing STRONGLY with your comment. I'm a Pentaholic and happy to be so, but VoicePlay has fairly equal status and is fully as talented as PTX. I'm not a country fan so don't generally rank Home Free as high, but their skills are also right up there. These three groups are the crown jewels of a capella in my opinion, and I'm reasonably sure I'm not alone in thinking that. Your sneer is unwarranted and irksome.
