    Wow you were staying next to Charterhouse! Amazing! An ancient monastery, then school, and now alms house with massive history. Great place to visit as a tourist.

    Thursday night is DEFINITELY like Friday night in London. I spent my twenties in London and Thursday was always the night we ended up out. You would go out for a cheeky drink after work and end up in some club at 2.00am dancing to Techno totally wasted and having to get up at 7.00am for work. Good times.... Some of the best club nights are on Thursdays and sometimes the pressure is off to have a good time. Saturdays you are like "MUST have a good time because it is Saturday" but Thursday is a lot more relaxed and ends up being better 9 times out of 10.

      For anyone reading this: it’s small. Like, 15 minutes and youve seen it all small. If this was a destination, lump it in to a boat ride to Camden.

  • @mrkiplingreallywasanexceed8311

    I very watched all your England videos now and I thought your London one was exceptional... as a number of other people have commented, it is true you were uniquely blessed with the season/weather. Even though I live in London, your fresh perspective was highly enjoyable and your selection of places to visit were extremely well judged... the trendy Shoreditch, the ancient City including the Tower and the Bishop of Winchester's Palace, you went up the Walkie Talkie and saw the Shard from the other side of the river...Tower Bridge of course, Borough Market. It really isva maze of yummy treats. I don't know if you had a curry In Brick Lane, that's what it used to be famous for. I noticed you made sure to try the Britsh Beef, pie and mash and fish 'n chips. In fact everything you ate looked very very good and that is representative. Please when you return home will you preach the gospel that British food is top hole?😀 Yes, during the 40s and most of the 50s we were either at war or on rationing and I guess we lost the art of ingredients and cooking the posy War decades but I think you discovered that stage we went through, is now behind us. Sorry you didn't get to see Buckingham Palace bit you saw it from the outside and anyway walking down Whitehall, past Downing Street to Parliament Square I think is
    more interesting.Nearly forgot, you fitted in St Paul's too and we're lucky enough to hear the organ and thereforevalso the seven second echo! It truly is an absolutely sensational edifice and it's architect, Christopher Wren, got to see it finished. You probably also noticed some of the smaller but equally beautiful Hawksmoor churches in the City.
    Obviously you rounded it all out with the West End, Chinatown, Covent Garden and Piccadilly. Honestly, it made me proud, with only a rare waft of pee to interrupt the reverie. Everywhere really does look spick and span doesn't it? I could see you were deeply impressed and rightly so - even the bloody functional buildings like stations are more like palaces! So glad you enjoyed it - and you did a similarly high quality job of representing Liverpool and Glasgow. A most engaging couple and, with a bit of help from dear old England, the pair of you delivered far more than was promised!
    Come again soon!

      Camden is awesome, you guys really need a local to guide you, the silvery statue you saw is of Amy Winehouse, she lived and worked in Camden, the park you were in is Regents Park, also home of London Zoo, maybe you should have gone in there? Did you guys get ypur pictures taken with any of the punk rockers? Ha they are fabulous people and definitely worth getting to know. The big traffic lights with the pub on the left? That's the worlds end pub, seriously famous boozer, loads of bands got their first proper gigs in there, especially during the punk/mod eras. See? It's definitely worth another visit even the horse market is a great place to have a look round.

      Going to a zoo while traveling is a waste of time with very few exception. We have fantastic zoos in our hometown and I can see a tiger and lion and polar bear there.

    • @kamach240
      @kamach240 Před rokem +1

      @@WorldWideWolberts I kind of agree with you that you can see Zoo's anywhere. The only difference is that London Zoo has either he largest amount of species or 2nd (can't remember which). Also, London zoo has a unique history in that it only exists because the original animals were kept at the tower of London but, when the collection became too large another option had to be found, hence London Zoo. It has been at the forefront of animal conservation before the term "animal conservation" was first mentioned. However; I totally understand not going to the zoo when then are so many things to see in a place like London.
      Good vids so far though, enjoying the slightly eclectic presentation.
