- This is the first episode in my new series 'junk journal with me' where I show you my process in using my handmade journal that has a large variety of pages. Including scrapbook papers, vintage papers, vellum, book pages, etc. (Technically not a JUNK journal but the term has become very foggy it's the best way to describe it)
This is my favourite way to journal and I love that the interesting pages give me such a big head start to creating a pretty looking page! This is really a very visual way to journal so for me it works perfect!

I keep thinking when your kids get older they're gonna find all these journals. Looks like there's a lot of love in there and I bet there will be lots of happy tears. I got just a regular written journal from my mom for my college graduation; she'd written an entry for all 22 of my birthdays and a few special events. That is journal one of the most precious things I own.
My dear friend (somehow I feel like you're a friend to me), it truly amazes me to see how you work. Indeed is like a puzzle and I find it so interest to see how people do the things they do with what they have, and whenever I watch your videos I am delighted with the finished pages. I never heard of a junk journal but I love the idea. My kids are older and I have many pics of them through the years. I can see doing something like this. It is creative but not intimidating. You have such a creative eye!
Johanna, I love the way you journal in your junk journal so much..especially I love the vellum page..have never seen anyone done such a nice job on vellum paper. .Each page just turns out so beautiful once they are in your hands..You are truly talented! So do you mix up thing in your journal? Like do you mix drawings pictures and items that have occurred in the same day or week or just put random things on the same page? I hope I've explained myself well enough. Lol!
MommytoMikeyjr usually things from roughly the same time frame, it can be over a period of a few weeks. I keep pieces and when I journal I fit them onto pages wherever I feel like they fit :)

Could you do a process video of putting together signatures for a junk journal or a different type of journal? Like how you choose what papers to put together, how many pages you put in a signature, how many signatures you would place for a certain sized book etc. That's always the hardest part for me, the beginning steps of the process.

Going back to ur previous videos because i like to jounral along with you. I have a question though, please answer if you can. What size is your junk journal and how did you make each page so big as it is? Most papers i have, which is printer paper and scrapbook paper can only be made into limited size junk journals. What are your tips on making larger size jj?

3:24 You mention not being sure why the stamp impression doesn't come out clean. I'm betting its because of all the cushion underneath from the other pages. Tbh, the broken stamped image just adds to the beauty imo. It definitely still works well, love your work
Just found your channel through someone in JJJ facebook page. I've enjoyed this video. How do you organize all your stuff???? That's my biggest problem. I'm new to this craft!!!
It looks great. I have so much ephemera and bits and bobs and I have a problem with organizing it so, that it's manageable to work within collaging. I wondered if this is all the ephemera you have in your pouches because you make so many junk journals and how one could pare it down. Or just organize it. Thanks for sharing your process. I enjoyed the video!!
Juliana Beasley This stuff is some of my very favourite supplies so things I just want to use myself, i have a little caddy full of my own journal things to use and then everything else is just kept in the rest of my stash to use in all the journals I make etc :) that's how I narrow it down!
I'll do a video soon of my fave journalling supplies and my system for having a smaller selection to choose from 😊
