Yup. Generalized Anxiety Disorder here, with a side order of depression. Biggest thing I've learned over the years is that my brain is constantly telling me lies ... but, it gets easy to recognize when it is doing it. Still extraordinarily hard to do anything about it, but once you've identified a lie, that tells you where you need to ignore your brain and Do The Thing, secure in the knowledge that your brain is full of crap, so to speak. Still always hard to deal with the really hard times, what with the elephant sitting on your chest making it hard to breathe or think, but ... it is possible to recognize that the elephant isn't real and relegate it to just 'really annoyingly uncomfortable' rather than 'oh my god I'm about to die'.
Really, really sorry to hear you've been struggling. Just want to give you a hug :) But, take it from years of experience ... it does get easier to deal with. Never a big ball of fun and adventure, but easier. Really, really happy to hear you're out from under. Hopefully helping others with their issues will give you a new perspective on your own.

You're reactions are as brutally open and honest about things most people are too scared to bring up as Nate's music and honestly as someone who suffers so many ways from so many different things being able to see such honesty from Nate and you in one video is very therapeutic and helpful and a good reminder that people like us are not alone even if we feel like we are...it is nice to know the outcasts like us can band together and in that find people who understand what so many "normal" people miss our ignore or some other stupid thing...people like us really only have eachother and what you do helps thousands so thank you..

Always enjoy your NF reactions, as someone who lives with anxiety and depression on a daily basis I would highly recommend listening to Nathans The Search album start to finish. It speaks to me on a very deep level, and even if you dont react to the songs, I highly suggest it. Love your work, keep at it.

I bought tickets to his concert right after I saw this video!! Always like his songs but looked into his older songs after hearing The Search. Both of my daughters have mental health issues and it’s a hard life to live because it’s always going to be a challenge. Keep fighting girl!!! That always pops into my mind if I hear another story about mental disorders. Because I suffer from DP/DR, GAD, Depression and PTSD too (10 years now).
And I always wanna say something uplifting and hopeful, but at the end of the day, it never helped me to hear something uplifting. It just gave me hope in the beginning, but all those hopes were crushed again and again. But being negative doesn't help either. So I'm lost (for now at least).....like so many others.
But I'm happy I stumbled over your video today. definitely gonna check out your other stuff and you got a new sub. :) And I'm happy that you are out of the worst, and I really hope you will stay out of it and get better! :). Love and greetings from Germany!

As a person who struggles deeply with my own mental health as well since my friend/mentor's suicide a few years ago...well, your realness was refreshing. Everyone's already telling you this probably, but "The Search" would be one you'd really like by Nate. Remember, not all who wander are lost, you got this!
I have nothing but #Respect and #Admiration towards your exposure...I can completely understand everything you have shared, because I too have been through that dark black-smiley-face place also. So I’ve been a silent subscriber for a minute (while), I obviously found you from a reaction to NF. Me personally, I saw something in you that I felt compelled to stick with and subscribe. Then you started opening up about depression anxiety and etc and I knew why I stuck around. Someone gets it. I too struggle with these things but I love to create. So I made a CZcams channel to do both. (This isn’t self promotion this is a story) I made this channel so show people that although I suffer through things that I can still create things that I enjoy and me happy and hopefully make others happy and to accomplish the ultimate goal of making people do what I’m doing. I’m a huge NF fan and he’s inspired me along with others to create things that are real and personal. So I understand where you are coming from. I’m not huge but I am a person with emotions and feelings and I get how you feel even if you aren’t (completely) up front about what is going on. I can see it. But point is is your not alone, if I can understand then I’m sure others do as well and that you have fans. Just hang in there and make things that you feel happy with but understand that we can’t make things as perfect as we like. It’s trial and error and I can’t wait to see what you post. And if somehow you read this far and interested in seeing something from another depressed person 😂 then check it out but I don’t expect it. I’m just here to comment my message hang in there ❤️

I too suffer from Clinical Depression, and I thought Addiction was tough..... Talk about a rude awakening, I've always said that I learn the quickest through experience, but DAYUM..... Although, I'm beginning to feel, a familiar feeling. I'm beginning to think, a familiar thought. I'm sick and tired of feeling like this day after day, something has to change! I'm sorry to hear about your depression. Shit sucks. I like how your reaction was unedited and just your *actual* reaction. A couple songs you should check out are Kitchen Sink, Car Radio, Holding On To You or Migraine by Twenty One Pilots. I think you'll find them relatable as well, and they're known for "saving" people struggling with depression. I'ts obviously not that easy, but it might help for a while.

LOST. i seem to through stages of being lost and then enlightened and then broken and then lost and then......... FEAR. i have felt fear so horrible that it literally dropped me to my knees , took my breath away, forced my eyesight to blur and caused my heart to pound so hard i though i was going to die from it. These attacks didn't happen just once. Not even just once a day. no. they happen 5 to 10 times almost daily for almost a full year. Now mind you that I'm describing the peak of my worst times, but it took a few years of building up to that point. i know fear. im so so so so sorry you do as well.

The song is about a review of an article, if I'm not mistaken it's that of "Rolling Stones" and "times magazine". However, the music with the clip also portrays versions/personalities of Nathan from the past (or may also be representative versions of his various thoughts). Versions from different periods of his life, has the personality of the I'm free era, which was the first album when he started rapping, has the personality of therapy session, of the search, of no name, of leave me alone. In short, they are versions of himself in different periods of his life. The part of him working with the balloons, Its represents him gaining strength with his bales/problems/negativity, that is, he is taking strength from these problems.
